Control of r/Writing Prompts has been seized because somebody has been posting things that are Very critical of the state. Now they do not permit political or polemic posts, even ones alluding to very important modern issues.

/u/AdalineTheMaker tell us again how there is no censorship on the internet

You don't even know what censorship is, any of you. You can make your own subreddit for just about any purpose you like.

The catch is, so can other groups. And they don't have to put up with your shit if they don't want to.

That's freedom, not censorship.

Saul Alinsky would be proud. Demoralize, diminish, disregard and tell them it's freedom. Awesome!!!

On the contrary, I am empowering you. Go make a subreddit.

That's what we did.

You stated not one of us knew what censorship is. That's demoralizing. I can go without that kind of empowerment thank you very much. I can go without your sub also.

So sensitive. You doing alright?

No..your downvote on my comment has made me suicidal. Thanks for asking.

Actually, I have not voted on anything here. Someone doesn't like you. That's kind of sad.

That's the real world. Not everyone is going to like you. If it makes you sad deal with it. Don't try to project it on to me. It makes you look like a psychopath.

I'm not projecting anything, just stating an opinion. Not that it shocks me that you can't tell the difference.

See, now you are out of your depth. None of your catch phrases do you any good, so all you have are ineffectual words to bandy about.

You really need to get better at it, if you want to play this game.

What game are we playing? The one where you pretend to be concerned about someone while achieving an agenda to make me look dumb? While you attempt to demoralize another human being again? That game? Or the one where you say it's just your opinion, knowing that if you get enough people to share your opinion you are the majority and can use that to silence the minority. Back to censorship. You've already lost.

Censorship is bullshit on reddit. Go make a subreddit. Say whatever you like.

You have NO argument. Just your game of trolls, which is the game I mentioned if you can remember that far back.

Fuck that, you are keeping the bar way too low for yourself

Geez, you suck at this. Let the other guy talk. He was doing much better.

Reddit is heavy handedly censored. And they unwittingly do the work of tyrants.

Agreed it is heavily censored, disagree it is unwittingly. Look at all the hurdles put in front of men. Less than 1% controls a majority of the wealth, meaning they are the ones that control competition. Big time players like Reddit, FB, Twitter, Google, Netflix, etc etc all exist for a reason. This isn't a free market. Entities as giant as the aforementioned are allowed to exist. Think about it, they own it all, how can there ever be any genuine competition. We still have the bar too low and we still think too small. If greed and corruption is allowed to go unchecked what would be the motivation to stop?

Too true. Very well said.

Sad. That was a really nice subreddit and I loved the political themed prompts that I would sometimes see.

The one I got banned for posting. They banned me for reposting it after they deleted it the first time.

[WP] A technologically advanced shadow-government uses Quantum Insert Hacks (redirection of internet traffic to convincingly identical but altered mirror sites), to attempt to or ruin the lives of dissenters, or subdue them. This ends up making things FAR worse. FAR FAR worse.

Sheesh. They a little touchy? If there was no truth to this, it'd be accepted as a cool, if far-fetched, science-fiction premise.

Apparently so. It is sad. I actually have respect for some of the moderators there. But still, every rationalization they come up with to excuse why they target the deletion of what they very liberally define as 'political posts' seems like utter BULLSHIT.

Writing prompt: You find yourself watching the slow insidious creep of censorship into every facet of your life while being gaslit by elected government officials and a complicit corporate media that claim to be fighting for democracy. Just going to work creates panic attacks because you're not sure who you can talk to about it. Surely some of them see it too. They can't all be mindless sheep. They can't all be the new Nazi informers. But how do you find them?

Sums it up pretty well actually. We are on the precipice of something VERY dangerous. And people will not even know what hit them until they have no rights left.

Totally agree. And now it's being fast tracked.

Aye, and all of our tools we have to counteract it are being co-opted or revoked.

The co-opted part is what's scary. People make a conscious decision to do it whether it's for greed, religion, political beliefs or just the go along to get along mentality that infests our halls of governance.

That's right. Co-option is why true revolution cannot be.

And yeah, well said, once again.

It isn't censorship if done by a private entity on their own platform that you literally have no "right" to be on. Using reddit is a privilege.

Aaron Swartz would probably disagree with this if he were still alive. Edit: nice attempt to spin consumerism as a privilege. FFS

Aaron Swartz would probably disagree with this if he were still alive.

Doesn't matter that it is still the truth. That isn't even an argument, the fact of the matter is that you don't have a right to be on reddit, I don't know where this entitlement people have came from.

It's like thinking because I have a restaurant you have a right to eat there. Nope. I can refuse service to anyone for any reason. Do I have to serve someone who doesn't speak english?

Good luck with that restaurant

Good argument, it doesn't change the fact that it is perfectly within my rights to do that as I am the proprietor of that business.

Where do your rights end the rights of those who invested in reddit begin? Considering you just use the platform and have not contributed to what the creators see it as?

Once again, you diminish my role as a consumer. That is my contribution. I am necessary for success.

Once again, you diminish my role as a consumer. That is my contribution. I am necessary for success.

I thin you are actually overemphasizing your role as a consumer. People in this subreddit are not the usual target for reddit for instance. They will ban people for posting inflammatory shit that can run off advertisers-- Because advertisers are how reddit make money.

That's why FPH and CoonTown were banned for instance, it looked terrible for Reddit, who makes money through advertising. You are nothing to reddit, they wouldn't miss me or you if we left.

You fail to take into account the power of numbers. As to the original reason for this entire thread, you only appear to me to be someone who is actively defending the redefinition of "inflammatory", in its pursuit of an agenda that includes censorship.

My point is that you are the minority, not the majority. It is likely the guys from writing prompts dont want their sub flooded with political crap, is that so bad?

You don't even attempt to refute my argument, you seem to want to just stroke your own biases. Where do the owners of reddit and the likes rights end and your right to post here begin?

Is it in their subs rules? If not, have they amended the rules, stating the reason? Seems to me that would be the proper way to pursue that, instead of going straight to banning.

I don't know if it is in their rules. My point is the admins there control the subreddit. You have no intrinsic right to post anything you want on it without retribution.

It's shitty admin abuse to ban you, but that's it.

What if the government secretly owns the private company?

You can't prove a negative. By that logic no private firm could do anything because they may be secretly owned by the government?

The keyword would be secret, meaning they appear to not be owned by the government, which is why this can continue. It still doesn't address the whole "right" to use platforms people feel they have.

It's not a negative.

r/writing prompts = Psy-op

Most of Reddit = Psy-Op =/

There is an obvious and concerted effort to prevent anything subversive from reaching the front pages of r/all. R/videos created a new sub "political videos" to quarantine dangerous ideas. Only content that conforms with the mainstream Democrats and to a lesser extent the mainstream Republicans is permitted. A handful of subs still manage to leak through, but I'm guessing it's only a manner of time before subs like r/conspiracy are neutralized. Interestingly, the posts from this sub that make it to r/all tend to be the LEAST credible, suggesting a sophisticated counter-intelligence operation involving black propaganda.

Fascinating. I'd believe it. Reddit has gone to shit in the past few years... Especially after Reddit got sold and Especially after the intelligence leaks, several years back.

Thanks for sharing your information.

There is DEFINITELY a systemic, mass, Co-intel apparatus on Reddit. Utilizing misdirection, deliberate cultivation of ignorance, 'meme warfare' and black propaganda. It is so glaringly apparent.

I think they will keep r/conspiracy as it is so they can see what people know and 'threat-matrix' them.

reddit is corporate controlled space, nothing more. expect shills, control freaks and outright censorship

Too true. Very well said.
