Just wondering... Is that an incredibly difficult key to crack or something?

JFK

It's JFKs quote on the CIA.

While the length is good, it's not hard to crack because: 1. it's formulaic. The first letter is always capitalized. 2. No numbers 3. No special characters 4. It's using actual words.

But, as they have posted it on reddit, I don't think they're worried about people cracking it. :)

XKCD on password strength: https://xkcd.com/936/

That's kinda bullshit for every day passwords. Every day passwords are all about making sure other people can't remember them, not having a computer brute force it. If you've got a virus that's a keylogger you're already fucked and it doesn't matter what your password is.

It's more important for the user to remember their own password (lest they write it on a sticky and attach it to their monitor), and to rotate passwords often. Yes, many login portals have a check that blocks attempts after a few tries, but what if the hash leaks? What if that check is poorly implemented or the attacker finds some novel approach to bypassing the protection? http://www.websecgeeks.com/2015/06/bypass-brute-force-protection-login.html?m=1

Yeah, but if it's too complicated and all your passwords are different, you won't be able to remember them and you gotta write em down somewhere. It's always been a dilemma for me.

I just have one password that changes depending on what website I'm on.

Like change the first two letters (or whatever) to RT for ReddiT or FB for Facebook or what have you. It's been working like a charm for me for a few years.

That makes sense, whatever works for you. We all make sacrifices for convenience sake; but consider if someone figured out that formula... I applaud you for at least using a different password for each site. That puts you well ahead of the average user.

but consider if someone figured out that formula...

The only way for someone to do that would be with a keylogger or something. It's seemingly a bunch of random letters, numbers, and symbols that have meaning to me in that order.

Consider this scenario.

Emails, Usernames, and password hashes leak from reddit. Some malicious party puts in the effort and breaks the hash for your user. This person thinks "hmmm....The first couple of characters look like they could stand for Reddit...What happens if I test that theory against the email address attached?" Emails make great jumping off points for further exploitation. This is a fairly typical example.

How many two-letter combos could stand for Google/Gmail/yahoo/AOL/whatever? Not trying to be argumentative or malicious, just pointing out that your method of password generation meets the definition of formulaic and it can be difficult or impossible to anticipate every vector of attack.

Well hopefully they pay off my college loan then!

yeah I also have a formula for my passwords. It's complex enough that additional passwords couldn't be inferred even if a few of them were already known. But it's straightforward enough in my mind that I can always reference the memory easily and know what the password is.

That was only the case for brute force attacks using rainbow tables. It is much more common now for hackers to use dictionaries of common passwords and systematic combinations of these on hashed passwords. They can then add the discovered ones to the dictionary.

Here is a good article about how it works

And the password only needed to last < 24 hours.

Password complexity should always be considered in regards to the time it would take to generate a match.

Its formulaic, but is slightly altered from being a direct hem quote. Changing two words in the middle of the quote makes it incredibly hard to guess.

Even if you knew the code was a quote in general, that's millions of potential options. Adding a 1 to 3 word change takes that up to hundreds of times bigger.

I was just discussing this with my girlfriend. This password seems like one that would be ranked as too weak for like an online Costco account.

Ya I'm not buying that there is anything crazy in those files. I'm sure the best hackers have already opened it months ago. this is still nothing more than a distraction. I still believe WikiLeaks is compromised and they are just using it to tickle our toes.

I can't tell if this is satire anymore.

Just a minor glitch, pay it no mind.

I was just discussing this with my girlfriend. This password seems like one that would be ranked as too weak for like an online Costco account.

Don't think it's really meant to be a secure password. More a message and to keep idiots, real idiots out.

What's the source on this?

Nvm read the url

2 comments/users seem to be shadow banned.

what do you mean?

There are 5 comments (will be 6 with this one) registered on this post, but only two show up (three including this one).

odd.. the 2 hidden comments are mine. Obviously not hidden to me.. not sure why they would be hidden. I commented on another conspiracy post an hour ago and it was visible.

Try to make another root-level comment, not a reply to anyone except the post.

Your links got picked up by the automod so I approved them.

yeah sorry probably coz I used twitter links? thanks

Now all the comments are visible... Weird.

shadowban is my new mental justification for not getting more upvotes on my hilarious cynical comments. two months back i was cleaning house on upvotes. now nothing, 2pts tops on posts.

Theory: either i've lost the touch... or shadow banning only allows fellow shadowbanned redditors to read/reply/vote.

"1st rule of reddit club... don't talk about pg@te... club"

The mods need to have a sticky for this already..

They probably wait to see which thread gets the most traction before the decide what to sticky.

they just stickied it.

They should also probably unsticky that utterly useless AMA...

Awesome.

But they delete anything that goes against Trump.

Yes but a place where shills don't dare tread, or if they do they get zero traction. The_donald is, shall we say, excitable. That sub is like a lot of monster trucks in a field, driven by drunks. It's carnage but entertaining to watch.

so far the donald seems to have the jump on meaningful interpretation of the leak!

High energu

Thanks.

Thanks for the link! I am at work and was so excited for the clock to strike 9.

Am I missing something? I've said this before a whole bunch, but these leaks aren't anything we didn't already know. As of right now I guess. How does this relate to all the previous #Vault7 tweets (Antarctica, gold, 9/11, seed vaults?)

for starters this is only part 1, I expect the other releases will touch on those other topics.

Part 1, release information that the media is comfortable talking about. Part 2, release the hounds!!!!

How many parts? did WL say that?

Should be 7

Source?

Wikileaks is a fucking jerk off. We are not going to get anything if substance from them. I'm done getting hyped up for any of their shit from here on out. I suggest everyone do the same. Until they release black budget balance sheets of drug and arms dealings, or internal memos about government involvement in 9/11 or something juicy like that. I'm no longer going to pay attention to any of their bullshit. I'm just glad I didn't tell a lot of people about this like I did with the earlier leaks.

I'm starting to feel this way also. This isn't a sherlock Holmes book it's real life with real people and real consequences. Just drop the bomb.

You're right, this is real life, with real people, with real families and real consequences. Simply "dropping the bomb" in the current sociopolitical climate would be the most wreckless action ever taken in the history of humanity.

Were they to reveal verifiable documents that prove a CIA plot to kill JFK, just as an example, it would leave a deeper scar than the assassination itself. Were they to reveal with verifiable documents that 911 was an inside job, it would stop the clocks around the world.

Suddenly everyone would feel the way most of us here have felt at times before, with a deep sense of disillusionment, as though the floor was being pulled from underneath our feet. A necessary, yet painful learning process to be sure, but only if it happens gradually on your own terms. If it happens globally in a flash of revelations, the outcome could be catastrophic.

People would lose their minds but that's what we need we all came to the point of the world collapsing beneath our feet it's what got us to get up and take action.

I do agree that the world needs to know all of it, but I don't think "dropping the bomb" is the way to do it if we want to build a better future once the truth is on the table.

In all honesty, we're already moving faster than a lot of people can handle. I know many folks who are not familiar with the shadow world of secret agendas, who are getting very nervous by their world-construct being increasingly called into question by factual revelations about how the world really works. How many times have you heard people exclaim how ridiculous and film-like the events of 2016 have been, and we had only begun to scratch the surface then. Imagine the madness the full truth would cause.

To my mind, Wikileaks has found a pretty reasonable balance between revealing information as fast as possible, but slowly enough so as to avoid a public panic attack. We're gonna get there, straw by straw until we finally stack the straw on top that breaks the camel's back.

for the record wikileaks says on their site that they intentionally with-hold writing stories about everything to encourage other journalists to dig and find their own content. while that sounds ok in theory, there are indeed real consequences, and ultimately I think the way to move ahead is to be transparent with one another. secrecy is the problem, and we've started to actually believe its justified. privacy on the other hand...!? who needs that.

and what would've you done with anything they had posted that was "substantial"?

FFs It's easy to bitch about things you have nothing to do with ... words are Cheap.

it's much harder to Resolve problems, especially if all you do is Bitch about what other people aren't doing!

It might not contain anything we didn't already suspect, but having the documents for proof is important. Also, CIA having their own version of NSA is pretty big.

We didn't need proof, we all knew this already thanks to Snowden.. this is just Cia disinfo that will numb the population down when nothing is done about it. Not trying to concern tell, just stating a glaring counter narrative that I feel needs to be taken into consideration

Has anyone been brave enough to run the exe.s and dmg.s yet?

not i... but i got a mac so I cant anyway. happy to sit back on this one.. lol

That's what opens dmgs lol

shhhhh i aint touchin' it

should co-ordinate a massive live-stream/exe opening... 20000 people open it at once or something

I mean our machines are probably already infected with CIA's programs, but I'm not touching those either.

This would be a good use of an OS run virtually on VMWare. Then you can just trash it if it gets corrupt.

Unless they're using VM escapes (which they undoubtedly are)

VM escapes? Like software that can operate itself outside the VM it was run in, out onto the host machine?

Yes, by way of hypervisor or shared-resource exploits, etc. : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_machine_escape

I almost want to just find some 5 year old Acer on Craigslist just to see...

Other nations may not like this information so far lol.

That may be one of the points here: turn everyone against each other (or just the USA).

Or turn everyone against the CIA specifically...the current administration has the unique position of not having been party to any of it in the past, so although the rest of the world may get angry about it, the administration can make the appearance of dismantling all of it, whether they actually do or not, which would buy an incalculable amount of goodwill with the rest of the world.

That's exactly what this feels like. Either a limited hangout by the CIA to basically see what the public reaction will be to information that was already discussed publically before

Or

A very deliberate if not somewhat weak attack on the CIA and the political, international and public opinion of them.

Or turn everyone against the CIA specifically

I'm seeing three major US institutions currently ablaze. The intelligence community, the mainstream media, and higher education.

True. To be fair though, those are all things in which the CIA has its tentacles firmly embedded.

In the case of the latter, we already know what's coming as replacement; alternative media and online education.

Maybe they've got a replacement for the IC lined up, including rolling up the CIA?

I'd say we'll see, but we likely won't actually see. If they were to actually scatter it to the winds, that'd be okay. I feel like they're already larger than anything our govt. can do to them, given that they're all over the world...we could be unleashing a James Bond-style group like Spectre.

That may be one of the points here: turn everyone against each other (or just the USA).

I've heard rumor that Russia, China and Saudia Arabia have been barnstorming the globe in the past few weeks and months. Maybe they're building a coalition?

I get the impression that even on a good day, the CIA treats everyone else like turds. Perfumed turds if you've got enough money or something they want.

The big ones know already.

Tell me something I didn't know/assume. /puts aluminum hat back on.

Sike, but I knew the car thing was probably happening the first time I saw Mythbusters remote a car (not hack it---just rig it out)

this seems to be not so much about "what if" but actually more like "here's the proof".

Vice did a piece on hacking cars a few years ago

A lot of people were certain we were spied on, but Snowden gave the needed proof. Hopefully this will do the same.

cue the black ops script:
"But wikileaks is compromised!"

Its certainly something to keep in mind. Simply writing it off as a psyop is not the course of action. As with everything else, it deserves a healthy level of skepticism. Who's to say that writing off the "wikileaks is compromised" angle as a psyop is a psyop of its own, to give it credibility and discredit anyone questioning it.

merely ask 'who benefits'?
Who benefits from wikileaks still remaining available? The people of the world. Who benefits from the assertion that wikileaks is compromised? the fucking criminal CIA. So give it up, wikileaks.org is legit.

Yeah but the CIA possibly now running wikileaks themselves gives them the most powerful PR tool out there. They can release "fake news" and condemn anyone all under the guise of an organization that's working for the people of the world. It's healthy to keep an open mind to the possibility that Wikileaks just may have been compromised. Assange should show his face out on his balcony or somewhere live to at least discredit any psyop theories and fears.

is it healthy to keep an open mind that santa clause might really exist?

Great comparison dude /s

Agreed, people need not forget that the wiki leaks tools for publishing showed to be likely hijacked a few months ago. And after all, their capabilities and the impact it was making for credence to motive and know how. Stay vigilant, stay informed, stay skeptical

What do you mean by out On his balcony? Is he not showing up for a while now? Does he has a habit of showing himself every couple weeks or what?

I would say the CIA benefits more from having Wikileaks available as controlled opposition. So they release the "bombshells" of "the CIA is spying on everyone" and everyone believes that Wikileaks is still alive and well. Meanwhile they withhold the ACTUAL bombshells - things that would put Obama/Clinton/Trump (whoever they work for) in jail.

This isn't necessarily what I believe, I still have hope that Wikileaks is operating normally. I simply believe that we need to be aware of other possibilities. Telling someone to "stop talking about that" so vehemently isn't constructive.

This is exactly why Wikileaks appears to be compromised.

Oct 27 raid. Still haven't seen Julian on his balcony. Just in interviews which can be faked. Funny how that tech isn't here.

If the CIA is so capable of hacking anything why wouldn't they just hack their twitter account while his internet was cut and trash his rep with stupid shit posts and asking for proof of life while being unable to do so at the time due to the U.N did not give him the all clear from criminal charges.

It is also an angle to think of. And after he regains control if he were to say that wikileaks twitter was hacked it would forever tarnish the credibility regardless as people would always question him. It's kind of a win win move from the CIA if you look at it through that lens.

Gee, I wonder why he wouldn't want to present himself as a perfect target for assassination?

things that would put Obama/Clinton/Trump (whoever they work for) in jail.

Blowing up the CIAs spot just to protect Hillary?

I have to wonder if this was another move by Obama.

Russia and Trump. Wikileaks has a huge name, if the Russians have compromised Wikileaks they can drop information gathered by them with semi-impunity.

Trump talks about being bugged: boom leak information related to bugging. Be real it's Trump who benefits, it's also his friend who claim to have back channels with Assange.

Assange refuted the back channel claim. As to Russia compromising wikileaks.org, that sounds more like what the CIA would want us to believe, wouldn't you say? Considering wikileaks.org has a perfect record.

To approach it critically we have to look at who benefits. Whe can draw a connection when looking at the latest leaks. Coupled with the aspect that Wikileaks obfuscated and removed Russian entries from their leaks last year also adds to this picture.

source?

CIA or any intelligence for that matter could simply feed WikiLeaks some limited hangouts wrapped in hysteria for the masses to consume. They might even do this when they know the info already got breached. Say the CIA gets breached by China and they log/detect it somehow. Or they catch wind of it through back channel spies. Now China has the info and can use it privately to their benefit or negotiation with other countries, that is until the CIA "WikiLeaks" it and shows China how to play 4D Chess.

On the surface, it once again seems like WikiLeaks continues to put out material that benefits the Trump administration. Will it benefit us though?

Let's see what effect this actually has in the coming months...

The problem I have with the quote "splinter them into a thousand pieces and scatter them into the wind" is you've just created a nasty dust storm that's harder to keep in check.

I think wikileaks.org is actually attempting to bait Trump into giving them more visibility, since Trump needs to make his case that the deep state is manufacturing the Russia story.
What is Trump to do, hold up evidence that the CIA can make it look like Russia is attacking? Or minimize the leaks to try and save the CIA?
Seems like Trump has no choice. The chessmaster here continues to be wikileaks.org

I could see that easily. This could all very well be a limited hangout for Wikileaks to regain some much needed credibility after their subreddit, twitter feed, and the embassy haven't felt "right" in close to six months.

Explain that live interview with Hannity.

Honestly, I have no idea, I'm just a citizen in the private sector. I don't know the extent of technology in our world. I just learned today that my car's functions can be remotely fucked with from 12 miles away. Parent Trap did a pretty good job of making it look like there were 2 Lindsay Lohans. I truly have absolutely no idea how they could do it, but I'm finding it more and more possible with each passing day.

That's not to say my mind is made up. It's possible all is well with Julian and leaks are back to normal. But as the other poster mentioned, skepticism doesn't hurt. There is a lot of video evidence of Assange and there is also video evidence of UFOs so you have to regard the source of each. Fox News, and Hannity especially haven't generally got my best interests at heart, I think.

Just a dose of dissent! You may be right! But I personally don't think it's wholly settled yet.

Explain that live interview with Hannity.

That pile of garbage? The interview, that is.

You really think Hannity was starring at Assange's junk the whole time?

The limited hangout was the "cia confirms astral projection" mumbo jumbo a few weeks ago. Everywhere on facebook. Ilikefuckingscience and everything

Who's to say that writing off the "wikileaks is compromised" angle as a "black ops script" isn't some kind of manipulation of its own?

Gods, sometimes I really hate this spook bullshit. It's like the Iocane Powder scene in The Princess Bride.

The moment I see anyone trying to discredit WikiLeaks, Snowden, or anything generally accepted here I immediately think shill!!

careful the mods don't like direct accusations

I don't care about the mods, this is 1 of 100 throwaways. I was saying anyone who says Wikileaks is a limited hangout for example immediately gets a shill tag from me.

tags eh....

So I can identify them when they're not shilling

How the CIA dramatically increased proliferation risks In what is surely one of the most astounding intelligence own goals in living memory, the CIA structured its classification regime such that for the most market valuable part of "Vault 7" — the CIA's weaponized malware (implants + zero days), Listening Posts (LP), and Command and Control (C2) systems — the agency has little legal recourse.

The CIA made these systems unclassified.

Why the CIA chose to make its cyberarsenal unclassified reveals how concepts developed for military use do not easily crossover to the 'battlefield' of cyber 'war'.

