You will encounter major fluctuations in your project. People you can trust in spring will be ''converted'' by fall. This is a great struggle but to suppose and set in stone ''trusted names'' is a farcry.
While not required, you are requested to use the NP (No Participation) domain of reddit when crossposting. This helps to protect both your account, and the accounts of other users, from administrative shadowbans. The NP domain can be accessed by replacing the "www" in your reddit link with "np".
Right next to a username (to the right) is a little icon. Left click it and you type in clever identifiers and even change colors of the background. Yours, for instance, is orange and says "for shame".
Sure thing. It's a great add-on. Not sure I've seen vanilla reddit in several years. Be sure to check out nightmode (it's easy on the eyes).
The tag system is very helpful. I added RES at the end of my post above because I wasn't quite sure if basic reddit even had it. Been awhile and I cannot remember. Anyways, it helps to identify people whom travel similar spaces. Some for good, others..for other reasons.
For real, my pages lookk like a kaleidoscope--especially here. I'd show you, but I want to protect user privacy, even if some of them are shitheads. What I tag people as is not always very kind. But, I know who's who immediately and how that's relevant to my time and/or interests.
Check out the other options as well. RES can do lots of things.
Overt partisans are labeled- Dems/blue, Repub/red. Hardcore Trumpers are normally orange. Their equating opposition is green. Mods are pink. Spammers are yellow.
The breakdown here normally follows mostly Orange, then yellow, then green. All others are peppered in there. I made a science out of this shit, and I continually ensure that I'm as accurate as possible in my personal judgement of things. I'm rarely completely off-base in these observations.
Thanks again for your help, one last question on it - what benefit is there to highlighting a user's? (Hover, highlight). Does it work like a tag or...?
See the above comment. The highlight you're referring to is mainly temporary, for one single thread and/or page. Say there's an interestinig thread going on and someone is quite involved, posting a lot, etc, you can highlight them and make them easier to follow in that particular thread or page. To "highlight" them more permanently, that's what the "tag" is for.

Still tagged, bro.

Tagged? For what

For spamming t_l nonsense, and now you're in attempted-joke territory.
I don't care. Go ahead. I'm just one person who mentioned my action publicly. Others can make up their own minds.

How do I tag people?

Cheers, your explanation has persuaded me to get it. (Was unclear on it). Will explore.

I've been finding that I'm having to try and consciously recognise names AND whether they're helpful etc. This looks great.

Ah that's fine. Curious, do you do a tag per colour or how do you organise the scheme with which you tag people?
Nightmode is gorgeous btw

Those seem intuitive. Assuming you've disabled the preset ones for mods etc? Think I'll have to do that to avoid confusing myself.
n/a _Ph03niX 2017-04-05
Mine don't have presets that always show. I do the pink as sort of a little inside joke to myself. Secret is out now I guess.

You mean hovering the cursor over a U/N?
n/a LupinePeregrinans 2017-04-05
Yup. Hover over u/n and it says Ignore, highlight, gold or send message.
Unsure what the highlight does?

The only unbiased news show I watch regularly is the No Agenda podcast.
They shine the spotlight on most of the names you have up there and expose them for the lying scumbags that they are.
Seriously, have a listen or 2, then expect your list to change.
