They came up on my radar recently because of conspicuous absence from all recent religious and political drama... I can't put my finger on what they are all about... Occam's Razor says they are a money hungry cult trying to brainwash people out of their cash... just like 99% of the world says... But I also learned that whenever 99% of the world says something there is usually something more behind it... My tin-foil hat theory is they were created in the early 50s to counteract the CIA backed shadow government... The ideals that they publically stand for seems diametrically opposed to the MKUltra program... perhaps their goal is to "unbrainwash"... kind like they did with Charles Manson before he got "rebrainwashed" and totally lost his shit.
L Ron Hubbard created scientology. He was a writer that started to have religious ideas. Some feel he wrote to create a religious business. Others feel he went insane when he made it, confusing fiction with religious vision.
The business aspect took off, and its defensive nature followed.

Yeah... I also read thru some of the 1500 pages of FBI files on L. Ron... but I just can't get myself to 100% believe that they are just the most fucked up religion in the entire world... maybe if I didn't know how propaganda can be used to shape public opinion... but something seems weird about a religion doing this type of stuff... even for tax purposes... Like this is OG spy shit going on...
That is why this religon is hideous. Guess what you loose your career for some reason and you don't keep donating money them. You will be forbidden to come back.
I don't know how anyone can take scientology seriously. I had a great uncle who got into it. He was in his mid 70s and they had him quit all his prescription meds(pharma sucks but they were keeping him alive at this point) and then they started selling him supplements. Of course he died not long after that at his kitchen table and they tried to take a 20k$ family heirloom when he had no will drafted.