To attack its targets, the CIA usually requires that its implants communicate with their control programs over the internet. If CIA implants, Command & Control and Listening Post software were classified, then CIA officers could be prosecuted or dismissed for violating rules that prohibit placing classified information onto the Internet. Consequently the CIA has secretly made most of its cyber spying/war code unclassified. The U.S. government is not able to assert copyright either, due to restrictions in the U.S. Constitution. This means that cyber 'arms' manufactures and computer hackers can freely "pirate" these 'weapons' if they are obtained. The CIA has primarily had to rely on obfuscation to protect its malware secrets.

(Emphasis mine.) What is the legal significance of this lack of classification going forward?

In a nutshell it means anyone responsible for the code getting into the wild is immune from prosecution. It's not secret, not classified, hell it's not even copyrighted. No laws were broken (wiggle word technicality).

Mame them unclassified so they can leave them non-classified systems, or else you would have classified information on a non-classified system

Is it illegal to DL this file? I am assuming it will be partly comprised of classified/secret/top secret documents.

There is stuff in here classified as SECRET/NOFORN for sure... Or at least it was SECRET at the time of it's acquisition...

If you don't want to download, have a look here instead: https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/

ELI5? They're attacking and spying on us through Tvs phones and all that, we knew that, didn't we?

Yes, but this gives more validity to the public.

How? There wasn't ever a doubt regarding this. People--en masse--just don't care. It's not like anyone was dismissing it before.

Except if I said the CIA was spying on people through their TVs yesterday, I would have been mocked and called a conspiracy theorist.

No way there is a reason people have been taping their Webcam's for awhile now

Did we know that they have the ability to install a completely undetectable channel on any mac to remote access it?

It isn't a surprise, and that's the point that was made in this comment chain. come on dude scroll up and read.

Not saying it's a surprise at all, cmon dude think about the entirety of the situation. This is a demonstration of the capabilities of the CIA, it's the next parts of the release that will be more important

Once the attention shifts away from this leak you will most likely go back to being called a conspiracy theorist for saying the CIA listens to people through SmartTV microphones. People have short memories and even shorter attention spans for this kind of information.

& they don't have time to adress the CIA fucking them over.
The life of a good citizen is filled with enough obstructions alone, they hand over that responsability to the government in return for a false feeling of safety & good conscience.

No, you wouldn't have. This was part of Snowden's leak. The fact that this capability is there and that it has been actively used is literally years old news. No one would have called you a conspiracy theorist--you just think that because people who care about this have martyr complexes most of the time.

It's not that most people think it's a conspiracy. It's that most people don't care, because they have bigger issues they're worried about.

This is the scariest part of ot all, no one is really batting an eye at this.

Because the average person has much bigger problems to deal with.

Maybe we should use this as an opportunity to communicate with them? Everyone start talking to your tvs and phones as if the CIA is listening because THEY ARE! Tell them we want more money. I honestly don't care if they know what kind of porn I like or not.

Yeah, like how I'd really like to fuck that hot little redhead down at the convenience store. You know, the one with the eye-patch and the clubfoot?

15 comments on my status all along the lines of "This isn't news" "They're a spy agency what did you expect" "Flynt, Travel Ban, and EPA are more important"

we knew the NSA was doing that shit. Now we have proof the CIA is doing that shit. and now we know how all our tech is being further exploited to keep track of us.

also, the consulate in Frankfurt is a hacking base for the CIA to have access to the MENA region.

Perhaps more subtle of a point is that the CIA is engaged in an arms race of spy-tech with the NSA:

Since 2001 the CIA has gained political and budgetary preeminence over the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). The CIA found itself building not just its now infamous drone fleet, but a very different type of covert, globe-spanning force — its own substantial fleet of hackers. The agency's hacking division freed it from having to disclose its often controversial operations to the NSA (its primary bureaucratic rival) in order to draw on the NSA's hacking capacities.

Thanks Georgie Boy.

They also allegedly lost control of their box of magic toys. So that ability is now in the hands of an unknown number of foreign intelligence services, organized crime groups or terrorist organizations.

Oh great, and what was exactly in this "box of magic toys"? This basically means any nation with the right tools can back into our Tbs and phones and spy on us?

yes, and its not only spying tools, also tools that control medical equipment, cars , planes ect

...military hardware, power plants and grids, stock exchanges, office and factory equipment; the list of national security threats is almost endless. It's only a matter of time before some "sleeper malware awakens and we get a meltdown, maybe the whole spectrum simultaneously. Seriously, I'll be surprised if the internet is still up in 5 years.

It's only a matter of time before some "sleeper" malware awakens and we get a meltdown, maybe the whole spectrum simultaneously.

The next 911!

I wonder who will cop the "Blame"?

[The comment above likely has (one or more) prank links]:

"Rick Roll"

#bot

What would America do if the electricity has turned off? Th CIA and wherever got ahold of the 'magic box' of tools has the power to do that.

Depending on the tools, any script kiddie might use them.

imagine if any asshole could get his hands on a robust program that could remotely control real cars. What an absolutely amazing shit show that would be!

Not only nations, the mob, belo-russian crime syndicates, isis, anyone.

This is how we destroy ourselves.

This is HUGE. I was trying to explain to a co-worker that these exploits will have to be fixed. Possibly thousands of vulnerabilities will have to be fixed across hundreds of different systems. It's probably in the billion dollar range as far as work that now must be done. Once these are out there and anyone can exploit them then they must be fixed.

It's called Plausible Deniability

They also know how to manufacture evidence against any given party, by leaving digital "finger prints" that make it look like the actions occured somewhere else, like, lets pretend, Russia for example.

Hmmm I wonder what they'd use that against Russia for.

That's why McAfee said if there was evidence it was Russia then it was certainly not Russia. Some of the "evidence" they presented was the name of the computer had the name of an old Russian chief of police... Hackers do that apparently.

we knew the NSA was doing it.

We knew the NSA did it. This is the CIA, with no oversight and with even worse abuse of privacy.

A big part of this that you may be missing is that it's the CIA doing it with no accountability, pulling shady shit across the world. They have been actively exploiting this capability against enemies of the deep state.

It also shows how disturbing and vast the reckless weaponization of cyberwar techniques and weaponry are in practice under the CIA. Not only is this terribly unethical in the first place but it also has incredible potential for catastrophic results across the world if lost to the wrong people (which is very possible).

We thought that. Now we know that.

Good god, they're really trying to dilute any organized conversation with this, I've never seen so much repost on the front page of this sub at one time. Wondering why the mods aren't addressing this?

megathread was only just stickied so I expect it will clean itself up soon.

This is the stickied post. As this posts creator can you add to your OP post (assuming it is a text submission)so that, in the sub itself people can click on a summary of the thread from the sub itself without opening the comment section. Right now this submission does not have additional text, it is just a submission title.

I am doing a really shitty job of explaining what I mean..lol.. There is not a button that people can click on when browsing the sub so they can get a summary of the thread in an expansion box underneath the submission title that is displayed when browsing the sub.

I've been deleting repost threads for over an hour...?

doesn't hurt to have a flood on a legitimate breaking news story that everyone is interested in. The flood waters will go down naturally if they come up naturally.

Agreed! I'm just talking about self posts that were literally the same words and ones with BREAKING in all caps or IT'S HAPPENING (hate that one).

Cool, yeah. Thanks.

I wasn't personally attacking you? And I was talking about the posts on the front page, the ones people immediately see when they venture to this sub. I do appreciate it though. This is pretty big indeed.

There's a reason they allowed 1984 by George Orwell to be written. It puts as much fear into the society as it informs them. Eric Blair was part of the elite. Motive could have been the fear and stifling effect just as easily as to educate.

This information has been out for years:

Patriot Act. NDAA. etc.

I think the fact that we're talking about the CIA is what's significant. Also interesting the mention of the CIA in the car crash article.

It's astounding how much has become common talk these days. I know more people than ever that are talking about politics.

There's safety in the herd. If everyone's talking about this, they can't do shit. Everyone in Oceania knew that Big Brother sucked. If everyone knew that everyone knew, the system would have collapsed.
That's why we need this to be common knowledge.

Yeah. There's definitely an upside to it. I hope it pans out that way. I just don't want it to be like in my imagination of the past where everyone feared the Gestapo and the extraordinary powers they did or didn't have. Blanket of fear over the land stifled rebellion and encouraged conformity.

did you know zebra stripes aren't camoflage for the grass, it's camoflage to blend in with the herd. preservationists/scientists started finding out the hard way when they put tags and markings on individual zebras. the lions always killed the ones that stood out.

For a second I thought the scientists were killed by the lions. Its been a long week.

This is now a farside style cartoon in my head.

I love these little snippets of intelligence here and there on reddit. Thank you for this.

it's camoflage to blend in with the herd

My mate suggested baseball caps did the same thing! lol

Pretty sure the navy has done something similar with ships. Painted them in a way that obscures the shape of it and makes it harder to target.

I saw this in a video the other day. Jordan Peterson?

Hypernormalisation

That seems like a really interesting concept. I've had that feeling for a while now, but haven't been able to articulate it. Thanks.

Check out the Adam Curtis documentary on BBC

Just watched it. Whoo boy. Interesting times we're living in.

It's hyperbole in some spots, I don't fully agree with his assessment of certain things but i think we are VERY close to the same type of societal state as late Soviet Russia

It really does seem like no one is in control. How it's a theater to create an impression of order. Especially the part about Russians openly supporting opposing political groups is eerily familiar. I wonder what this all is leading to.

glasnost and perestroika, and that out of control feeling, were harbingers of the fall of the soviet union.

There's no safety in the herd when the herd is inside a corral. All of the herd are there to be eaten.

There was no "allowing" anything when it came to such things as Blair writing 1984. He just wrote it. You trying to insinuate that MI5 had a top secret meeting trying to decide whether the book should be published? Ridiculous.

Yeah. I could have worded that better, but the dynamic stands. Fear of being spied on by a dark nefarious unknown force definitely affects behavior even on a society wide scale.

Yeah, we agree on the for sure.

Who is Blair?

Eric Arthur Blair, aka "George Orwell".

Oh. Thanks.

That is the entire point of a panopticon, but unfortunately even that analogy falls extremely short in describing the depth of such a system as it is now.

No it's exactly the idea they're using.

They had trouble funding 'Snowden'. You're suggesting 1984 is controlled opposition? I mean... now you're just fantasizing.

The chilling effect of being told you are being spied on is very legitimate and real.

They had trouble funding 'Snowden'.

Did they? Why do you say that, because Oliver Stone said so?

haha probably

Yeah, when I heard about what was in the release, I was surprised that was it, because I'd known that for a while, actually even started deleting certain apps and what not (I'm sure that really worked lol)

I was wondering why the release was so hyped, so theatrical. I pertly think it's just cause WikiLeaks wants to feel cool, why shouldn't they, but also I think when it's hyped like that, people want to get involved, like when people put together clues from like a mystery game. People are invested. Even though it's not necessarily new knowledge, now a ton more people are talking about it

Hopefully good comes out of it. Snowden had a similar effect with his leaks. Not sure what the end result will be, but hopefully the executive, legislative, or judicial branch can get this surveillance state under control.

I just don't see how that is going to happen peacefully. The ones that have the power to fix this are very likely compromised in various ways. Will they all turn on each other? Or will they act concerned and do nothing? Create a massive false flag to distract us?

I'm having a hard time trying to picture the end game here.

By an overwhelming margin, the best consequence of such leaks is the increased proliferation of open source, well-implemented strong cryptography. We have the power to make the Internet dark to the central planners.

As much as I would like for this to be true, if the exploits are at the hardware level, strong encryption on the software layer might not be good enough. I've yet to really dig into these leaks yet, though.

I think there was new knowledge with this release. Yes we already knew they spy on us, but now we know they lost control of the tools and ANYONE can use them. That's what the discussion should be about, imo.

Idk, I think the discussion should still be about our own government working outside the law to conduct mass surveillance on it's own citizens

I don't think people knew the CIA could hack basically any device hooked up to the internet. Or that they could hack cars and planes and make it look like an assassination. Voting machines?

Plus, according to Wikileaks, this is only 1% of the leaks.

Hey is the code relaesed yet ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

I suspect books such as 1984 and Brave New World are taught as a way to weed out insurgents. Can you imagine a kid doing his book report saying "This is exactly what's going on in the United States today...". What would happen to them and their family?

What would happen to them and their family?

Absolutely nothing.

nothing. I was that student

You're probably on a list.

This and the fact that they hyped this release and it's all a lot of stuff that's already known makes me start to really think wiki leaks is co-opted

Check out the default threads on this topic. Sure, from what I've seen there's nothing really new here, but it's becoming real to a broader audience. You and I were not the target audience of this release.

There's a reason they allowed 1984 by George Orwell to be written

Nobody "allowed" Orwell to write a book!

Don't be silly ... OR hustle up some Proof

Which is why I drive a shitty car...well, one of the reasons

lmao

I'm with you dude

also why I have a shitty TV

...& haven't changed my boxers in several years....

weaponized underwear. We're doomed.

Quick, get the underwear zero day!

you mean the Zero Underwear Day

The Al Bundy approach to life.

Time to drain drain that swamp buddy.

I did long ago...shoulda prolly changed back then.

Alas....

LOL perfect, you have a wonderful day.

You, too, friend. You, too.

Biological warfare call the ATF!

The holes mean you don't even have to bother to take them off to shit. It's what they call in the corporate world, a win-win.

I don't have a cell phone

And time to downgrade to a flip phone

BOX TV BABY.

WOOO WOO!

My TV is dumb as fuck!! :P

Upvote for the joke, but I hope everyone realizes they could just take another car and pummel you with your terrible safety standards.

It really pisses me off that MsM won't declare the CIA the enemy of the people. After the last few batches of CIA info re: French elections or MKultra etc, they need to bring attention to the people how the CIA is working against them.

Russia and Putin are less of a threat to me than USofA and the bloody CIA !

stop it russian shill

Wouldn't hold my breath on MSM turning on CIA. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird

well aware of this. it is sad that the vast majority of the people don't know about it. and when they do find out, they probably don't care :(

I clicked on the family jewles link witch was another massive CIA leak. I read about it a bit and Fidel Casto, who was revlead to be the target of assination attempts by the CIA said this/ "the United States was still a "killing machine" and that the revealing of the documents was an attempt at diversion"

Weird with others theories that this is likely a diversion BY the CIA

H.W. ended Mockingbird in the 70s. It's not still going on.

/s

That's because the MSM is also the enemy of the people. They won't bite the hands that feeds them. Especially now that they're dying and becoming irrelevant, they need the paycheck more then ever.

agreed, fuck the media !

Fuck the media? Countries without free press have the most corrupt governments.

You're right, the United States of America.

Yes, the current state of media is shameful. Obviously my blanket claim that all media is the same and should be dismantled is childish.

You are correct that state media hides state corruption but not like free press has saved America from becoming the most corrupt country in all history !

Yes. You are correct. Case in point, the US has not had a free press since the 60s or earlier.

Who's saying we shouldn't have a free press? Freedom of the press is not freedom from criticism, nor does it guarantee a lack of collusion and corruption.

Case in point Jeff Bezos, the owner of the infamous Washington Post, openly having a several hundred million CIA contract.

For what

Building them a new hack center I'm sure.

That's billed as "Bezos" own personal blog. Such a joke, the definition of a 'liberal rag' and a sorry excuse for real non-bias journalism. The contract is for 600 million for services rendered; that's just wrong and outrageous on so many different levels.

Don't forget about "alexia" the personal assistant that is always listening.

maybe the MSM are part of the CIA?

WHen you have news anchors like Anderson Cooper who actually trained for the CIA?

Why... never!

AC is also the son of Gloria Vanderbilt. He's connected to old money going way back.

MSM IS the CIA, for all intents and purposes. Expect a smear job or silence.

The MsM is the enemy of the people though too. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the CIA or a company pays the MsM money not to talk about this.

Anderson Cooper has intel community ties, Fox basically was the state media network during the Bush years, and can we really expect Comcast to help us?

The media IS the CIA.

"lol why wont Triple letter agencys propaganda unit criticize its executive branch"

hmm idk

Of course, because the people who run the MSM are connected with the people that make money of the CIA. The black money comes from every nefarious act you can think of, then they use that money to fund operations that make even more money. They are the ultimate cash cow that operates in the fringes of the darkness.

I posted this on another thread but...An odd observation I made while reading through the files, under Android exploits a lot of the Malware programs used are named after pokemon. I find this odd because of all the hype for Pokémon Go and read numerous times that the program was just a spy program for the government. Probably just coincidental but I thought it was worth noting.

Can u post a pic of it?

I just linked the page with the names of the Android files it was too much to post a pic of

Well, this is a fun game. Apparently, there is a secret nuclear reactor called "Slowpoke" but it's from a different leak. link

Wow...down the rabbit hole it goes I guess good find wonder if anything else oddly has a similar name attached

It's a lot of fun. I just found an e-mail discussing what a Bulbasaur was, which ended with, "This message is a PRIVATE communication. This message contains privileged and confidential information intended only for the use of the addressee(s). If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any dissemination, disclosure, copying, distribution or use of the information contained in this message is strictly prohibited. If you received this email in error or without authorization, please notify the sender of the delivery error by replying to this message, and then delete it from your system."

It's not sinister or anything, but I laughed at it.

