I wonder who's gonna play the fake am puree wheel chair guy..

The same actor could just do the scene again!
n/a danimalplanimal 2017-01-12
it's a movie that will give the impression that it's a good thing to have guys with guns searching every house in the city if there's 2 bad guys out there somewhere. pretty soon we'll have Americans volunteering to have their houses searched any time a criminal get's away with a crime... someone robbed a bank in your city? search every house. someone got away with a murder? search every house in the city. someone outran a cop speeding? search every house in the city.
n/a CrimsonBarberry 2017-01-12
If only there were some law somewhere that protects people against unlawful searches and seizures.
n/a abortionlord252 2017-01-12
If only we could actually quarter with horses, some soldiers and cops.
But no, instead you let them into your quarters.

If only...
(that's been skirted for some time, now.)
n/a danimalplanimal 2017-01-12
did that law protect residents of Boston from having their homes searched after the boston bombing?
n/a entsRus 2017-01-12
I thought the same thing... such a bullshit movie idea.
n/a load_PROG_8_1 2017-01-12
Why a Snowden movie?
n/a NotUrFweindGuy 2017-01-12
Never saw it and maybe to get people to accept the fact they are being spied on
n/a load_PROG_8_1 2017-01-12
I'm just saying that if you're going to call one movie propaganda, then Snowden deserves to be called the same.

Propaganda for releasing government corruption

There was also already a movie about Assange/Wikileaks called The Fifth Estate. Was in theaters for like a week in 2013.

mark whalberg is pretty anti hollywood. he was basically calling out the elites for not having a clue whats going on in america. hes a boston guy doing a boston movie and has a pretty big following. sometimes its just a movie...

I know plenty of Southies who hate the Walbergs. Since NKOTB days.

Some people just need a job. Wake up you child
n/a Might-be-a-Trowaway 2017-01-12
I wonder if the good folks of the SS thought of it as just a job. And no, Marky mark doesn't need the work.

