The whole "fake news" narrative is a big warning signal that something worse is already in the works or else tptb are trying to condition the special snowflakes to BEG for widespread censorship.
MSM is pretty much all in line, CTR showed how effective it could be, Google Twitter and Facebook were on board... it was never going to go away. It's only going to get more pervasive.
censorship is happening much more since election ended. Block dangerous and deceptive content is now default setting in firefox. It didn't say deceptive not long ago and if you uncheck it you must also give up protection against dangerous downloads and other normal protection . This is only one example,
god only knows what microsoft and apple are doing I bet it's worse.
Block dangerous and deceptive content: Check this box if you want Firefox to block potential malware or content that can trick you into downloading malware or unintentionally entering information. You can also refine your choices by checking or unchecking the items in this section:
No. In firefox preferences it now says on one line block dangerous and deceptive content. Period end of that choice, Who is to say what is decptive? this enables censorship. In order to deactivate this box you must also deactivate block dangerous downloads and warn me about dangerous downloads.
TOR users have already been marked enemy of the state. The official position of the USA is if you use TOR or anything that 'hides' or 'shields' in anyway, what you're doing online, then you're using it for nefarious reasons, or else you would do it on the 'open' net.
Regardless TOR like reddit is compromised and those in the know can see it happen in real time. Those who think you have to use TOR to be in the know are complete idiots.
The laymen cannot and should not be expected to do this.
It's like saying "well you could just check the car's engine yourself if you don't trust that shady mechanic"; no thanks, I just want a better mechanic.
Why would you define shady someone who literally shows his entire self to you, when you're the one choosing not to see them? If you're so concerned, as a good lawyer would be, pay someone to do it for you
Funny how the majority of these posts talking about manipulation never seem to mention all of the spam posts in favor of Trump, only the anti-Trump ones. Whatever, it still serves a useful purpose of making people aware that manipulation is going on, even if it's only mentioning one side of it.
I hate trump, and I hate the memes and posts from the_donald that reach the front page. But those posts are genuinely appreciated by that user base and I can see how they are so popular. That is however not the same as what is happening now.

"PROBLEM"->REACTION->"SOLUTION"

That's correct. Google and FB now have an excuse for mass censorship.
Remember it's illegal to view, unless you saw it on CNN.

So TOR users are automatically suspected of nefarious activities...
And yet when Hillary Clinton has a server set up to circumvent public oversight, the FBI lets her off the hook?

Yes.
Do you have a problem with that?
Show me.

Final straw. dual booting linux.
Linux works out of the box with all popular PC hardware these days.

You can check Firefox's code if you don't trust them

That's not how it works.

Yes it is, if you want to take the time to do it

How are you to know whether the new guy is any better when you know nothing about mechanics?
1 honestlyimeanreally 2016-11-20
Shit man, I don't know. Sometimes making up an analogy on the spot is difficult! Haha.
But I think the analogy, albeit bad, does convey the message I want...

the pro-trump are contained to the_donald. every other subreddit is just full of anti trump propaganda. what do you expect from a trump subreddit? lol

Your post can't easily be nuked now, because I'm posting to it.

LOL! Thanks Captain Obvious. This is the core concept of how reddit works. People vote on things.