That's pretty funny let us know if you find anything else funny/cool

This is significant because most people really don't know what the CIA does. In this sub we have a pretty good idea. We're aware they're used as a propaganda printing arm, we know they control all the movies/tv/news agencies. General public understanding of the functions of the CIA seems pretty nonexistent.

But now the whole world knows CIA remotely kills people with their own cars, listens to all of our devices, can hack into things and make it appear as if another country did the hacking (Russia), and generally has the potential to hold anyone anywhere at any time ransom and make them dance. Even the most powerful people in the world.

Even the most powerful people in the world.

We don't know they do it, we know they can do it. Anyone who is a little bit critical has known they can do it for a very long time.

What you're doing here is incredibly transparent. How do you sleep at night?

But now the whole world knows CIA remotely kills people with their own cars, listens to all of our devices, can hack into things and make it appear as if another country did the hacking (Russia), and generally has the potential to hold anyone anywhere at any time ransom and make them dance. Even the most powerful people in the world.

What makes you think that other countries don't have these exact same capabilities?

Other country's intelligence agency leaks didn't come out today

I didn't say they did, what are you talking about?

Apparently whataboutism is only whataboutism if you're using it to defend "the evils of Russia" but not if you're using it to defend home grown American evil

I would assume Americas capabilities are the best in the world.

It's not safe bet that other powers have the same capabilities

If any other powers do have these abilities I would suggest only a limited number.

The military has a large role in propaganda. They have a production studio outside of Hollywood. FYI

Indeed, the DoD and pentagon have consulted and bankrolled several films over the years. Did you happen to come across that list that was leaked? All propaganda to push their agenda.

Top comment on /r/technology right now:

TLDR; CIA has more hacking capabilities than the NSA, including hundreds of zero-day exploits to gain access to 99% of devices on the planet without revealing these exploits to manufacturers as the US government has agreed to.

Hundreds of zero-days is incredible

ELI5?

It is an exploit that exists at the time the product is released.

Wrong. A zero day exploit is an exploit that is not publicly known yet.

zero-day exploit

A zero day vulnerability refers to a hole in software that is unknown to the vendor. This security hole is then exploited by hackers before the vendor becomes aware and hurries to fix it—this exploit is called a zero day attack.

Not that why you're saying is wrong, but I understood it as a vulnerability available as soon as the software is released (zero day)

So imagine something being released tomorrow, like a brand new car, that can already be manipulated to disable brakes and jerk it's steering right at 65mph

Guns that automatically shoot you in the back of the head multiple times.

It's called suicide

But the other poster is correct.

that's an incorrect definition. The term "zero days" refers specifically to how many days its been since the vulnerability has been known publicly. I.e. how many days the vendor has had to patch it.

No it refers to how many days since the security flaw has been patched. Zero means there is no patch.

Aha now I understand 'Year Zero'.

What makes a zero-day exploit different from any other exploit?

CIA finds vulnerabilities in new electronics (iPhone, Android, smart TVs, etc.) either before release or on release and exploits them, but doesn't let the manufacturers know so that the exploits can be patched.

Raising the conspiracy ante: Instead of just finding the vulnerabilities, who is to say they don't have people working at the developer to discretely create them?

Absolutely. Look at what happened to TrueCrypt in 2014.

What are you referring to? Government actors didn't put vulnerabilities in truecrypt...

Back in 2014 there was some crazyness where large portions of the source code changed abruptly, and some anonymous dev posted a warning on the Truecrypt homepage:

“WARNING: Using TrueCrypt is not secure as it may contain unfixed security issues”

“This page exists only to help migrate existing data encrypted by TrueCrypt.”

“The development of TrueCrypt was ended in 5/2014 after Microsoft terminated support of Windows XP. Windows 8/7/Vista and later offer integrated support for encrypted disks and virtual disk images. Such integrated support is also available on other platforms (click here for more information). You should migrate any data encrypted by TrueCrypt to encrypted disks or virtual disk images supported on your platform.”

Say you're working on an open source project and get a gag order saying you aren't allowed to remove some flaw. What do you do? I don't know about you, but me, I'd do something like change the homepage to warn people without mentioning the flaw and raise enough red flags that security types get the message:

https://krebsonsecurity.com/2014/05/true-goodbye-using-truecrypt-is-not-secure/

Oh okay I knew that, I thought you were implying they had verified a vulnerability was put in.

The large code base change was just removal of features though, removal of encryption so people could only use it to decrypt.

It's not a farfetched idea. We already have companies who make products defective on purpose.

Thats far more feasible.

CIA does recruitment at my school. I study compE, and that's the goal of a lot of my peers. That, NSA and lockheed Martin

So many other paths to take, that's unfortunate. They will become more of the problem than the rest of us that do nothing after knowing this information. Selling out to evil corp for job security and benefits. Sad.

i believe this is confirmed as true as part of the leak but i do not have a source. if so it is being overlooked as its kind of huge

This has been confirmed I think in the leaks

It's so much worse that than.. This is how it goes. The agency recruits and hires the best of the best in these specific fields, and then uses their considerable influence to get these people job interviews for coding jobs at the top tech companies in the world. Once they, they place hidden backdoors in the source code that their employers supposedly don't know about.

That's shady af.

Basically just a normal exploit except its been present since the very first day of release meaning it has always been vulnerable. Usually these exploits are found and fixed soon but since no one was ever made aware of them, they're still present and are still being used by the CIA.

Zero day vulns are vulnerabilities that are either on their zero day of discovery or undisclosed vulns, has nothing to do with when the product was released.

Zero-days are exceedingly rare holes which allow exploits for breaking into software, which the manufacturers are not aware of. They are sold on the dark web for up to $500,000 for things like the iOS etc.

Here's a pretty good/quick documentary on it

Hey is the code relaesed yet ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

To get into it? I think so. The ones I saw earlier could be shitposts though.

SO the password is not relaesed yet ??? it's overdue

I mean...I feel like since ppl are posting links all over the place and talking about what's in it, the pw is out.

HaHAHAHAHAAHAHA is this a conspiracy ????????? I'm the only one who does not know the password ?????????????????????????????

I personally don't b/c I don't fully trust it to not be a honeypot of some kind, so the only way I'd even download the torrent is with some shitty throw-away computer. I'll gladly sit back and let others' research come to me though.

it is

Yes. It was released an hour early.

okay can you give me the password please ?

Exceedingly rare? Code is most vulnerable at release.

How many known zero-days do you think exist out there in the wild for iOS/Java/Norton/Windows etc.? It's the fact that they STILL exist that makes them rare.

Are you sure about your term 'exceedingly rare'? I would argue the opposite

For many apps, yes. For the major ones, which are touted as secure, no.

Do you mind explaining for those of us who are less technologically literate please haha

I got ya, in a reply further up, and here's the vice documentary on it:

https://youtu.be/UPXctbdBth0

Cheers mate!

Got another link? It's not available.

This. Please speak, when you can, like you are Al Gore talking at a Debate. You know, like I'm a 3rd Grader.

One might call it a... Zero Year

Unbelievable, with some many juicy nuggets in this leak, geez, this is particularly juicy. If it was still a secret, they have fully been outed for the power-hungry, evil bastards that they are.

I think the leak probably still helps the CIA, I'd be surprised if it didn't have a statistically measurable chilling effect.

But hopefully it backfires on them in a way. The people aren't the ones soullessly fucking up millions of lives. Keeping the pressure on and shining lights on the shit. The light helps ups as we're much closer to virtue than them.

Well, he blew their cover in Frankfurt, I'm sure that's going to have consequences.

This was just released, Assange hasn't even gone through it all, there is a treasure trove of info buried deep in there.

I'm sure the Germans knew.

Are these "classified" technologies? if so, wouldnt it be technically illegal to use these exploits on the internet which would essentially be putting classified info online? Maybe this was there way of releasing information and giving themselves a loophole to use it legally (or maybe have a contractor use it).

Wikileaks covered this in their intro.

This is directly from the Wikileaks press release:

The CIA made these systems unclassified.

This means that cyber 'arms' manufactures and computer hackers can freely "pirate" these 'weapons' if they are obtained. The CIA has primarily had to rely on obfuscation to protect its malware secrets.

From here:

They're going to justify their war with Russia one way or another, this looks like a win-win for the CIA, spy on everybody then if they get caught (as they now have) it'll be used as justification for war

Yet another conspiracy theory proven to be true.

We've been talking about Smartphone and Samsung TV's "listening in" on the owner for months. But the people over at r/worldnews are absolutely tripping over this right now!

Months ---> years ---> decades.

We've been on this without absolute proof for a long time. As technology has advanced to the point that your TV has an Android OS, hell to the point where every TV available for new purchase has a similar OS it's become increasingly obviously that they will be exploitable. And we all know if something is exploitable it's going to be exploited. And if it's being exploited then every major state player in the world is going to have a hand in the bag.

What was always frustrating to me when people write off a conspiracy theory about technology being used as a backdoor to violate our rights, technology has always been used this way by government.

As soon as radios existed they were making bugs, as soon as magnetic storage existed they were recording us. As soon as video cameras existed they were filming us. I can't think of a single advancement that hasn't been used against us.

GPS, email, smartphones...

Literally anything with a computer in it is hackable. I promise you if the CIA didn't have these tools, someone else would and they would likely be using it the exact same way. Not trying to normalize the issue, just saying for reference.

CIA has the money. If they cant get to it themselves they just buy/trade for it.

Just because someone else would do it if it wasn't them, isn't good enough. Pretty sure that was the standard defense at the post-war trials for nazi war criminals.

Oh come on man. You're gonna bring Nazis into this?

So you're saying that if our enemies want to use cyber warfare to attack us and other allied countries, well it's just not good enough excuse for us to use those exact same tools on them? I hope that's not what you're getting at...

And to clarify I'm clearly separating the use of hacking tools against enemies vs using them against US citizens, which of course the latter I would strongly oppose.

Yea, but here's the deal. To create these, turn them loose in a real-world environment, lost control of them and allow others to use them is completely irresponsible and criminal.

I absolutely 100% guarantee you these tools have/would exist with or without the CIA's assistance.

And to develop hacking tools is not illegal. Depending on how you use them would determine its legal status.

Right, but you don't create something like that if you aren't going to use it and again, you don't create something like that, use it, lose control of it and then think that's cool.

Hey I do actually agree with all of the points you just made!

The CIA brought Nazis into this first

We've been on this without absolute proof for a long time.

Put it this way, if we could think up ways technology could be exploited, the CIA/NSA certainly thought of them too - and once they had the idea for a potential "weapon" you can be damned sure they made it a reality.

This is just confirmation that the CIA/NSA are doing exactly what they are designed to do.

Seems like people of evil character or no conscience would find that a well paying gig with plenty of power gratification and worship by MSM and many idiots.

Hah that reminds me why hubby is being like he is about CIA. He has/had an uncle he worshipped working for them supposedly. Can't believe I forgot.

I think the Michael Hastings story should be pushed to the forefront. It definitely needs to be revisited.

His name was Michael Hastings and he was a goddamn American Patriot!

people write off a conspiracy theory about technology being used as a backdoor to violate our rights

The only people doing that were the ones who were ignorant of technology. I think that any person who was familiar enough with modern technology and previous revelations regarding the intelligence agencies saw this as an obvious reality.

medicine, transportation, infrastructure, construction, communication... technology generally makes qol and opportunity better for all from fire to the stirrup to the cell phone

This is true, but state secrecy laws allowed the government to ignore our Constitutional rights in all cases.

For me it's been at least 6 years as I refused ro buy a smart tv and had to search for a regular flat screen. Hubby shrugged it off but he used to be so passionate about this and talking about his 80s ans early 90s hacker days and Pringles cans and a guy he knew getting prison for hacking a phone company directory without trial or jury just buried in prison and denied they had him.

Now he just gave up and sticks his head in video games and stupid joke reddit sections. I think he let the r/all community convince him we are idiots sometimes. He was all about Sanders and did not appreciate my prediction he would get the RNC Ron Paul treatment.

I miss our conspiracy chats. Now he gets snappy when I talk about moon landing being faked with our son but I give the kid both sides and let him decide and I tell him even id we disagree I am always proud as long as he examines an issue from various sides and thinks critically.

Anyway he pretty much told me I let Alex Jones make me paranoid and I don't really watch the guy much. It is just a philosophy of if it can be used against is of course both criminals and govt criminals aka employees will.

And he loves to talk about and use encryption. Like we use signal and red phone.

Meh... I told you so never came out of lips today but he just shrugged. So? And went back to his game room with his smart tv.

Speaking of I meed go recover my phone cameras. Can't even remove the battery anymore.... that's on purpose. Mic is always available to uncle sam now even when it's turned off.

It should honestly surprise no one that all this "smart" technology is vulnerable.

But the people over at r/worldnews are absolutely tripping over this right now!

It is hilarious. I used to post here and in the default subs with the same account. The response is always, this guy is a conspiracy nut. Then time after time we are proven true. And still they keep on believing what the MSM tells them to believe.

They're in psychological capture.

Voluntary

Don't discount the fact that human psyche has be studied extensively. Wash em young.

Ignore-ance

They are bot armies attempting to influence you into psychological captivity.

Most people are aware that the CIA, NSA, etc are up to shady stuff. I think it's more the pizza/flatearth/russia-sympathizing that people call out as being a little kooky.

.....and I just looked at your comment history. You're a fucking nut, dude. A conspiracy loving, T_D poisoned, bag o' nuts.

Top comment already makes it look ok that CIA had all that first; but now look others have it too.

By the fourth comment; its already made "acceptable" to spy on us.

We've been talking about Smartphone and Samsung TV's "listening in" on the owner for months.

Actually, there were MSM articles about that as far back as in February 2015, perhaps even further back.

didn't we already know it?

Let the red-pill'ing begin! That's it, dig, dig, dig, my pretties!

seed vault = data vault?

From that post: "Not only that, but the leak also shows that the CIA has been utilizing repurposed malware from foreign intelligence agencies, implementing it in the US, and changing the digital fingerprint to show that it was used from said foreign intelligence agency."

Is there a source so that I can read this myself rather than from a Redditor?

download the torrent and read it for yourself

There's almost 9,000 documents in the leak. Could you at least give us a clue where the bit about foreign malware is?

Then you are back to ground zero:

rather than from a Redditor?

Like comeon take some time out. Its not coded. You have forever to go through it.

I don't know what format the documents are in, but Windows has a built in indexing engine that can scan inside most documents and let you free text search. It's not perfect but it's already at your hands. Google it.

Windows...mate what is this thread about!!

Anyone else feel sickness along with the vindication? Same thing with Snowden. It felt good to be right for about a day. I hope something happens as a response to this. Freedom caucus needs to step up or something.

I am telling everyone.

What response are you getting? Ive got

Idc

We already knew this so who cares

I've got nothing to hide

Who are the CIA and what do they do again?

Who are the CIA and what do they do again?

Below is copied from another thread.

Of course, we already know that the CIA does evil things. For example, the following are undisputed, public knowledge, and listed on Wikipedia:

  1. Operation Paperclip: after World War 2, the government filled the intelligence services with thousands of top Nazis
  2. Operation Sunrise: CIA Director Allen Dulles makes secret negotiations to help his Nazi friends at the end of WW2.
  3. Operation MK-ULTRA: the CIA tortured, brainwashed, and secretly drug-dosed countless innocent victims. Some victims became permanently mute, paralyzed, or incapacitated. Learn about the worst of MK-ULTRA here. The CIA destroyed about 95% of the documents, and we only have the fraction that we do, because of a mistake in destroying the documents.
  4. Operation Midnight Climax: An operation with MK-Ultra involved secretly dosing victims with LSD and filming them with prostitutes in sex blackmail operations.
  5. The Phoenix Program: the CIA tortured and murdered countless innocent Vietnamese civilians and journalists in an attempt to undermine the North Vietnamese resistance.
  6. Operation Mockingbird: the CIA infiltrated the media (starting with CBS) and distorted or biased the reporting in favor of the CIA's agenda. Today, Anderson Cooper is a known "ex" CIA employee. MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski's father, Zbigniew, was the National Security Advisor who hand delivered weapons to Al Queda in the CIA's Operation Cyclone.
  7. Iran-Contra: the CIA violated Congress's Boland Amendment, which banned the CIA from funding the contras, by selling cocaine in the United States and by selling military arms to Iran.
  8. The Dark Alliance investigation by Gary Webb. Webb exposed much more information about the CIA selling cocaine in the Iran-Contra scandal. Webb was found in a "suicide" with two separate gunshots to his head.
  9. Mena Airport: This is the famous airport in Arkansas where Barry Seal flow cocaine for the CIA. This is where Bill and Hillary Clinton got involved with the CIA, and were protected by the CIA. Notice that the CIA is really the only way to explain the giant trail of mysterious deaths and "suicides" in Clintons' wake that never resulted in murder convictions (I encourage you to take the time to read through the entire Clinton bodycount - well over a hundred names).
  10. Air America: The CIA sold heroin out of Laos#Allegations_of_drug_smuggling).
  11. The Church Committee also revealed other aspects of CIA corruption that are not necessarily included in the above list.

