Is the grand ol plan behind the "defeat ISIS" narrative just a ploy to bomb the shit out Iran/Iraq/Middle East and usurp the oil?

Yes.

Finally some transparency about foreign policy. In all seriousness it seems like the need for false flags is not needed anymore in the sense that they can be open about why countries are being invaded, and people would cheer and support it.

So you suggest Trump, like Obama, sits on his ass and doesn't do a damn thing about one of the most barbaric and oppressive ideologies the Earth has ever seen.

Is that what you're saying? He just wants to remove them for the oil? Oooookayyyyy...

He can start by not giving them 4 billion a year to ethnically cleanse Palestine.

American foreign policy for the past 15 years was to defeat Arab populist regimes and launch massive information warfare campaign. The Arab populist regimes are dead, Iraq is destroyed, Libya is in a civil war and Syria isn't seeing better days. The only populist ideology left is Islamic populism. I can tell there is a massive campaign against Islamic populism because im actually from an Arab background and at least understand Islamic theology.

Political Islam is in a pain in the ass for the America, Europe and Israel. The afghan mujahideen showcased how a large number of people can be mobilized with religion to war. American partnership with the gulf monarchies, are endlessly promoting some sort of pacifist Islam that isn't politicized. Solely to maintain American/Israeli interests in the region. You can see op'ed's in Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya promoting pieces like this: Is political Islam an obstacle to peaceful coexistence?

There's active involvement in turning influential and resource rich muslim majority countries into western style liberal democracies. They will essentially copy paste the western model into dividing the populace into groups and destroying cohesion. Gulf countries are already turning into these diverse so countries that value 'tolerance ' and 'openness'. It's taking time due to the traditional mindset of the populace. However, generation after generation seem to be more liberal than the ones before.

The only regime so far I've seen that give American foreign policy a problem are the Iranians. Their support for Hezbollah and their success in defending lebanon against Israel gives high moral to the Shia crescent or any muslim majority power that seeks to oppose the west. The Turk's look like they're trying to copy paste the Iranians since thats the only way they can actually spread their influence.

Ha! Obsessed with oil! Your grandparents grandparents weren't even around when the growth on this earth became obsessed with oil.

Um duh. (to the title). Trump is a con but also a puppet, don't ever forget that.

What evidence do you have?

That he's sitting in the White House.

I have alternate fact's based evidence! I have intelligence I don't need intelligence.

Nice argument man

Don't you find it interesting that Al Qaeda has essentially disappeared and ISIS has appeared? And lets face it, ISIS was named after the Archer show. It's a fucking joke and I can't believe people buy this shit.

AQ has done anything but disappear. They openly chose not to get involved in the Syrian civil War, instead using the Jabhat Al Nusra (JAN) as their proxy force. JAN had previously sworn an oath of allegiance to Zawahiri the leader of AQ. He released them from that oath in late 2016, in the hopes that without AQ affiliation JAN (barring the FSA and ISIS the largest and most effective fighting force in Syria) could unite all the other disparate factions around them. This hasn’t really worked as far as I can tell.

IMO AQ will be looking to launch attacks upon the West very soon, they are still very active in the Islamic world, but as your comment shows they have pretty much fallen off the Wests radar, having been replaced with ISIS, they want to be number 1 again.

Not only Iraq, but Iran as well..

We can expect Trump to pursue the foreign policy goals of the Likud. That means prosecuting the foretold "clash of civilisations" with Islam, and of course saying nothing about who is really behind "islamic terror".

Really interesting, thank you

We've been bombing the shit out of the middle east for over 15 years. It's never going to stop no matter who the president is, but the stated goal may change.
