The source of this quote is the Iran-Contra hearings about some shady weapons/drugs dealings of people in the Reagan administration. Whether Reagan himself knew or authorized the dealings is disputed, per Wikipedia.

The only way to stop these people is to stand up and say, Enough is enough. Are we there yet?

I fear that in this 24/7 cycle of news that if Chomsky or Bernie went to speak the truth, they might not receive mass media coverage for it. Sy Hersh can't get any US based media outlet to publish his work - as a result, if one wants to read what he's writing, one has to go searching for it - a process that unfortunately many Americans are not inclined to do. My other worry is that if they (any major whistleblower) was silenced, it would be in a manner of Seth Rich or Michael Hastings - a "mugging" or a "car crash" (nothing to see here folks, don't look at the man behind the curtain) - where the only people who do followup on the investigations are labeled as kooks.

It's called the CIA, who answer to foreign bankers and secret societies before the POTUS let alone the U.S. Congress or the American people. This should be apparent by now.