In addition to these, I will add that the CIA is connected to other conspiracies:

  1. CIA assassin Ethan Hunt confessed to killing JFK. Oswald also had connections to the CIA. This video provides an overview for the obvious CIA plot to kill JFK. See also the book by Jerome Corsi, the book by Roger Stone, the numerous books by famous JFK researcher Mark Lane, and the famous movie by Oliver Stone).
  2. Although 9/11 seems to be mostly a Mossad job, there must have been CIA and neoconservative complicity. For example, Osama bin Laden was our friend and a CIA/Mossad asset in the CIA Operation Cyclone war in Afganistan. "Al Queda" literally translates to "the database" of CIA mujahideen in Afghanistan. Bin Laden's first reaction to 9/11 was to deny his involvement.
  3. A recent federal court decision confirms that the CIA was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing investigation. Numerous conspiracy theories link the CIA to the bombing.
  4. George Webb has a popular youtube series outlining how the CIA, and its private sector cutout DynCorp, do nation topples, human trafficking, and organ harvesting around the world.

The CIA was basically setup, after World War 2, and filled with Nazis, to perform black operations, under the cover of the law, to benefit U.S. corporate interests. Attempted reforms, like the Church Committee and the Boland Amendment, were effectively ignored. Because the CIA operates under secrecy without meaningful discipline, and because people are too scared about the destabalizing effect of exposing its corruption (after JFK, 9/11, etc.), the CIA's corruption just grows like a cancer.

Hmm funny how I can't get that Clinton body count page to load/stay loaded... It's almost as if someone is messing with it

same thing happened to me. Im sure its "normal"

I co-host a podcast and we just did MKULTRA. Shit. Is. Nuts.

Awesome! Can you link me to that episode? It is nuts...

It comes out Thursday. We did one on JFK that came out today. What's your preferred platform?

something i can listen to on ios pls!

Copy that! Anxious Extroverts on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/anxious-extroverts/id1163673333

Enjoy, let me know what you think. And stay tuned for MKULTRA Thursday morning.

youtube?

Unfortunately not. Mostly on the streaming players. Desktop or mobile?

desktop!

Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-178584240

Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/anxious-extroverts

Both of those should work from desktop. Stitcher seems to be the most updated.

https://player.fm/series/anxious-extroverts if you want to download it.

I usually download stuff directly to my computer through my browser, then transfer it to other devices.

I will see what I can come up with as far as a direct download. Itunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/anxious-extroverts/id1163673333

If I find something I'll update or DM you.

Thanks man!

For sure, is the iTunes link good or do you want something different?

Do I need iTunes or an apple product to download it? Is it free download on iTunes? if not, do you have a link to a quick and easy download without using 3rd party program or signing up for an account on a website?

You need itunes.

Android?

The castbox app, or stitcher, or soundcloud for streaming. I'm working on a direct download link.

I remember reading/hearing about MK Ultra years ago and then Stranger Things re-piqued my curiosity. Stuff is wack.

I'm pretty sure it's still going on, though I obviously have no proof, other than "we didn't know it was happening then, either."

Shout out to the one and only George Webb! The man is a national treasure and a goddamn patriot!

But yea, prior to the war the CIA was known as, "the OSS". I really am not sure, but I'd like to think that they weren't always the evil, perverted agency that they've become today.

You can add: "Gulf of Tonkin" ;)

Lots of good information there, thanks for overcoming the noise ratio! Could likely insert the Gehlen Org between 1 & 2.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gehlen_Organization

Iran, Guatemala, Indonesia, Laos, Controlled Japanese party that had 60% of the vote in the 60s and made them buy nuke plants to fund nuke bombs which led to the dominance of yakuza led mega coporations, operation gladio and terror attacks against civilians, Bay of pigs, countless African nations, put Saddam in power, incompetence caused Iranian Revolution, didn't see end of apartheid coming, didn't see end of USSR coming, lied about USSR threat, created Al Qaeda and radical violent wing of Muslim extremis in Afghanistan, created NED leading to a dozen color revolution coups etc

Death toll figures higher than 10 maybe 20 million people

Hey, I read through the death list. Any idea why an anesthesiologist, a PT and her doctor were killed? I'm generally curious, not trolling or disputing that list.

George Webb's youtube revelations are now discussing servers involved in the fake "Russia hacking" stories and also the thefts of congressional computer drives and data among specific democratic intelligence sub-comittee members.

It is fascinating. This might not go away....look what happened to R.E.Nixon and W.J. Clinton.

Just looking up info on the "Dulles Brothers" will make your jaw drop.

Literally from the law firm that setup the robber barons.

Literally were allies with nazis.

Literally first civilian to direct CIA

Literally longest serving CIA commissioner

Literally was fired as director of CIA after Bay of Pigs (Pig-Gate!) fiasco, JFK is shot, and then is brought back in and put in charge of the investigation and report for the Warren Commission.

how do you know we only know 5% of MK Ultra?

On the "nothing to hide" nonsense, here's a good comment from another thread which addresses that. (I agree that it should be a post all by itself.)

Sad story, but there's lots of people out there that would trade their freedom and privacy for a false sense of security provided by our evil corporate overlords.

You're doing the right thing! Don't lose hope! It's absolutely imperative that we continue to start the conversation with others, even if some shut us down.

The problem here is paranoia of the public to which seems to be the fuel for this sub. Most informed people don't care because they realize two things.

A. FISA and USSID 18 are there to protect US Persons and without a court order they can't surveil you. So unless you really are doing something shady why would you care about the capabilities of our government who are sworn to protect us just like the police, firemen, doctors, nurses, etc who could in fact do harm but for the most part do their jobs.

B. There is not enough manpower or resources to target joe shmoe on the couch in his underwear. It takes people to look through intel and monitor targets. If you really think anyone in the government cares about watching you while you watch Stranger Things on netflix you're wrong. It really is that simple. These hacks have been around since microphones and cameras were installed into computers. If you have any device with either of those components you are at risk from attack by anyone, your neighbor, a foreign entity, etc.

I would personally be more afraid, as a US Person, of who is leaking this information and the implications it has on our ability to stop attacks from happening to fellow citizens. The real questions we should be asking are: Who and why are they leaking classified documents putting the US, our service members, and allies at risk?

TLDR: Quit being paranoid big brother is watching you unless you're doing serious shady shit.

You're wrong, I'm not worried about the CIA watching everything I do, because I get lost in the noise. What I'm more concerned about is the fact the tools have leaked. What Wikileaks are saying is they have access to all of the code behind the software. Is that not worrying? Billions of dollars worth of spying software has leaked out of the C.I.A and we don't know who has access to it.

Yes but we would be quite naive to think that only our government has these tools or possibly even better ones. A lot of the tools were repurposed from others. The leaks need to stop on all accounts. Scary situation for people who rely on intel to survive abroad.

The average person has a lot of shit going on in the small scale of their life, and they don't really see what they as an individual can do in protest. And even if they group up and protest as a massive group (like the Women's March) what would happen? Suppose you and I are dead-set on changing this unfortunate situation. What can we do that would have meaningful impact?

"I don't believe it, it sounds like a conspiracy theory."

I feel like this is a CIA distraction from something way more important than computer hacking. Not sure exactly what, but I feel the CIA has control of Wikileaks too.

I feel the CIA has control of Wikileaks too.

Everyone here is a bot except for you.

bleep bloop crackle

I feel like if the CIA has all of this power how could they not of infiltrated Wikileaks by now? I love Wikileaks, but i dont think they are more advance than the CIA

Vault 7 , so far, could well be just the CIA claiming to be omnipotent.

Or they at least want you to think that.

That's what I was thinking too...All these leaks are designed to condition us to accept this shit because there's not a lot we can do about it

I believe the term is "limited hangout" and I agree

Bingo! I wondered this too. So then lets ask ourselves what other absolutely MASSIVE story is progressing today?

http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/federal-court-hearing-tuesday-march-7-clinton-email-case-judicial-watch-seeking-answers-abedinweiner-laptop-emails/

No way!! It was buried, not completely but if you didn't say anything I would not have known. Thanks for reminding me!! This is obviously a huge indication this is a controlled leak and the CIA is probably in control of Wikileaks and has either used Assange as an agent or murdered him to control these releases.

What are the odds? These Vault 7 leaks dropping the same exact fucking day that Weiner's laptop would be featured in court. Have been looking for any follow up to this story, so far haven't found anything yet.

The more I think about it, they likely made the disclosures on themselves and confirmed whatever that was paying attention was essentially already in the know of.

A classic cut off the nose to save the face type of situation.

Wouldn't it be easier for the CIA to manipulate the Weiner situation instead of trying to draw attention away from it?

Good question. Which has also come up with this new round of chatter from the Michael Hastings situation. Like wouldn't have been easier to kill him in a botched robbery, (ala seth rich) or the old suicide story, or even a heart attack?

I know they play so many advantages and angles it's not even funny, so they constantly have me thinking about things like motive and reverse psychology.

These are some slippery bastards.

Top of that article says the hearing was postponed though?

Holy shit. I had no clue!!!

You're on to something. It's all propaganda. There's a reason we know the things we do: we're supposed to know them.

If you want to jump to the bottom of the rabbit hole, it's all part of a far-larger deception. It's only objective is to keep you distracted and afraid.

This is my line of thinking too. I'm not 100% sold on the contents that we're finding. It is plausible, but it could also be partly fake to drive up fear and obedience. But if the government has the power to really do all of this, and so much more (terraforming, geo-engineering, and a load of other operations (see the great list above), then how is it that the U.S. government couldn't simply shut down the Wikileaks website? Why couldn't they "remove" these couple people that are leaking this to the world?

If they can overthrow government, silently kill hundreds of thousands or millions of people, and much more, how hard is it to a stop to this if it really is that damaging?

I think it's a mix of things, diversion and conditioning. We're getting conditioned to accept our fate that our rulers are putting us in. But I think it's also a great diversion that everyone is talking about to something far more grand. What that is? shrug We may never really know until it's too late.

this is much bigger than the NSA IMO. Not only is the CIA potentially stronger as the leaks show, but the CIA is a bunch of really nasty fucks. I don't think the NSA has been linked to any murders yet

Be careful. We still have not seen for certain weather all of the 0 days are truly in this leak. We need to make sure that this isn't just the CIA releasing all the old zero days that it knows all the other foreign hacking agencies already know about in an effort to try and kneecap intelligence agencies that don't have budgets or top people like Russia, China, and us. We must remain open to the idea that this is the CIA removing competition from the playing field.

Yup!

Russian Hacking, eh is right! Ugh. I wish it weren't right. Right? Bleh

It doesn't show that though, the linked repo would have absolutely nothing to do with false attribution, am I missing something?

So what's the purpose of demonizing Russia these days? That's what I don't get. I agree with people who are saying that Russia has more in common with the US than most of the middle east or China. By constantly demonizing and provoking Russia, the US is just shoving them into China's arms. What's so good about that?

This goes beyond "intelligence gathering" to complete manufacture and manipulation of everyone and anything. This is the single greatest threat to every person on earth.

NSA employees spied on their exes but CIA spooks can manufacture an entire criminal dossier that seems 100% real and not be questioned on the authenticity by anyone in law enforcement or MSM. Their word is somehow as good as gold despite all the lying they have admitted too.

And then there is Clapper who absolutely and intentionally committed perjury and lied to Congress still at his job, un-indicted and used by MSM as a reliable authority.

As much as I knew they were doing all this and part of me is happy with the vindication I am also now absolutely hopeless about our future. A man elected president has no hope against this monster called the CIA. What chance do any of us peasants have to see our country put to rights?

there is a whole coalition of white hats that are here to free our planet from these scumbags, don't lose hope, these revelations are part of the awakening

I think this leak is part of infighting among agencies.

and remember that the primary evidence given for the "russian hack" is that it was written by the Ukranians... That doesn't even make sense!

What the most frustrating part of all this is.. is still most of the general public wont care. I've told several friends and posted your TLDR; on facebook.. The responses i get are mostly - I'm not that interesting they can watch me all they want... Sickening that we've just come to accept that the government is always watching us.

Dude. I feel your pain. They just joke about it. The same asshats that would demand proof in debates in facebook threads. This comes out FINALLY, and I'm like, "here's your proof, dipshit." And they then play it off as no big deal. Fuck this planet.

Just got this response: I have zero issues with governments being able to monitor all electronic devices. If you have something to hide they should probably know about it. If you don't they most likely aren't reading your shit. And if you don't want them to write a letter.

someone responded with this: I don't doubt that there is any limit to what they can tap. I however highly doubt they have the time or capacity to save and monitor everything we do all at once.

Unfuckin Real

Dude, I'm dealing with the same type of dipshits. Does no one care about freedoms and this being The United States of America?? The founding fathers warned us on the possibility of government overreach. Power corrupts.

Famous response I always get: "well if you don't like our government then why don't you run for elected office and be a change"

Yeah, join the corruption and think I alone can change something? No thanks. Why don't people all open their eyes and stop watching MSM and think for yourself and seek the REAL truth. We need the nation as a whole to wake up and take our rights back.

Same story hear. No one cares. I will continue to speak my voice about the importance of our liberties.

Same here. It's a clear violation of the 4th Ammendment WHY DON'T PEOPLE CARE! Also we now know that some of this software/malware is out in the public so thanks to the careless handling, individual hackers may be able to access your stuff. At least care about that...even normies take dick pics

They don't have time for that, they collect meta data, screen caps, live feeds, sms messages on everyone and it's stored in a large database to be retrieved in the event of an investigation into someone.

Just because someone may not be important enough to warrant an investigation, it's still grossly wrong of them to collect the data.

I however highly doubt they have the time or capacity to save and monitor everything we do all at once.

People who don't understand that computers can be made to do almost 100% of the work, and that you can store a hell of a lot of data with deduplicating filesystems frustrate me. And you can explain it to them but they just stare blankly past you because they simply cannot comprehend.

Do they not understand the entire point of big data technology is to collect EVERYTHING? The biggest problem the NSA said they ran into with big data gathering methods, was trying to store and inventory all this information.

I've come to the conclusion that most people on FB do not care about anything other than their own self centered world. Best this I ever did was get off of FB.

I wan't to get off of it, the problem is, i manage a small business doing phone repair, and need access to it to respond to facebook messages that come in all the time. Might just make an account strictly for it.

I understand if you run business through there, but for personal use, get out. I miss being able to keep close connection with friends & family all over the world, but it's not worth the trouble anymore. The election cycle ended it for me. Too much fighting, lies, BS for me.

We did fine without it before right? I always go to the thought that, what if all that shit just disappeared? Would people just lose it or what?

I think a lot of people would be lost for a bit. Lost without that constant stream of interactions, attention and validation. I wish it would get shut down. People need to be present in this thing called life, not living through a mock simulation of life.

The irony of me saying this on Reddit is not lost on me. ;-)

Me neither friend. Gotta toe the line with this tech and use it responsibly.

That's a great question and I would be delighted to have an answer to it !

I have the same problem but I have accounts like spotify and monster linked to my facebook. If I turn Facebook off then I can't log into Spotify or Monster and if I do log into them it reactivates my facebook. I just don't ever visit facebook anymore. The whole thing turned into attention whores and advertising anyway. If I wanted to watch that I'd watch reality TV.

It's making a generation of the most narcissistic people. Caring only about themselves and not the world around them

Or fake outrage because they want to follow suit to what everyone else is angry about. I have notice it creates a lot of anger and drama. It is being used as a weapon to create narratives and I am just not ok with that.

Yep. Keeping you angry, insecure, and afraid of your fellow man is a huge part of the psyops being conducted right now.

Which is exactly why I dumped it. I could see it happening right before my very eyes. No thank you! If I'm going to be angry, I'll get myself there, I don't need a driver.

People are serious worthless on there. Former employee and I enjoyed my time there, but damn, about at the end of my rope with pictures of people's meals and children.

Or my favorite, the fake "my life is perfect" posts. For the love... we all know you are an unemployed drug addict and your husband cheats on you!!!

That is embarrassing when you have inside information on people and they still peddle that trash to their "friends".

It is! So many times I have wanted to call people out, but that would just be mean spirited. But man, oh so funny!

Its never a good idea to get in the middle of other people's dirt. If they choose to do that and live incorrectly, so be it... Pity them.

Fuggit

Amen to that.

None of this should be a surprise.

the best luck i've had was with the peeping tom analogy, vecause that is essentially what they are creepy peeping toms.

would you care if your neighnor was listening to what you say in front of your tv? reading your email? watching you through the camera in your phone? stalking you by tracking you by gps via your phone and your car?

everyone cares about the peeping toms, but some say the CIA et al aren't their neighbors, so i ask how do you know? they're sombodies neighbors, why not yours?

What other kind of response would you expect from an NPC?

Test post. Please ignore.

Buy a smartphone! Buy a tablet! Buy a smart TV! Buy a gaming console with a built-in mic! Buy a smart car! Buy an Alexa for every room in your house! Buy wireless everything!

Now it's becoming clear why there's such a huge push for all these 'smart' devices.. hell, the government probably funds some of them just to effectively wiretap the whole country.

People buy smart electronics because they are incredibly convenient. Not really more complicated than that

Is there really a push for Alexa and Google home? I'd be more worried about the smart thermostats and home systems. Wireless security stored in the cloud anyone? Cia hosts their stuff in amazons cloud and amazon does run servers for lots of other services. When they're down seems like a huge portion of the Internet is down.

In our household, we have zero wireless devices (besides two cell phones that we place in a box when we come home). All of our computers are wired to all their connections (internet, keyboard/mouse, router, modem etc), no mics/webcams etc are plugged in indefinitely and our 'smart' TV is not connected to the internet. When I do my radio show, I'll plug my mic in for that hour, then unplug it. My WiiU is always powered off and the camera has tape over it. What a strange time we live in.

soon the normies will awaken

Maybe we will be able to see if we are lists now instead of just assuming?

