This is serious and I am surprised it did go over so quietly, given how /r/wikileaks went down and how this community historically votes on mod promotion. I am newish, so I defer to those that have been here longer, but hope you all keep the sub clear.
Julian lost his internet and people were unsure what was going on, some fearing the worst. People were constantly asking for info, so the management concluded more mods were needed. So they brought on 6 or 7 new mods, most of them unknowns. This made those that worried he was kidnapped fear the new mods were government employees. New mods were deleting and banning like crazy further convincing people the sub was compromised. No proof of life, more paranoia. Was a bad situation all around,

Their moderators have impressed me so far, but I'm keeping an eye on it. They successfully called out the /r/wikileaks mod takeover; Assange answered ThoriumWL's question about Here4Popcorn in the AMA.
There was a guy sock puppeting in WhereIsAssange and pushing these scam.com / opnlttr.org links like crazy while agreeing with himself using different accounts that were only days old. Something about Bruce Gorcyca. You also need to ask yourself how reputable a source like scam.com or opnlttr.org is...I've never heard of them and the "Bruce" character or Perry-Mason or whoever was posting links from those domains that nobody had ever heard of before. Could be well intentioned, but seems like a LARP aimed to discredit the sub.
/r/whereisassange has decent mods? They came up with new rules, forbidding anyone questioning where Assange is. So their whole subreddit is defunct, because the mods declared where Assange is, and nobody is allowed to question the various problems in his AMA. Such as he refused to sign messages with his PGP key.
I wouldn't call that "decent mods".
Assange is stuck in that fucking embassy, and he asked us to not entertain shills to harp about him being dead, since he's clearly not. He should be released.

That mod was added by mr_dong to revise the layout/appearance of the subreddit style. That's all he.s been doing and has stated that the updates will be completed this weekend and he will then be removed as a mod. Just for the record, he was also a mod here for quite a while previously. So he's not really "new".

He was running a personal censorship campaign on the sub, I messaged one of the reasonable mods pointing out his ridiculous profile. Never got an answer but he doesn't seem to be on the mod list. Is he actually gone and does anyone have specifics?

Enfrozt has had access to CSS a few times in the past and has never vandalized anything, left peacefully a few times and is generally just a helpful person with CSS skills. I don't think they have ever had any desire to actually moderate anything here.
