Imagine that you are so wealthy and powerful that you can have anything you want, almost at the moment you want it. Any vacation, any food or drink, almost any possession. And that makes you happy for a while.

I think they succumb to it for various power and control reasons.
However, the big picture is different. How was this system put into place in our power structures around the world? It's simple, once these people have participated, they are now under the control of their masters.