I was confused why Robert Davide Steele was so critical of the NSA instead of the CIA. I mean, the NSA needs to go, but I always thought the CIA was more evil and more of a threat to our Freedom.

What's the 1%

I'm pleased to see this has been spread far and wide and regardless of what people may think about wikileaks. My question is this...

If they have been compromised like many have made the case for, who would have done this? I'll say I don't know wtf is going on their side, but I think we can safely presume that the CIA was not the ones that potentially rendered/or got to JA. With all these disclosures specifically about them, probably wouldn't be the ones behind this new revelations.

Does the device require internet or can black kids in Africa be hacked too?

should we go back to the Georgia Guidestones again? Surveillance is interesting but I think the clues about the seed vault tell us more. What's endgame here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Guidestones

Lol...the one idiot that called the FBI b/c the graffiti referred to the goddess Isis. No one knows anything about anything anymore.

the seed vault clue... they aren't hiding seeds, they are hiding DATA.

Is there actually anything really new that has been found so far?

Not to be "that guy" here, but so far I have not seen anything truly new in what has been found, you know something that they are doing that people have not suspected or dreamed of or predicatively programmed for already?

Is there actually anything really new that has been found so far?

Not to be "that guy" here, but so far I have not seen anything truly new in what has been found, you know something that they are doing that people have not suspected or believed they were already doing. I am thinking more along the lines of shit people have just never dreamed they could be doing, or have been predicatively programmed for already?

There's nothing new to conspiracy heads, BUT it's confirmation of our suspicions. That, and hopefully this gets picked up and disseminated through social media.

did they say how often they are going to release the following parts?

Not that I've seen released, but I'd say expect a release every Tuesday

will do. Don't think I'll be able to think about anything else until the next one's out

Same here

Where did it say that there were 7 parts?

Ah sorry editing that out.

There's nothing new to conspiracy heads, BUT it's confirmation of our suspicions.

Well said.

I'd include cyber-security researchers in there, too. People in that industry have know/suspected for a looooooong time that the CIA (and others) had these type of tools.

Correct. As someone in tech, it basically means our reliance on linux servers for "security" is no longer valid. Add on top of that their ability to break air walls while remaining undetected, and it basically means all financial systems are horribly at risk.

Worst case scenario, if they're threatened, they can crash the global markets.

The importance of this release is that it contains detailed documentation of not what they do, but how they do it... this will allow people to quickly and easily develop tools to nullify a decade or so of CIA computer exploits over the course of a weekend.

Wiki leaks is likely Cia disinfo, strange things, including weak 'bombs' like this one keep occurring. If you don't already know there was a raid on assanges embassey Oct 2016 and no one has seen him since..

I think there are a few big pieces to the leaks but one is the CIA shouldn't be doing this. The NSA either but the NSA is at least explainable. The CIA THOUGH NO WAY.

Man I was hoping for some juicy emails. Maybe in part 2.

Wtf is wrong with your type? You rather Partisan emails over information that proves social change or change is impossible without approval of am organization that wasn't elected?

What makes the emails have to be partisan. He just wants corruption exposed and corruption doesn't pick a side.

Partisan hacks use the leaks as ammo to attack one side. Those in the know understand Left vs Right is a paradigm.

There is an overwhelming consensus currently that WL is biased and is a Russian front. Obviously that is made up shit. If the leaks damage both sides it kinda makes that point null and void

It was already known to the general public that the CIA does this shit

Not true and also not in the scope of work to be performed to CIA.

People knew the NSA did this but rationalized it as keeping Americans safe.

The CIA has no business operating on and against americans. That literally isn't their job.

Lol ALL the CIA does it bad. When has the CIA done good for americans

not everything is bad. many things they have done are good. keep in mind they didnt do good for the sake of doing good. they did good because it made sense finacially

PLEASE don't get lost in the sauce people! Not trying to come in here guns blazing sounding like a paranoid conspiracy head but let's not forget all of this info is already known? I think it's very dangerous for people to dive right into "wikileaks" is our savior when their has been VERY questionable actions by them these past 6-7 months.

How about we let people read the shit and decide for themselves what to think of it.

What a novel concept freedom of thought is.

So the solution is to purchase non brand items?

A lot of the exploits are on the hardware ROM layer also. A lot of times the different brands of devices are still using chips made from the same company.

IIRC, all Intel Core CPU's have a built in backdoor.

The solution, as Stallman warned years ago, is to use and promote open-source software and hardware.

I'm a laymen but what good is open source software if the door is built into the hardware. .

Make our own hardware? I mean do we know if arduinos and raspberry pis have backdoors?

Open Everything seems to be a necessary endgame. Open Sofware, Open Hardware, Open Democracy, etc. etc.

Haven't looked too much into it myself yet, though, but the idea seems reasonable to my mind.

this is not a solution that a purchase can solve.

DAE think it might really piss off Russia that the US has been hacking everybody and knowingly blaming it on them?

Just a little bit... Obama has essentially given Russia a get out of jail free card because they can now blame the CIA for anything regardless of whether or not they've done it.

Maybe just maybe, there isn't anything to blame Russia for.... cold wars over man....

Oh i dont blame them for anything. I can see through the shit, im just saying that they could pull the same shit that our MSM has been pulling now

Russia would have already known about this shit. There's leaks and then there is full on spies.

Can someone try searching for wikileaks in the search bar?

It was giving me an overload for searching wikileaks only and was going through with any other search.

It finally went through but only showed older wikileaks related posts from a day ago, nothing from today

The most over looked thing about this all is that the CIA is by "law" barred from performing operations on US land. I might be wrong here but this is definite proof of them running operations on US citizens while in the USA.

The CIA is not permitted legally to collect intelligence concerning the domestic activities of US citizens. Yes, like MI6, it collects intelligence on foreign intelligence agencies and on foreign counterintelligence.

This does not mean they can't operate at their building in Langley. It means they cannot conduct Ops on the domestic front. Which they are no doubt guilty of. Probably on a daily basis.

and I believe they can do it legally with the cooperation of domestic agencies

Cant they do anything they want under the Patriot Act? All they have to do is imply suspect of terrorism for whatever the fuck reason they want. "John bought fertilizer in 1994 we suspect terrorist activity"

I am not sure what the US Version of it is, but when I worked in SIGINT in the UK we called it the Ripper Act the easy loop hole is tasking the NSA to Target UK Citizens and vice versa with the GCHQ. That's assuming the legislation would even hold up, because half of the game with Intelligence and security clearances/compartmentalization. This means withholding information as to 'how' (also where, when and why) intelligence was gathered. That's where sanitization becomes such an important factor

It means they cannot conduct Ops ON U.S. citizens domestically.

so they do it from Europe ... problem solved

It's the ultimate spying loophole. The brits spy on our people with impunity . While In exchange the Brits get access to our little magic tool box of malware in order to use both our peoples to further spy on. It's a round robin circle jerk.

Can you identify a single individual targeted from the leaks?

Unfortunately they redacted identities to protect them, I'm going to speak early and say there probably isn't enough proof for someone at my level to recognize and identify someone from the leaks. And at my skill level I am not confident in being able to fulfill your request also I have not scanned the entire leak either.

But I imagine someone well versed in code and the professional internet security and government security work circles. Could view these programs and probably have a better chance or even be able to identify folks from this first part of vault 7 and the contents within.

But I imagine someone well versed in code and the professional internet security and government security work circles. Could view these programs and probably have a better chance or even be able to identify folks

Not really. There isn't a skill set or tool that lets you unredact information, and data analysis would never be sufficient to make an allegation in a US court. There is literally not a shred of legally actionable material here.

Unfortunately I agree completely with you here. Hopefully more concrete info comes forward in later releases.

They just ask their pals at GCHQ to do it for them.

You haven't looked at the data? There's no evidence they used any of these on US citizens.

You are correct I may have spoken hastily in throwing out a direct allegation that It has been used specifically on US citizens. However wouldn't the ability to perform operations in the USA be violation enough of laws put in place restricting them from doing that very thing? Either way you are correct. I hope further publications start pointing out the answers to who and when, we have already gotten that what, where, and why.

So....anyone got the codes that confirm these leaks?

Here is a repost of a comment I made in another thread... might be the reasoning behind the "Year Zero" tagline...

They were talking about how a piece of code written 14 years ago ended up getting the NSA busted by Kaspersky and how they need to be thinking about 2029 to avoid these kinds of difficulties... so I think a huge chunk of their previous work being exposed to the general public and PSP companies could end up being a huge fucking setback for them... like scrap everytthing and begin again from scratch... oooooh... now I get the Year Zero reference... it makes sense now...

"The idea behind Year Zero is that all culture and traditions within a society must be completely destroyed or discarded and a new revolutionary culture must replace it, starting from scratch."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Zero_(political_notion)

Cool story bro

Found one!

2029?

Seeing that they chose the quote by JFK claiming that he wanted to "splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds." for a passphrase, your interpretations seems to miss the mark, albeit slightly.

The intent by Wikileaks was never to reset the CIA's capabilities, that would be cutting it short. They, as they say, need to be splintered into a thousand pieces and never allowed to recover. But you're right, that there needs to be, and likely will be a resetting of how we approach technology as a whole.

The main takeaway from yesterday's leaks is that every provider of technology deliberately or incompetently neglects to take serious measures to ensure the privacy and security of their customers. Thanks to the CIA's now widely dispursed hacking arsenal, every technological device has become vulnerable to attacks from pretty much anyone.

This is the meaning of Year Zero, to my mind. All technology is based on haphazardly thrown together code that barely does what it is supposed to more often than not, and is riddled with exploitable loopholes. This is a problem we will need to find a solution to, quickly. Open Everything, perhaps, I really don't know, but that's the discussion I think we'll need to have.

Still curious to what Michael Hasting was going to report on. There must be some of his notes out there or a few guesses?

As of October 2014 the CIA was also looking at infecting the vehicle control systems used by modern cars and trucks. The purpose of such control is not specified, but it would permit the CIA to engage in nearly undetectable assassinations.

I wonder if Snowden is a CIA agent that was sent to fuck up the NSA so that CIA take over the cyber surveillance.

Did you know Snowden did work for CIA before he worked for NSA? I can provide you with a killer expose on the dude if you'd like.

Lol nice 2020 they should not see us together people might think we are part of a secret society....

Go on then.

So an opinion video then...

What do you think an expose is? It starts with a bio. But I bet you didn't listen to any, did you?

I listened to about 3 minutes.

just watch the movie ...

I can provide you with a killer expose on the dude if you'd like.

yes please, I'd like ;D

thanks

My issue with all this is nothing will be done about it. When Snowden revealed what the NSA did Obama was like "oh well, nothing I can do about it....." and let it happen.

I suspect Trump will be the same way. They will do nothing and continue to allow it happen. If this is the case, then the deep state is alive and well. The sweeping the 7th floor clean was just for show.

I think it's more like... hey look the CIA broke the internet and all our technology. Now what?

Now what?

Conditioning. People will get mad. Companies will get mad. But at the end of the day the CIA probably won't be dismantled. It will just be accepted that all our technology is bugged and there is nothing we can do about it.

Except that a key point is that it's all been leaked to the community in full. It's not just wikileaks.org and the CIA that have the only copies. These weapons will be used against us, not just by the CIA but by private groups etc.

These weapons will be used against us, not just by the CIA but by private groups etc.

Private groups like corporations or foreign entities?

Land of the free? Just another lie.

Whoever told you that is your enemy!

Freedom , Yeah right

Your anger is a gift

That's why it's funny when people try to make a secure OS or secure blah blah blah. If the government has the malware built into the hardware or underlying firmware it doesn't matter anymore, nothing can be secured.

The Russians go to great expense to make their own computer chips from scratch for precisely this reason. They are a generarion or two behind Intel but they control the chip code. Elbrus and Baikal are their two domestic chip companies.

That would make sense for them, they know what's up.

root kits for days...

Open source firmware?

uh no. They go to said company, threaten them or give them money followed by installing whatever malware. Obviously not all will comply but they basically risk all sorts of harassment I'd imagine.

Yeah, I get that. Not disagreeing with you there. I'm saying community projects like Core Boot might be ok

I'm not one to speculate what open source whatever is using. Doesn't really matter what it is, but it's there.

I don't think it's hopeless though. There's a lot of work going into 100% open source hardware that is reproducible

You're not going to find any open source CPUs actually worth using any time soon.

You're not going to find any open source CPUs actually worth using any time soon.

Not for gamming, but I'd expect it to run Linux

is that like seabios?

OpenBSD is the solution it seems to me.

Sure if you get it from a reputable mirror. Who says an iso you download isn't already compromised.

That's what checksums are for.

Yes, but not everyone is checking that :)

Go back to stone age and make wooden pc :) There was a guy that buildes his own home out of branches, wood, clay. That is the best bet you can have. The biggest problem is conmectivity, and relationships between devices. When your device has a relationship or connection with a governmental hacked device, then sure enough your wooden pc won't protect you

So, do we get to see Trumps tax returns now?

I want tax returns also but this is 1000x bigger than fucking tax returns.

The most concerning thing for me so far is Vault 7 is no where to be found on r/all

It isnt yet but NYT and a few other mainstream outlets are talking about it.

6 post on all genius

Only took 5 hours.

It's like the third post on /r/all, what are you talking about?

It's literally like 6th post down.

Obviously I made the comment at a time when it was at the top of this sub, technology and a few other but not on r/all.

Now it's there you are correct. Their narrative controlling bots were no match for actual thinking humans

So do you guys think this is going to cause a rift between Apple and the US Government? I also think these leaks are important because it will allow Apple to patch these exploits. Unless they work for the CIA. In that case we are all fucked.

I think backroom negotiations have been going on since San Bernadino

If the exploit is at the hw level, Apple can't do anything about it if they wanted to.

Matryoshkaware...malware inside of malware.

If I were Julian I wouldn't eat any more veggie burgers that Pam is bringing him anymore.

He can't cause the first one already done kilt'im

Hmmm...nothing about 9/11. :(

Yet.

I REALLY wish something would come out one way or the other.

https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_13763790.html

"Do we have a flagship product? Do we need to define "embedded systems" for management and customers?"

..

"When do we seek customer buy-in?"

Who exactly is the CIA selling this stuff to?

Elites, cartels, etc.

Who benefits from encrypted information? The CIA has enough funding. This is either fundraising for blacksite activities or someone is lining their pockets

Customers are probably end users, i.e., agents specifically working on an op; this is likely an internal development group developing and testing stuff for the tools used by "customers" in the field.

Most disturbing thing about that page to me is - no work on VxWorks? WTF. Can we have our tax dollars back? ;)

Who exactly is the CIA selling this stuff to?

If I had to guess - defense contractors and intelligence agencies.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intelligence_agencies

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_defense_contractors

Quite a big list of customers there.

You should create a thread for that one, it's really important if they are selling this to random people.

They may be talking about ways to get consumers to pay for their own spying and data processing components, like say for instance your phone.

Essentially they are selling you the tools to negate your own freedom. There has been some speculation about a number of popular apps. For instance, according to these reports many apps that are marketed as a secure messaging service are in fact already compromised before distribution.

I made write ups of several keys CIA spying programs I have found in the Vault 7 release. You can read them here! http://imgur.com/a/RzFLx

Just wanted to thank you for this.

Of course!

Ditto kudos, yo.

Fox News is talking about the release right now... if ya wanna plug your TV back in and watch it watching you.

TV, Phone, Computer spying... self driving car control... this dude is saying it all.... some guy... Benjamin Hall... british accent.

My reaction to this: Big fucking deal, but what do you want me to do about it? Nothing shocks me anymore. They own us.

Big fucking deal

they own us

Enjoy your slavery, you have nobody to blame but your own apathy.

How do I voice my opinion that this is not okay without being "suicided"?

I strongly doubt any of us possess enough power individually to be "suicided".

If you decide to become an investigative journalist and start writing about things too close to the truth, you may wanna avoid driving a car that was built as early as the 90s.

Gotta risk it to get the biscuit dawg

Lol youre not gonna be suicided

Make sure your friends know by speaking with them face to face.

because everything is a spy thriller

Put Cameras in the Supreme Court and in both Houses of Congress. Live stream them 24/7.

aaaaaaaaand c-span.org

Who are these files officially for? The amount of rules broken would piss off most politicians too.

So, total computer noob. I've never downloaded a torrent before. I downloaded this. What do I use to open this?

This can give you the general idea...

https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/

Good on you for going to the source first hand.

Keep digging.

mobile link

It's findable too. Just look for viceland/zero-day

Wonder why Wiki tipped off the CIA about Vault 7 dropping months earlier? To see how they react possibly?

Wonder why Wiki tipped off the CIA about Vault 7 dropping months earlier? To see how they react possibly?

One rumor is that they were giving someone the opportunity to disclose this before they did.

I'll be curious to see how Trump reacts to this

How are you even supposed to use the leaked passphrase?

Do you just go to one of their Dark Brotherhood Dugouts, and say "Splinter it into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the wind", and the door will welcome you home?

list of remote exploits for webkit browsers and phonesphones. Includes Tool names, where or agency/group tool was acquired https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_21561399.html

All Chrome. What a surprise.

Webkit also means Safari

Oh there it is. Missed it. No Opera version? Maybe.

This wording in the press release seems suspicious:

"Isn't WikiLeaks worried that the CIA will act against its staff to stop the series?