Anything with markie mark(MK ultra/Hollywood puppet) is propaganda.
Lone survivor( I live next to Marcus, he's a cunt btw) deep horizon, patriots day. All of these movies are used to solidify the the official story in the mind of the masses.
You can't argue with them because people will say ' it's based on true events' the same reason people thought 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' was real..
n/a Captain_____Obvious_ 2017-01-12
What about Shooter? It's pretty anti-government.
n/a brimstone18 2017-01-12
IMHO movies like this are a way of distorting your interpretation of truth. It casts a shadow of doubt on official stories. Alternatively it might be a message to the mass sub-conscience "we can make anyone look guilty"
n/a Swipe_Right_Here 2017-01-12
It's so that the people who believe that the official stories are fishy, but don't have their mind wrapped around it enough, are further confused.
n/a pepe_silvia67 2017-01-12
Shooter was awesome. (I recently noticed a copy of the NIST report on his computer desk in the beginning)
The general plot was corrupt people within the gov and high military ranks using unsuspecting military personnel to serve corporate agendas abroad, and planning political assassinations to install their own puppet dictators... Thats about as anti gov/state as you can get.
n/a dagonn3 2017-01-12
Yeah, it's just Wahlberg. Right.
Anything from Hollywood is propaganda. Whether it pushes an agenda (Flight 93, American Sniper) or normalizes behavior they want to encourage, it's propaganda and advertising disguised as entertainment.
n/a pepe_silvia67 2017-01-12
I agree. I havent seen lone survivor (read the book) or american sniper.
I have no issue with Lutrell. His book told a story that was very sad, and also showed the bravery of the local people who protected him. I have no way of knowing if it was true or not, but nothing seemed like him boasting, other than about the bravery of the other soldiers.
Kyle, on the other hand, has been caught lying on multiple occasions and to an extent that has been ridiculous (scaling the super dome to shoot looters during katrina) Nobody to be glorified imo...
n/a brimstone18 2017-01-12
Idk much about the validity of the lone survivor story but I do know Marcus assaulted a bunch of college students (frat boys) at Sam Houston state university in Texas shortly after returning. The story was covered up by locals because he was a 'hero' and they hate fraternities in this town. I say 'hero' because really the only thing he did was not die. But yeah, locals covered for him and out of court settlements were made with the families.
n/a pepe_silvia67 2017-01-12
There's a long list of BS with that guy. I have friends with severe ptsd who lose control of their emotions at great lengths but they don't make up stories about themselves. He lied on tv in an interview about punching Jesse Ventura at a bar in coronado (owned by a former seal) after a seal funeral. He said Ventura was there saying "seals deserve to die if they fought in Afghanistan," so he punched him and ran away...
Literally never happened in any way shape or form. Proven in a civil lawsuit which Ventura was expected to lose because the burden of proof was so high.
Mentioning this to the average person goes over about as well as telling them that hitler was a war hero...
n/a brimstone18 2017-01-12
Yeah bro, I can't tell anyone who isn't close to military-life because they reject anything you say against a proclaimed 'war-hero'.. Idk man. Lol, don't even get me started on Audie Murphy.
n/a pepe_silvia67 2017-01-12
I think its due to the general taboo of non-military citizens criticizing former or current military; not the military itself (thats always fair game,) but individuals who have served.
I come from a highly right-wing, pro-military family (one grandfather was ww2 vet, the other was ww2, korea and vietnam)
When i first talked to my dad about Kyle after he suggested i see American Sniper, he wasn't mad but he was very bothered by what i said. It took a lot of convincing to prove Kyle's record of lying. Once he agreed the evidence was valid, he just accepted it and put it out of his mind. Most people take this approach, at best.
I agree its not valid for someone who hasn't served to criticize a military member's experience (within reason,) but if they are overtly lying, it needs to be called out.
I personally believe Kyle was either killed or "killed" as a result of the Ventura case in combination with his rise to fame. Tptb couldn't afford to have him be disgraced in court or in the public eye.
Its an odd means of death that he took a ptsd sufferer shooting to help his ptsd, and the guy "turned on him." Its not impossible, but it never sat well with me.
I am immeasurably grateful for this sub, if only for the reason that i can speak these opinions without the usual condemnation.

I didn't mean it was just him, we were just focusing on him because the OP brought it up

I will see your Boston bonbing movie and raise you a Deep Water Horizon movie...
n/a NotUrFweindGuy 2017-01-12
Jesus forgot about that one what's up with Mark and doing all these tragedy movies from the past 5 years.
Maybe I should hire Mark and make a nodapl movie
n/a thesarl 2017-01-12
What's wrong with the story presented in Deep Water Horizon? Genuinely curious because I haven't done don't research on trying to figure out what happened.
n/a NotUrFweindGuy 2017-01-12
It's a movie about the BP oil spill and it pottys the workers as heros. While I understand they are just workers who happened to be on a rig that exploded and what not the main thing is it makes the oil companies not look like bad guys
n/a thesarl 2017-01-12
It most certainly makes BP out to be the bad guys. Really puts the blame on BP, to be honest.
What is the real story?
n/a NotUrFweindGuy 2017-01-12
Idk Iv never seen it just repeating what others said
n/a bwburke94 2017-01-12
I hear this movie's going to be... a bomb... I'll show myself out.
n/a PTDancer 2017-01-12

I sure ain't feeling the Good Vibrations from this.
n/a 785239521 2017-01-12
Oh god I saw the preview on TV for that just yesterday. Couldn't help but groan.
First there was the Sniper or whatever that bullshit was that was directed by Eastwood and now this?
Why make a movie about how an entire city was put into marshal law?
Are they going to show the bit about how they shot the hell out of one of the guys hiding in a boat?
n/a 785239521 2017-01-12
So shit. The purpose of this movie is just to show Americans that enacting Marshal Law in a big city is worth giving up your rights to get the bad brown people.
I guarantee the movie doesn't follow the real story.