No. That would be certainly counter-productive."

What does that mean? Taken at face value, it sounds like the CIA's 'progress' is helped by the leaks. Perhaps it's their way of showing off: "We can listen to you, hear you, and record you, from every device, all the time. We can intercept it before encryption, and so can Russia, which further justifies the whole Russia hacking bullshit we've been pushing in the MSM."

I really want to believe Assange is alive and uncompromised, but this really hasn't lived up to the hype surrounding it. I'll wait until the rest of the leaks before I grieve the loss of Wikileaks as one of the last remaining vectors of truth in a society utterly inundated by lies.

I think it means that if something bad happened Wikileaks would dump the insurance files.

Guys is the password released yet ? what is it ????

I dumped all the non-PNG image files from the Vault 7 .7z archive into an imgur album if anyone is interested. Mostly a mishmash of memes a screenshots of haxxorz.

I can't stress how fucking crazy this is to people. I feel so god damn vindicated today. Good work, all of you, that are combing through and giving breakdowns. The world salutes you ♡

All this info is gonna make people even more paranoid.
Q: do they need a warrant or something like that to hack people's stuff?
Or can they do it whenever?

So they can spy on you....wow. Such a shocker. Wikileaks trolled you again. lol

nearly all of your posts are like "this sub is shit" ...

why the fuck you waste our time? get a life

Because I know more than you. A lot more.

And you're all being trolled, taking the bait as usual. lol

'lol'

if you know so much, what are you doing here with the rest of us?

Entertainment value.

He's a fucking shill.

Just a short 3 days after Trump's Twitter tirade of being wiretapped

Wikileaks releases a major info dump about CIA wiretaps.

Coincidence, comrade

These leak days are always fascinating to me as I watch a bunch of people become suddenly turned on to things that I've considered to be a given for years.

As important as this information is, I feel like WL kind of cries wolf here. They were hyping this so hard, and exposed something that was already somewhat common knowledge...

This is only one part of the series. There is plenty in here that has very broad implications.

Great to see this at the top.

It gives me hope that even though the "Wikileaks is compromised and Assange is dead narrative" was forcefully pushed here in order to discredit Wikileaks, that many users here still saw through that blatant manipulation and waited for this kind of bombshell.

Assange even addressed this himself in his, saying that the nonsense rumors were used to try to discredit him and Wikileaks through black PR operations. He knew he had Vault 7 up his sleeve and wasn't going to let people try and discredit the information in advance, unfortunately many still fell for it.

yeah... unless of course this whole thing that totally reads like an ad for what the cia could do to its enemies is in fact written by the cia to make those enemies shit bricks

I mean, if you had actually taken over WL and wanted to keep that fact under wraps yet still use this to your advantage, this is exactly the type of thing you would post, is it not?

We... errm... THEY... can remote control your car if you ever try to start any shit, they have the whole world under their thumb etc etc

Whats the most up to date review, and outline of this leak?

well it was just released today so all reports are 'up-to-date'

They have a sticky on /r/the_donald with a lot of the info.

Wikileaks trolled you again...no surprises there.

They are part of the show. This will be revealed eventually.

"They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor."

Just thought I'd add another 'Pac lyric I liked, know some of us were discussing his role in black America and how the CIA could have played a role in his death.

Please listen to 'Changes' and tell me seriously they didn't have a word or two to say to him about it

some serious COINTELPRO shit going on in the New York Times:

If anyone still has doubts that Wikileaks and the Russians are working together to undermine and destabilize our government institutions, erode public confidence in our government, and generally wreak havoc in our country, this latest document dump should erase all doubt. We are under attack by an adversarial nation, with a President here at the helm who seems not to take any of this seriously.

wow.

That is fucking disgusting.

A publishing site with a better record is being completely undermined by a ONCE trusted news source that now is blatantly a propaganda riddled shit stain on modern journalism.

I hope that when we finally take the country back from the Rich and Powerful this will be an example of the last efforts of a dying establishment to maintain control over its populus.

it really is pathetic. They also had hillary at a 93% chance of winning. Welp.

it really is pathetic. They also had hillary at a 93% chance of winning. Welp.

Maybe going so obviously all-in is the only move they have left. We know they're owned, they know they're owned, they know we know they're owned, and they'll never come out and say it. Tripling down to the point where even uninformed observers recognize something is wrong may be the only way they can communicate that something is wrong.

I hope that when we finally take the country back from the Rich and Powerful

and how do 'we' do that?

I think you mean the Reich and Powerful

if it takes the Russians for this shit to come out then they should be considered heroes.

That's my thoughts too.

Come on you think the time and info of this leak is an accident? Trump talks about being illegally wiretapped and a less then a week later Wikileaks drops the CIA's networked spying programs. This has been happening all through the campaign. You guys look in the wrong direction for the conspiracy.

I gotta say, I'm starting to believe there is at least some collusion. I kind of think that Assange wants to take down the CIA and is helping Trump, not necessarily that Assange is compromised.

he is the best chance we have to do something about this.

No. His term (or terms) is the best chance we have. Don't expect him to get anything done. He provides opportunity for others to act.

That's fair.

I wouldn't be surprised. It does seem a bit too perfectly timed. I watched the senator on the intelligence committee give his press conference yesterday and there was one particularly odd moment in it. He was asked clearly if they would investigate the DNC vs FBI claims that the FBI was not given prompt access to the the hacked server. He answered the question as if a different question was asked and answered it very dismissively. It's possible that he didn't hear the question but my take is that it was a question he very much did not want to answer. It was very weird because the question was not clumsily worded or anything.

I agree this was my biggest WTF moment. These idiots want to go to war with Russia. They probably want to invade in the middle of November too they are that fucking stupid.

but winter is the BEST time to invade russia, right!

but winter is the BEST time to invade russia, right!

With all that "global warming," maybe it is?

Invading Russia basically has three phases; winter, mud, and summer. Actually, it goes winter, mud, summer, mud, but whatever.

Basically, you get a short window in the summer to get stuff done; otherwise, you're bogged down in mud, or buried by snow. If you can manage to sustain combat operations during winter, you could actually conquer Russia.

reminds me of cat's cradle

I mean, I feel like regardless, Putin is a problem that will have to be dealt with eventually.

Not taking away from the context of the leaks.

I think a conversation should be had about wikileaks bias in their releases and who gains from that. Not this thread or now but definitely on this sub.

Absolutely agree with you. This leak looks bad for the CIA, but the enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend. This conversation does need to happen.

Right, love how they made it a partisan issue about having either a corrupt or incompetent POTUS.

Seriously fuck you, NYT!

Exactly!

I felt pretty gross after skimming through the comments section on that story. They're generally pretty bad on any given day (particularly the NYT), but that was actually painful.

Yeah that's fucking annoying for sure.

No nooooo

AUTISTS ALERT: Check in to this company: Affinity Computer Technology. CIA developers use this company as in one of their software licenses. https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_11629096.html

Don't want to pay for Windows? Just follow this CIA guide to steal it! https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_3375301.html

Wikileaks just tweeted this- after I tweeted it to them.

we should send this to Microsoft en masse and see if they sue for pirated software

IIRC, that doesn't actually activate Windows, but just enables the product key entry to be skipped during the installation process. The install will stop working after some time (180 days, delayable twice?) unless a key is entered, which is the same behaviour as a normal retail disc (rather than the MSDN ISO).

Wow those are some awesomely easy to read instructions, technical documentation FTW!

That's hilarious

Free Windows

Cool!

Windows 8

Oh, nevermind.

"I don't care I'm not doing anything wrong"

Nothing irritates me more than that sentence. People don't realize the long term implications this type of power can have.

I don't care about clean air. I'm exhaling.

I don't care about the future. I'm here now!

I don't care about having a girlfriend. I'm single!

Not only that but half of the Bill of Rights discusses privacy (First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth amendments) and also the 14th amendment. They are just admitting that they don't care about government tyranny.

the founding fathers knew this - removing privacy removes the right to assemble and organize against a corrupt government. besides. who defines what "not doing anything wrong" is? you or the government?

Sure they knew this, but the didn't care enough to put it in the Constitution. It was added as an afterthought to make the creation of a centralized government palatable for the states where people were recovering from fighting against a centralized government.

Lies, they ALL argued about it for years.

Right & wrong changes context every 20 years. (if even that)
But these laws last over 150years and take blood to change.

That is the most ridiculous drivel. The biggest threat to a corrupt government is the innocent man. Do they not know this?

We all know by now that the elites use pedophilia, and other horrible crimes, as blackmail material in order to knit their web of loyalists together. The innocent man is the one that they fear, because he's the one that they can't control.

Now, with all the surveillance going on, plus the ability to fabricate audio and video with the voice prints and visual image of the target, anyone who doesn't go along with the program can be framed for a crime that they did not commit - with visual and audio evidence to convict him with!

Now, that might not mean that the NPCs (Non Player Characters) that you're talking to need worry about being framed. But if government corruption is ever going to be cleared out, and the government taken to heel in order to start serving the American people again, then all of this nonsense has to be made public.

Otherwise, it's the end of the American experiment, and probably many of your lives.

There are no innocent men. It's only a matter of degrees. This only bolsters what you are saying but I feel it needs to be said.

Fastest way to find out if someone is a fucking idiot, is if they say that.

The only problem is that only you will know that. The chances are that you are the only one awake in between 10 people in a conversation at any given time.

"oh they are still okay. Let's just move the goalposts again"

Remember that scene in The Dark Knight where Bruce turns every cell phone in Gotham into a network?

Welcome to reality.

That is the epitomy of the herd mentality . There is literally nothing you can do. NOTHING. I have tried and people just don't fucking care. Maybe we are the break-away civilization.

People don't realize the long term implications this type of power can have.

The example I always use is, "It wasn't the Holocaust, then years of oppression. It was years of oppression, then the Holocaust."

"I don't care I'm not doing anything wrong"

Oh don't worry - we will change the rules and you will retroactively have done something wrong. Either that or we will plant something on your computer to be sure you are doing something wrong.

-the CIA

Just the knowledge of how the KGB used to operate and that was off of someone just following you. These folks are basically sitting in your living room or car with you while talk about your personal lives.

Oh, yes you are. Every day. Because you didn't care, and when you weren't paying attention, laws were passed making nearly everything illegal. Get out of line, they'll charge you with something you've done. Something you've actually done, that hurt no one, that seemed moral to you, but is against the law.

Someone said it's like saying, "I don't care about the 1st amendment because I don't have anything to say."

Have any of the hardcore Vault 7 researchers began to make briefs of the Vault 7 findings with citations to the specific documents??

It seems like this (especially citations) would be essential for the efficient and effective dissemination of the info in this monster of a leak.

I have seen a few lists of findings that were discovered yesterday but none of them included citations to the specific documents.

Julian assange made a good retort to this . It's very narrow sighted to look at the implications that having your own privacy violated means. Yes you may not be doing anything wrong , but that's beside the point , it has a disastrous effect on society has a whole.

What I reply is: ppl who put these rights in place came from an oppressive system, so they knew these rights were essential for meaningful freedom. And the technology back then was primitive, at best.

You also don't know how information can be manipulated, misused, or used against you. The fact the information is being gathered like it is gives the impression they have def ideas how they are going to use it. It takes a great deal of energy and cost to collect and store ALL this minutiae of data.

Nothing good can come of it.

If you give an inch, the government will take a mile. Why give up the privacy voluntarily?

Also disagree as I think you should always be weary of the people in power as power always corrupts. However, I did have trouble explaining my girlfriend who said exactly this. Any solid 2/3 arguments to explain her why it's wrong?

I don't care about free speech, I have nothing to say.

So.. what are the implications of this?

Were these tools intentionally leaked in the wild to create chaos?

Will manufacturers patch the specified exploits? How can we trust them?

Will the public revert to older technologies -- hydraulic steering/throttle, non-connected appliances, etc.?

Is the bitcoin blockchain compromised? Will criminals steal my doge??

So much question. Wow.

Regular Joe here,

What can I do to protect myself? I understand why this is a horrible but foreseen info about the CIA.

Although, I do believe that a lot of people will ignore this problem or even deny it. People will prefer comfort and security over anything, even stuff like this.

You can't. It's already spread everywhere, and into everything.

If you own 100 devices with mics, and get rid of 99, you still have one that is recording you. Same thing with cameras, GPS, WiFi, cellular signals, etc.

The only thing to do now is to actively push to dismantle these organizations or clean house, and even then you'd be limiting the scope, not eradicating it.

Truly, the only thing that would stop all these is thousands of EMP devices being detonated in the air all across the globe, sending us back to the Stone Age.

We need our local congressmen to be bullrushed with demands for retribution. To the point where they can't get anything done without another community leader contacting them about the subject. It's a start....we can't rally bc we'll be pepper sprayed and beat up with no help from police or no coverage from MSM.

Go completely old school. Buy old school mobile phone, old school car, ditch wifi, ditch tv, ditch internet. Buy encyclopedias, send d**k pics via Polaroid. Buy older light bulbs or ditch em and use lanterns. You do all that, and then the nano surveillance bugs get deployed, so you will need some type of signal jammer. Move to small town. Don't commit any crimes.

Polaroid dick pics, quote of the day.

Eh, Nothing will happen. The WikiLeaks could have video of Hillary Burning babies and eating them and no one would care if FOX CNN said it's not true or it's unimportant or did not report on it at all.

The Movement is Growing and it's awesome but most people are fucking retarded.

That's the immediate thing to help imho.

Just pointing this out until I get stopped, but here we have a very good reason to demand evidence that Russia "hacked the election" or hacked Clinton's server etc.

UMBRAGE

The CIA's hand crafted hacking techniques pose a problem for the agency. Each technique it has created forms a "fingerprint" that can be used by forensic investigators to attribute multiple different attacks to the same entity.

This is analogous to finding the same distinctive knife wound on multiple separate murder victims. The unique wounding style creates suspicion that a single murderer is responsible. As soon one murder in the set is solved then the other murders also find likely attribution.

The CIA's Remote Devices Branch's UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a substantial library of attack techniques 'stolen' from malware produced in other states including the Russian Federation.

With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the "fingerprints" of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from.

Supposedly Russian methods like FancyBear can have their "fingerprints" used by the CIA, making it look like Russians (or anyone else) committed a hack that was actually carried out by the CIA.

Not being a dick but there is nothing supposed about this. This capability is quite easy. Once you analyze the malware you can find the markers. They can reuse this malware or adapt it. IDS rules are written based on these "fingerprints".

Could you explain in greater detail how it works? If you say it's easy, you can do it yourself, right? I believe that you're not being a dick, but you might be passing yourself off as an expert.

I wouldn't say expert but pretty well versed. While in the Army I worked at the NSA doing SIGINT analyst, I sat in on hacking operations, and took courses provided by the NSA. I know a lot about our capabilities.

Since leaving the Army I have worked as a Intrusion Detection/Network Defense Analyst. When writing rules for Intrusion Detection Analysis tools like Snort, you can use markers that identify the exploits. There are also servers that exploits (usually a part of exploit kits) phone back to that are known to host certain types of exploits and are usually associated with specific countries of origin.

It would be very simple to just get a copy of an exploit that you have detected on a system, or develop an exploit and make it look like something from another country, or have it phone back to specific locations.

We never out right assume something comes from a country just based on specific markers like that because it is so easy to fake your origin online.

Thanks a lot for all of this. Since the Russian hacking claims first started up, it has gotten pretty difficult to tell who is speaking knowledgeably and who isn't. My very limited experience with computer security in the private sector hasn't been of much use.

This McAfee interview was posted earlier. Very interesting. He talks about exactly what you are saying with "fingerprinting"

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvj0v0W6yjk

Does this mean the CIA are on trumps side ?

CIA is the ally only to itsself and the enemy of the people it is supposed to protected. Sure looks like a governement run program to me. Every time there is a leak I am not shocked at what they are doing.

Megathreads are counter productive. Information within is lost in the chatter.

'Hi everyone. If you're interested in this subject, just stand over here in the holding pen. We'll get to you eventually'.

Posted this on facebook...first response i get..."wikileaks aka julian assange is employed by Putin. Skeptical" OMFGWTF?????

I've seen that too. "Assange is a Russian agent"

Ridiculous. Even if that were proven true...theyre still legitimate documents...until WL is found faking docs, they still have my trust.

Exactly!! I hate how people are defending government corruption.

If Assange is a Russian Agent then Russia is a whistleblower on some serious corruption. I dont get how Americans can be so blind to this. It was the exact same with the Clinton emails...Everyone disregarded her blatant primary theft from Bernie Sanders and got angry at the messenger.

Got told they had not seen it on the news yet, so how could i know. Nor did they believe Wikileaks.

I tried talking to my family about all the suspicious (and even PROVEN) shit we've seen. They told me I sound like a doom sayer, and it's annoying.

I wasn't even the one who brought it up, I just defended myself when they said I was full of shit. I provided sources, reasonable arguments... and instead, they say 'you sound crazy and we don't want to think about it.' That's some next level shit.

Its so nuts to me that people think like that! And its not a small minority either, its most people.

Yeah we are pushing up against the cliff of cognitive dissonance and brainwashing.

As soon as a major public figure and a couple others make it "acceptable" to doubt and hate the system it will be a cascade

Any references to Israel in these documents?

What happened to this thread with more comments, but not stickied? Did it get deleted for brigading? It was hanging at the top for quite a while and now it is gone... enough upvotes to hit the front page I think...

https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/5y07yp/vault_7_passphrase_released_an_hour_early_after/

Yo fuck John Brennan the director of the CIA. He needs to resign. Everyone start calling out that mother fucker.

oops, car crash ╚(•⌂•)╝

Who pays for all these programs that exploit the people of our (other?) countries?

This is gonna be hard to sweep under the rug right?...

Nope

So should us non-Americans be contacting our governments insisting on an investigation of CIA tapping all of our devices too? This feels like something our American friends could use some help with. As a Canadian i find it crazy that an American intelligence agency is spying on me 24/7

Yeah, I'm sure Justin Castreaux will get right on that...

Yeah because I was going to contact the prime minister. If there is enough outrage something will be said.

Yes.

My german government will only "care" about the leaks if they are spying on Merkel too.

Perhaps Trump was wiretapped just not in a conventional sense

That was always my thought process. Obama specifically said that he did not order a wire tap on Trump- so maybe he didn't get it done officially, maybe he didn't get a 'wire tap' but some other form of surveillance. His refutation was too precise, his words too carefully chosen

If people think the CIA can be stopped they are delusional. To me for the CIA to be stopped the Federal Reserve and U.S. dollar needs to get wiped out. Think of all the money the CIA has hidden away. Billions, if not Trillions of dollars go missing and nobody bats an eye. Its going somewhere. Where is all the CIA drug money going? Basically im saying they can operate with or without the help of tax dollars. All their funding could get cut tomorrow and it probably would barely make a dent in their operations.

This proves to me that wikileaks is comprimised.

How so?

To me it seems like they have released information that seems juicy, however when you really look at it, it's almost all stuff that has been released or suspected. There was another leak that was supposed to bring down Hillary's campaign, and that's gone now with this in it's place. If I were CIA this is what I would release to make it seem like everything at Wikileaks is normal.

I see your point, but I interpret their recent events slightly differently. What has been revealed by WikiLeaks SHOULD have resulted in the prosecution of Clinton and anyone else involved in the illicit trading of state secrets, illegal political contributions and highly questionable weapons deals in the ME. The fact that nothing much came of it (yet) in terms of legal actions has more to do with the complexity of the situation as well as with an incredibly strong establishment opposition to such house-cleaning actions than with WikiLeaks not releasing enough damning information.

The same goes for this release, in my view. What was already revealed in this first part about the CIA (indeed much of which has long been suspected by careful observers) should be sufficient grounds to break up the agency many times over. The fact that it likely won't be taken down is again more testament to their power to control the narrative in the public's eye (those who do not think for themselves on these matters), rather than proof of WikiLeaks being compromised.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still not entirely certain that Julian is alive and that their twitter account wasn't compromised at least at one point, but their publications in recent months have been ground-breaking evidence of real-life conspiracies we previously claimed were going on, but had trouble convincing the public of. It's still an uphill fight, but releases like these can be effective ammunition. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss what they contain.

The whole thing does kind of read as a warning to opponents of the CIA though, dosent it? :)

Yeah, you're right that we shouldn't dismiss information that is helpful to the cause. I have a feeling this leak is 100% true but not earth shattering. I think next leak will be 80% true, then next 60% and so on until they are feeding us BS but most won't realize it. If JA would just come to the balcony I wouldn't feel this way. I believe if he were there he would have by now.

Creeping corruption of trusted sources of information is certainly something to remain vigilant about, but I see no reason to suspect Wikileaks of going down that road at this point.

If you remember where MLK found his end, I can understand why Julian may want to stay away from balconies or open windows for the time being. For all we know he may not even be at the embassy anymore, the question then would be if he left on his own terms and is in hiding from authorities somewhere else, or if said authorities already got to him, in which case your suspicions would be very much warranted.

I see no reason to doubt the validity of their releases though at this point and going forward. My only concern is the degree to which they are curating their content, and what they may decide to keep hidden from the public. There may be legitimate reasons for doing this, but also dubious reasons in the sense of a limited hangout.

Trust but verify, I guess.

So i was just thinking....The Microsoft major push for Windows 10 makes a lot more sense now!

Why is that?

It took this to get you to that point? Not all the commotion about it recording everything and sending it to a server when it first released?

I was not aware of that. It kinda wasn't all over the headlines. I also didn't intend to update and it did it anyways after a power outage lol.

It was all over my news, so I assumed it wad something everyone knew. My computer tried to update I've had to stop it a few times. But i keepyl my 7 install handy in case it ever does go to 10.

Oh that's fun, so they don't even need to back door, just given front door access.

See I go through spurts of paying attention. Sometimes I take a month away from all the bullshit to keep my sanity. Probably happend during one of those months lol.

I totally understand I do something similar, I'll just go dig down different rabbit holes on other topics.

Who are the 22,000?

22,000 AMERICAN IP addresses were spied on by the CIA (Vault7, "Redactions", #5).

Are YOU one of the 22,000 who had their Constitutional rights removed by the CIA?

Let's ask Wikileaks to un-redact the 22,000 IP addresses!!

Would these addresses count as "American Soil"? That place the CIA can't legally operatem

The CIA is also not allowed to get into the realm of SIGINT, but they just made their own NSA instead. Rules and laws are only meant for mere peasants.

So now that we have a better understanding of Vault 7 do we have a better guess at what the Who What When Where Why How tweets from Wikileaks mean?

Funny that Russians decided to release this now...

Yes, I know my enemies. They're the teachers who taught me to fight me. Compromise! Conformity! Assimilation! Submission! Ignorance! Hypocrisy! Brutality! The elite! All of which are American dreams!

The D the E the F the I the A the N the C the E! What? The land of the free? Whoever told you that is your enemy!!!

RATM

I'm pretty sure most of us already knew that the cia/nsa were balls deep spying on everyone.

so like... is Assange even alive?

American citizens on the whole will do nothing about this confirmed information. Most people will feel it doesn't affect their lives directly and will still continue just worrying about their life and the micro stresses and problems they face. This isn't a big enough thing to really get people mad. That's what is really sad. People simply aren't going to react much to this beyond the initial "oh wow" and then move on with business as usual. The system is designed to keep you so preoccupied with just keeping your head above water that there's hardly any energy or time to focus on justice.

Does anyone have the archived link for the vault 7 drop from today?

One concern for me is that our intelligence agencies have already or will come to rely on these tools and this level of information gathering. Gonna be a rough transition when some Millennials running the CIA at a future date lose this level of intel, and are forced back into Cold War era guessing games.

CIA Guide to skipping Windows 8 Activation

6 trillion missing and they can't pay for Windows?

Did anyone else have a 9/11 zip file appear when they downloaded it along with a "detainee list"? There's also a bunch of Scientology stuff that popped up in my previous downloads, was that just random already leaked stuff just for shits? I haven't seen it mentioned yet...

I mean, this is only confirming what I believed to be true already. Now I think we will have a long look back into the past over all the "incidents" which could have been manipulated. I hope that now this has been exposed it will get people to now look into our past theories without calling us lunatics.

There should be a logo or symbol for vault 7 that we can share on social media or change to our social media avatars to raise awareness. most people i asked didnt know about it, CNN is still fucking blasting this wire tapping bull shit to distract us

I used the one from pre release

Search google images for vault 7 year zero it's the first one

Sky is covering it, one shill was saying "it's not that bad, not an invasion of privacy"

user on Voat found this document that mentioned "pizza"

via user: Trumpedupeconomics

Sorry if this had already been posted but wanted to share cause I hadn't seen it here yet

What do you think of your Internet of Things (IoT) now?

This is why you Blockchain

I am sad by the apathy I am seeing in response to this.

I am sad by the apathy I am seeing in response to this.

Check it out, with the complacency that I feared would be a major issue, becoming a major issue, we really need to work together to spread awareness and truth. We seriously can NOT just let the CIA continue to function unchecked, and without the corrupt officials rooted out and tried for treason.

So, was the Fappening a CIA or Russian operation?

Haha cried a little. Thank you.

Did Wikileaks indicate how often these releases will be occurring?

For those of you wondering why it's called a "zero day" exploit it goes back to the software piracy where a "zero day" release was a release of pirated software that was released on the same day as the retail software, so zero day difference.

Not one person has mentioned pizzagate yet. This is awesome!!!

Yeah... until you just did.

CNN has some info on ticker about hacking tools being lost

Tried talking to my mother about this and she immediately just starts going off about Trump and how this is just a smear campaign against the CIA because Trump doesn't like them...

It's ridiculous how I can't talk about anything political without people foaming out the mouth over Trump here in SoCal.

Who cares that the CIA can turn off all your shit and use anything you say against you? Drumpf is dum dum cause the sophisticated CNN and NPR show hosts said so. Ignore how bad this is because Trump obviously worse! This is a partisan issue.

I get not liking the dude but fucking hell, can we talk about something not entirely related without deflecting? I understand it puts your perfect vision of Obama down the gutter, but the truth hurts and is quite frankly terrifying. I hate trying to discuss this with people close to me and they act so indifferent or just deflect. It's bizarre, whataboutism and identity politics need to take a break for the sake of the mental health of the population.

Trump could run into a burning building, save a bunch of Muslim, black, Latino, etc babies, and they would easily find a way to spin it as Trump is evil.

Finally the problem of the deep state is being exposed. But man it really sucks that the Trump administration and his followers have muddied the waters for people like me who already had concerns with the deep state, msm, and other institutions. We are getting lumped in with Trump supporters for thinking like this even though we always did. Where did my people go? This sub has changed so much since the election.

I'm sorry to say it this way, but if this surprises you, you need to seriously go outside.. and take a good look around you. The World of 20 years ago is gone, hell.. The World of 5 years ago is gone and it wont ever be that way again. There are cameras in our Cities watching us, checking our license plates on our vehicles, our own devices that we willingly buy are being used to track our every movement, photographs, calls, texts, etc etc etc.

If any of this surprises you, please, get up from the keyboard, take off your tinfoil hat and go look around.

Thank You

You're welcome. I don't think I really did anything except voice the obvious. Just thinking about it as I read my original statement and type this, I can go through the history of my car's GPS system and find out everywhere it's been. When I bought it originally it had the old owners home address still logged as "home" and everywhere they had been. When I didn't enter anything as "home" my wife asked me why, my response was "Simply because if someone steals the car, they can press "home" and be brought, turn by turn to our house and rob us blind. She hadn't ever thought of that. We have Police vehicles that can see your license plate with an on board camera, automation is the destruction of our humanity, not necessarily Human Kind, but our humanity as people. Growing up, I knew my neighbors, I knew their house was a safe place, I had memorized their phone numbers (everyone's really) and now what do we do? We look at a screen, we don't talk to each other anymore, we pass each other by, distracted by the shiny object in our hands and we NEVER ever question it anymore.... One thing a lot of people rarely ever do anymore is go outside and look upward.... Try it sometime you'll be amazed by what you see.

The one phrase everyone needs to learn and take to heart: "Smart devices are for stupid people".

Sadly, yes. I too am included in this. I own a smartphone, I monitor it heavily, keep my app usage to a minimum, but nothing is safe once connected to the internet.

Do you know what a tinfoil hat is?

http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/weirdalfoil_2322.jpg

Unless you're going to say something like "foreskin"... ew

Tinfoil hat is what conspiracy theorists wear. So your original comment doesn't make much sense.

It kind of does.
If you've been wearing a tinfoil hat worried that the Government is spying on you, no need to worry anymore is there? It's been proven. Take the hat off.. Go outside... get some vitamin D.

What I'm saying is, don't live in the darkness of normalcy or what is perceived anymore to be normal. Go out, question shit you see and hear... get the truth. Spread the truth..

Why would you take it off though if you know the govt is spying on you. Btw I don't feel like arguing. Have a good night

Not arguing with you at all.. This is called a discussion. What would you have to hide? I've personally got nothing to hide, does it bother me? Yeah. But all they're going to get from me is pics of my Wife and I. Me sitting on my couch playing my Xbox.. I mean hardcore shit..

I'd say right now, the CIA is going in to recovery mode. Things are changing quickly and very quietly out in Virginia. But now that it's been exposed I fear things are going to change and not for the better.

You're okay with skype convos being analyzed and sent to the cloud? Do you close the door when you go to the bathroom? It's just your naked body, what do you have to hide? I know I'm comparing apples and oranges, but stop giving up your liberties for "freedom".

A mass surveillance state is not normal. I promise you. I truly do believe we are heading toward an Orwellian state. Please wake up. This is not normal. They are not protecting us from terrorists. My prediction is that this will be used to target those against the US govt. I am sure many of us here are already on a list.

I agree, it's not normal. But it's a reality.
As for your statement "they are not protecting us from terrorists", can you say that with 100% accuracy?

Think about how many Android and iPhones there are around the World. Think about now all the data they're collecting, it would be physically impossible to read all of that data, so you create a keyword flag and then review the filtered material.

Do I believe that this technology has been used also for nefarious purposes.. HELL YES I do. I believe the CIA has been keeping tabs on regular citizens since 9/11 and Bush went off the charts with his well publicized surveillance programs.

I'm not giving up my liberties for "freedom" or the illusion of such, I am well protected, I know what needs to be done to protect myself and my family and I am doing those things.

You and I have the same beliefs that this is going to be used against the Citizens of our Country. We are also of the same belief that it will only get worse from here. I agree... I'm counting on it.
With that said though, this program, this technology directly effects a small number of people, it collects data from a large number but really only changes the lives of a small number of people.

I mean, knowing this today and not knowing it yesterday, how dramatically has your life changed? Can you tell me that?

the first interesting thing i found in vault 7 is also available online for free here: http://zguide.zeromq.org/page:all

Some interesting notes:

We live in a connected world, and modern software has to navigate this world. So the building blocks for tomorrow's very largest solutions are connected and massively parallel. It's not enough for code to be "strong and silent" any more. Code has to talk to code. Code has to be chatty, sociable, well-connected. Code has to run like the human brain, trillions of individual neurons firing off messages to each other, a massively parallel network with no central control, no single point of failure, yet able to solve immensely difficult problems. And it's no accident that the future of code looks like the human brain, because the endpoints of every network are, at some level, human brains.

If you've done any work with threads, protocols, or networks, you'll realize this is pretty much impossible. It's a dream. Even connecting a few programs across a few sockets is plain nasty when you start to handle real life situations. Trillions? The cost would be unimaginable. Connecting computers is so difficult that software and services to do this is a multi-billion dollar business.

So we live in a world where the wiring is years ahead of our ability to use it. We had a software crisis in the 1980s, when leading software engineers like Fred Brooks believed there was no "Silver Bullet" to "promise even one order of magnitude of improvement in productivity, reliability, or simplicity".

Brooks missed free and open source software, which solved that crisis, enabling us to share knowledge efficiently. Today we face another software crisis, but it's one we don't talk about much. Only the largest, richest firms can afford to create connected applications. There is a cloud, but it's proprietary. Our data and our knowledge is disappearing from our personal computers into clouds that we cannot access and with which we cannot compete. Who owns our social networks? It is like the mainframe-PC revolution in reverse.

The author is Pieter Hintjens, CEO of iMatix. Wikipedia:

While in his position as iMatix CEO, Hintjens founded the ZeroMQ software project together with Martin Sustrik. ZeroMQ is a high-performance asynchronous messaging library aimed at use in scalable distributed or concurrent applications.

In November 2013, Hintjens announced EdgeNet, a project building upon ZeroMQ for mesh networks. EdgeNet aims to build a secure, anonymous peer-to-peer alternative to the internet. Hintjens also authored several ZeroMQ projects, such as CZMQ, zproto, and Malamute.

I also found this blog post about EdgeNet: https://taotetek.net/2013/11/04/the-edge-net-and-why-projects-like-this-matter/

Which includes this quote from Hintjens:

We built the Internet to be a space for freedom and opportunity. Instead it has become the greatest surveillance system ever. My name is Pieter Hintjens, CEO of iMatix, and I want you to help me fix that.

Without privacy and anonymity, we lose our freedom of speech. And without that, we become slaves to a narrative where the powerful run amok, without oversight or regulation. I truly believe we’re facing the extinction of our digital freedoms, and then our real world freedoms. By joining in this project and contributing, you help turn back the tide. – Pieter Hintjens

EdgeNet aims to build a secure, anonymous peer-to-peer alternative to the internet. Did this alone make Hintjens a threat to the surveillance state? Did the CIA assassinate him? Cause of death was metastasized bile duct cancer that had spread to his lungs, and he chose voluntary euthanasia.

So it's safe to assume that whole Apple vs the FBI thing was just a show for us? Seems like they just did this to help boast faith in apple products and get more people to adopt or something? just hypothesizing if the case was legitimate I'd like to hear how or why the FBI couldn't just access the phones without telling anyone.

I don't think FBI and CIA ever cooperate on that level, though it could have been someone with this CIA know-how who ultimately gave FBI their solution so that they could drop the case. FBI seems like the dumb ones, compared to NSA and CIA.

I have a feeling it was more about testing the waters to see how cowboy they could really get legally e.g. Civil forfiture.

I have 0 belief that they took as long as they claimed to hack the phone themselves, they have the cyber universe on tap flowing in via fiber optics to Pennsylvania avenue from the server farm in Utah. It's ALL there, all it takes is a reason (or an urge) and the proper job title to tap into that flow and be able to retrace any given smartphone using person's daily life including but not limited to: gps data, texts, phone conversations, "secure" chat apps, normal chat apps, internet history and emails.

ok part 1 so obviously more parts now my question is how many more parts

Something that is interesting to me: it talks about how the malware is used for not just keylogging, but stuff like listening in through the mic. One of the documents talks about how the CIA hacking tools have been passed around by lots of different contractors and the conclusion is: "who even knows at this point who has them and is using them"... I haven't heard about this recently, but a couple of years ago a lot of people talked about how they would talk about something near their phone and computer, and then mysteriously ads will show up on their computer. Maybe some of these tools are being used used for all sorts of stuff - including black hat affiliate marketing.

I woke up listening to the Bill Burr podcast yesterday and he mentioned how odd it was that people would buy 400 dollar Nike sneakers because they're 'Jordans' or 'Kobes'. So I got curious and did a Google search for a couple different Nike shoes to see what they look like and then went on with my day. That night around 12 hours later my credit card was used (and declined luckily) to buy 400 dollars worth of something from Nike.com.

Now that could just be a crazy coincidence but I thought they may use search behavior to better cater the purchases to your own interests to avoid fraud protection? I have no clue but it was a surreal moment for sure.

Jordans are also the shoe of choice for card fraudsters.

That's a good point, but when I read your post, I immediately thought that Obama or his surrogates have these tools. There was a story written off as fake news that said trump leaks may have come from his Android phone. It would be Obama's style to do this.

Anyone know when the next leak is?

To hell wth the CIA.

Cunts Infecting America.

Wikileaks is a psy-op everyone is falling for. Like a stack of dominos.

yeah that makes perfect sense, the CIA making the CIA look like the world's biggest criminal organisation.

It's a massive psy-op by the CIA. Believe what you want. Wikileaks is part the cabal.

This guy gets it ^

Hillary will never be your president.

Over the past weekend a former CIA agent practically got his dick sucked in this sub.

Just sayin..

Only 745 comments. Pssh, ain't even 747.

Who believes this info was actually released by the CIA because they lost control of all these tools?

"I don't care, i got nothing to hide"

I would say to this "yes you should, they also know your porn browsing history"

Speaking of porn browsing history. is it possible some of these agencies have this information stored on some blade server under a rice-bowl in Indochina?

I've had this question on my mind for a while and now seems the perfect time to ask. :D

They have video of everyone jerking off

IT'S ALL PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING AT THIS POINT.

vaudeville2017

What pisses me off is we have to have the majority of this discussion in conspiracy. I love conspiracy theories and aliens and all of that but this is politics and it is crazy that semi-fascism keeps us talking about this leak here in the corner.

😂😂Lol at all the autistic screeches who said Vault 7 would be Pizzagate related. 😂

Wikipedia said yesterday's release is just 1 percent of Vault 7. This is going to be a year long event, I think.

It can be if you could imagine Podesta and his ilk having access to the camera on all the electronic devices in your children's room.

All someone has to do is make a bullshit code on 4chan to madlib themselves into conspiracy

Is Podesta your uncle? We know you're a pervert!

What's REALLY the implications of leaks like this though? Didn't we already kinda know all this stuff already? Didn't we know the NSA was spying on us before the Snowden leaks? What do we do now that we have proof and why should I care?

Money and confidential deniability. Companies will now be forced to update their security and government will find ways around it. Until laws change this is still a security vs. privacy tradeoff. The proof should fuel the privacy side of the debate if the public cared about liberty.

If anyone read bigpharmasucks comment then you have to realize the only thing to do is take to the streets.

/u/houston_harris this is one of the threads I mentioned.

So even if Russia did hack, no one will believe it now. I wonder if they will start hacking more now cause they can say it t was the CIA. RIP Michael Hastings.

Oh they'll believe it.

All of this is real. Talked to a friend at HP software security division. They are telling employees in his department NOT to read the documents because they are in fact still classified and they would loose their security clearances.

The shitty part is that they could really use the information as these attacks are now in the wild and other nefarious hackers can use them.

Then that's a corporration he doesn't need to work at. And I don't need to buy.

You can't water down your ideals and expect change.

All of this could easily be used to create a perfectly good alibi for someone. Learn to play the game. Have scripted conversations in front of your devices. Tape your phone to the bottom of a cross country semi truck, misdirection google searches..ect ect.

Covert spying isn't for evidence gathering, it's for resource management.

possibly two tidbits...

CIA with google root keys? https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_15729311.html

CIA uses Splunk for their "listening post" https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_17760568.html

Yeah - we all knew this, hows palantir doing these days.

FUCK that company...

its like the whole damn world is a simulation built only for me, all of you are npcs for my player, damnnnnn

Clinton. All manner of people made excuses and stated that "nothing is going to happen -they'll just get away with it.

FISA Courts - follow this....

I think it's amazing how until yesterday, the idea of the government spying on you through your TV was ridiculed and seen as a crazy conspiracy theory.

You might want to keep more up to date with the news.

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/samsung-smart-tv-spying/

Not really fair, because the mainstream would frame that story as: sure samsung TV has the capability to record everything...but the govt getting in and hacking my TV is tin foil paranoia.

Checking over @ Slashdot, since geeky stuff is their jam, the reports on wikileaks where increadibly light... there was however an unconnected report on Skype, outlook, and xbox live going down on tuesday mornin~ 6__6 i bet ya a Dollar this is related~!

https://tech.slashdot.org/story/17/03/07/160242/microsoft-says-it-is-working-on-fix-after-users-report-skype-outlook-xbox-live-outages

I still think wikileaks is at the very least unwittingly working for Russia. The more confusion and discourse there is about trusting our own government the better for Russia. By no means do I think our government is perfectly innocent, but looking though some of these documents it looks like alot of them are just proposed ideas and not things they've actually done. That being said, they've definitely done some shady shit. My point is pick your poison, the dictatorship of trump and Russia, or the shady but mostly free American government.

oh they aren't free, they charge a lot of money for favors! which American government are you referring to?

Trump and Russia...Russia to Trump: Donald, you work for us now, here's what you do: fight for American jobs, insist that everything possible be made in America, renegotiate trade deals to benefit America, fight to have energy actually produced in America, work on making sure that Sharia law extremists don't get into America. And also tweet like crazy. Do this for...mother Russia? ....in order for me to even entertain Russia Trump w/out evidence, that explanation needs to not make me laugh...not happening.

Where are you getting your info? He's done virtually nothing to help the average american so far. Sure if you're rich you'll be getting a tax break, but if you're the average american you're probably losing your healthcare. As for the Russia thing, last I checked at least 5 of his higher ups had ties to Russia, as for him just look at the companies he hires, not american, and generally have ties to Russia. Where there's smoke there is usually fire. Oh and between all the travel ban countries, there are 955621 visa holders and Refugees combined. Out of the 955621 only 28 were convicted to some degree of terrorism. P.s He's brought all of zero jobs back, he just takes credit for things companies where doing anyway.

You've been hit by...you've been struck by

A smooth PSY OP

REDDIT are you OK?

Been out of the loop for a bit, can anyone give me a quick summary of Vault 7? I will be looking into it, just curious what lead to this, if anyone knows.

Just read the summary from wikileaks.

It's amazing some of the revelations uncovered from the documents.

https://www.rightsidepundit.com/2017/03/08/wikileaks-vault-7-cia-spying/

The CIA and other intelligence agencies simply have too much power, not to mention how this is also unconstitutional.

Remember when Robert Steale told us how awesome the cia is?

No offense to anyone, but I want to file this under the "no shit" category.

The fact that these weapons have gotten into "the wild" is concerning, but unfortunately nothing new.

I remember 20 years ago when we would all be labeled paranoid.

Russian hack being faked by CIA (according to Assange source) is "no shit"?

Genuinely hoping that something interesting comes from this, but not holding my breath. Mostly because I can't hold my breath for very long.

I love injecting humor into the horror that reality has become

Wow this guy is a piece of work. So sorry that the young kids these days aren't the traitorous pieces of shit that you're used to.

Maybe there's hope for these millennials just yet.

Scumbag old CIA boss laments the fact that millennials just aren't as sleazy as his generation was.

Amazing they can make the CIA out to be the victim here. No accountability whatsoever. I say bring it on old fuckers, let's have a generational war. You old fucks hoard all the property and money and then call us lazy because we cant buy houses. You got them for a few years work but we're supposed to work a lifetime and then some? We need to fuck these baby boomers up.

Wikileaks has been compromised for months, Vault 7 is just the CIA waving its dick in everyone's face.

Yes, CTR told me Wikileaks is compromised, and you should never leak anything there or you will die.

Barf

Does this shed some light on the Malaysian airlines flight? Or the passenger flight that was shot down over Ukraine by "Russian missiles" - might have that location and perp backwards on the last one.

Would America have to pay these families a settlement or would they be charged with a war crime / crime by the UN if there was enough evidence the plans were cyberjacked by the CIA?

There are dozens of photos of the Russians moving the BUK missile from Russia to Donbass in Ukraine.

https://www.bellingcat.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Origin-of-the-Separatists-Buk-A-Bellingcat-Investigation1.pdf

That's right!!

I wrote this article to help convert nonbelievers. The article doesn't contain any information you don't already know, but it's written for the purpose of being palatable to the people who say, "oh, i'm not doing anything wrong, let 'em have at it."

TL;DR: three reasons for people to care about the CIA's hacking arsenal.

  1. The CIA lost control of their cyber arsenal. Now, not only do you need to trust the CIA, you need to trust everybody with a computer. Non-proliferation matters.
  2. UMBRAGE wholly undermines the connection between Cozy Bear / Fancy Bear / Guccifer and DNC. If UMBRAGE isn't real (it is), then that needs to be refuted on the record, or else you can't claim Russian interference. UMBRAGE draws every forensic investigation moving forward into question.
  3. The CIA chose to hoard zero day exploits, leaving millions of Americans to be preyed on by criminal hackers, despite repeated assurances by the Obama administration that they'd do no such thing.

We need to convert people, or else this isn't going nowhere fast since the MSM is pulling the nothing to see here charade. Average Joe isn't going to care that the CIA is listening through his television, but he might care that the CIA acted incredibly negligently, then can spoon feed from there.

I wrote the article with that goal in mind.

Nice cover up Colbert... It's amazing to see propoganda being so obvious.

Podesta is fine as far as I'm concerned. I've read the emails and I'd say based on the evidence you reddit and 4chan folk have supplied, there is a roughly .000001 percent chance your thesis is correct.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Are you a bot?

On the other hand I KNOW that he is a huge proponent of UFO disclosure. And he almost made it to the whitehouse. The elite couldn't let that happen, hence, pizzagate.

Did you guys see the xkcd on this? Downplays the fuck out of it.

What the fuck it has to do with anything is the guy above commented that this story relates to Pizzagate because they can spy on kids though the tv or phone? Or something. I'm super annoyed by all the people on here basically accusing a person of one of the most heinous crimes with no evidence. Podesta has been on my radar for some time due to our mutual interest in UFO's. I can't state this enough: if UFO's are real, then it is the most important discovery of our time, and it's being suppressed by those who stand to gain from free energy being hidden.

I saw this on Twitter... is it real?!?!

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C6X566-U4AAcSUA.jpg

seems legit.. haha

What if the CIA only used comic sans on government documents?

Step 1.) Change profile picture to orwellz big brother poster. Step 2.) Cover cell phone camera lens with duct tape. Step 3.) Post photo of the above step and #notmybigbrother Step 4.) Spread the pictures of duct tape ribbons (like the pink breast cancer ribbon) using same # in above step.

Wikileaks, the elites messenger pigeon for whatever they want to spin.

Nonstop vaudeville.

On my way to work yesterday some idiot on the radio started talking about the leaks, gave the classic "I don't care because I have nothing to hide" argument but then took it step further and said she WANTS them to be able to spy on us through TV's and computers because "that's how they keep America safe"

I can't tell if these people are brainwashed or are just shills.

Was it Rush Limbaugh?

Why is it named vault 7?

I cannot seem to get conspiracy nor wikileaks thread to approve a new post for this but I have have found some damning evidence.

CIA may have attack servers in China.

Wikileaks accidentally may have forgotten to censor a post. I tried posting this on the subreddit /WikiLeaks but it was not approved.

The screenshot does not censor the username of the windows user davidb and also fails to censor 2 very interesting IP's

https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/files/image2015-6-26%206:56:10.png

Here is what INTRIGUES me mostly. The IP he runs tracert on is from China

Lookup IP Address Location For IP: 220.231.37.144 Continent: Asia (AS) Country: China IP Location Find In China (CN) Capital: Beijing State: Beijing City Location: Beijing

reference for page https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_18383036.html

Does CIA have a VPN in China to make it look like China is the source country of hacking attempts?

Take a look at the next screenshot of the tracert to the 220.231.37.145 IP address

https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/files/image2015-6-25%2013:51:59.png

Note how the IP ends in 145 this time instead of 144 and the number of hops to reach that IP. Also take note of the ms it takes to reach the destination 1ms. That means whoever took this screenshot is connected to the same network.

Comment with your thoughts.

The CIA may have a range of servers in the 220.231.37.XXX range

Of course they have servers in China, Russia, et cetera. You think Alphabay is ran by a bunch of Russian gangsters in tracksuits selling drugs on the darknet? Think again.

Interesting fact, was going through the raw dump of Vault 7 today with a friend. They have a ton of SSL certs, one for Goddaddy, one for BGHJ.NET, and another one. It's almost like the CIA wants their data uploaded to clearnet from targets to make it look like other countries are the culprits. If I were the CIA and I wanted to remain 100% anonymous on my malware, I'd have my trojan download a copy of tor.exe run it on startup and have the clients upload data to an onion instead of clearnet. I was decompiling a .reg file that contained a base64 encoded dll that infected pc's and it uploaded the target's data to notepad.cc (never used or heard of until then) site is no longer functional (which is also odd) apparently the site was a lot like pastebin but more secure.

Just heard about this, can someone give me a TL;DR of the major stuff to catch me up if link me to an organized collection of info from it? Thanks.

Can we get rid of the NSA?

Sure, but you wont like the method...

Try to make another root-level comment, not a reply to anyone except the post.

Your links got picked up by the automod so I approved them.

Now all the comments are visible... Weird.

They should also probably unsticky that utterly useless AMA...

Awesome.

I was just discussing this with my girlfriend. This password seems like one that would be ranked as too weak for like an online Costco account.

I was just discussing this with my girlfriend. This password seems like one that would be ranked as too weak for like an online Costco account.

ELI5?

That's kinda bullshit for every day passwords. Every day passwords are all about making sure other people can't remember them, not having a computer brute force it. If you've got a virus that's a keylogger you're already fucked and it doesn't matter what your password is.

That was only the case for brute force attacks using rainbow tables. It is much more common now for hackers to use dictionaries of common passwords and systematic combinations of these on hashed passwords. They can then add the discovered ones to the dictionary.

Here is a good article about how it works

VM escapes? Like software that can operate itself outside the VM it was run in, out onto the host machine?

Do you mind explaining for those of us who are less technologically literate please haha

The chilling effect of being told you are being spied on is very legitimate and real.

No way there is a reason people have been taping their Webcam's for awhile now

Once the attention shifts away from this leak you will most likely go back to being called a conspiracy theorist for saying the CIA listens to people through SmartTV microphones. People have short memories and even shorter attention spans for this kind of information.

Same here

I personally don't b/c I don't fully trust it to not be a honeypot of some kind, so the only way I'd even download the torrent is with some shitty throw-away computer. I'll gladly sit back and let others' research come to me though.

Oh i dont blame them for anything. I can see through the shit, im just saying that they could pull the same shit that our MSM has been pulling now

Because I know more than you. A lot more.

And you're all being trolled, taking the bait as usual. lol

One might call it a... Zero Year

LOL perfect, you have a wonderful day.

High energu

I think wikileaks.org is actually attempting to bait Trump into giving them more visibility, since Trump needs to make his case that the deep state is manufacturing the Russia story.
What is Trump to do, hold up evidence that the CIA can make it look like Russia is attacking? Or minimize the leaks to try and save the CIA?
Seems like Trump has no choice. The chessmaster here continues to be wikileaks.org

CIA has the money. If they cant get to it themselves they just buy/trade for it.

& they don't have time to adress the CIA fucking them over.
The life of a good citizen is filled with enough obstructions alone, they hand over that responsability to the government in return for a false feeling of safety & good conscience.

He's a fucking shill.

Found one!

careful the mods don't like direct accusations

They had trouble funding 'Snowden'.

Did they? Why do you say that, because Oliver Stone said so?

Just because someone else would do it if it wasn't them, isn't good enough. Pretty sure that was the standard defense at the post-war trials for nazi war criminals.

Unbelievable, with some many juicy nuggets in this leak, geez, this is particularly juicy. If it was still a secret, they have fully been outed for the power-hungry, evil bastards that they are.

It is! So many times I have wanted to call people out, but that would just be mean spirited. But man, oh so funny!

The one phrase everyone needs to learn and take to heart: "Smart devices are for stupid people".

Why would you take it off though if you know the govt is spying on you. Btw I don't feel like arguing. Have a good night

source?

Why is that?

It took this to get you to that point? Not all the commotion about it recording everything and sending it to a server when it first released?

Amazing they can make the CIA out to be the victim here. No accountability whatsoever. I say bring it on old fuckers, let's have a generational war. You old fucks hoard all the property and money and then call us lazy because we cant buy houses. You got them for a few years work but we're supposed to work a lifetime and then some?
