One hour ago - Trump gives authority to Pentagon to set troop levels in Syria.

President Trump has delegated to the Pentagon the authority to set the American military troop levels in Iraq and Syria. The move restores a process that was in place prior to the Bush and Obama administrations and is another sign of how the White House is giving military commanders greater flexibility in their operations.
"The President has delegated the authority for Force Management Levels (FML) for Iraq and Syria to the Secretary," said Captain Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, referring to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.
On March 30, the Pentagon made this announcement:
In order to maintain tactical surprise, ensure operational security and force protection, the coalition will not routinely announce or confirm information about the capabilities, force numbers, locations, or movement of forces in or out of Iraq and Syria,” said Eric Pahon, a Pentagon spokesman.
On April 13, McMaster was saying he wanted 50,000 troops in Syria.
Please see my post on France's declaration of proof today that the chemical attack was conducted by Assad.
With reports of Israel conducting airstrike on Damascus airport it could be important
Edit: Forgot to point out that Turkey conducted airstrikes on Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq yesterday. If you're not aware of it, the US just announced approval of a 300 million dollar arms sale to the Kurdish rebels.

This is how they are going to ramp up the war without declaring the war, by increasing troop levels in Syria.

I'm wondering where the Carl Vinson carrier group is right about now.

In the Pacific with the Japanese fleet, I'm pretty sure.

Last I heard it was in the Indian Ocean.

It is actually heading to Korea and should be there by the end of the month, but there have been other things en route in the region. The "armada going to North Korea" thing was the 'miscommunication.'
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
It's also possible that the Senate and House weren't just talking about North Korea today.
n/a Spider__Jerusalem 2017-04-27
Fair point.
I think that when they met today it was so that Trump has room to maneuver with the press and with the people. "Look, I met with every Senator, didn't I?"
n/a WitchyWarrior 2017-04-27
Yup. And he was in there with them for less than 15 minutes. I don''t know what he could have accomplished in that time frame.
He was in there long enough to say hi, here's my top advisors, listen to them. Bye The reports when it was over was that they still had no real idea what the stance was on NK. When asked how the meeting went, a reply was, "It was ok." LOL
UGH

Didnt I read early Russia is removing like half of their Air Force in Syria?

https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201704261053021976-russia-withdraws-aircraft-syria/
Well half only equates to at most 17 planes. Not a big deal I would guess.
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
Yeah, I'm not sure on where they're moving them.
n/a TJG01 2017-04-27
This only means trump can't be blamed directly for this

Being surprised is nice, it's just unfortunate that these surprises mean loss of life... fucking society man
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
I'm upset. I hope alot more people get upset if they announce large number of troops. Oh wait, didn't they already make a statement about not releasing number of troops deployed? FUCK!
n/a The_Veracity_Sector 2017-04-27
Well for what its worth, it says to fight ISIS. Although I'm sure it won't be worth much.

My theory is probably not true, but I was wondering if this whole warmongering thing was a necessary part of some kind of deal.
Could the military and military intelligence agencies (possible military industrial complex as a whole) be working in tandem to take down one part of the deep state, pizzagate, but at the same time requesting that Trump beat the war drums to keep business going. I am thinking that there must be some patriotic or at least sensible people in the military don't want their whole country getting fucked while their buddies get fucked from war and not taken care of afterwards.
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
I'm thinking Trump is a warmonger now.
n/a Orange_Menace 2017-04-27
The man literally promised to "bomb the shit" out of his enemies and said he is the most militaristic guy you've ever seen. He was clearly a warmonger during the campaign but no one chose to listen - and his actions show this. He goes straight for confrontational escalation rather than flexing soft power (sanctions, blockades, other economic measures).
Trump does what suits his ego, he saw how the media loved his little pseudo airstrike in Syria so my belief is he will want to be a "war time president" like Dubyah and wear his military jackets and hats with "mission accomplished" banners behind him for the boost to his ratings. War sells, it saved Bush and sunk Obama for pulling out.
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
CNN is going to be licking his ass tomorrow morning.
n/a Orange_Menace 2017-04-27
The war hero who forgot he was never actually in a helicopter or shot at or even anywhere near the war zone, yea that asshole on MSNBC will jizz himself again.
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
They're beeeeoooootifal. Fuckin psychopath.
n/a LeakyTrump 2017-04-27
He definitely could be. There is a lot of money and power there. They have the intelligence, the weapons and the money. What more do you need to control the world?
n/a Plz_Pm_Me_Cute_Fish 2017-04-27
McMaster?
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
Yeah, the National Security Advisor.
n/a zenmasterzen3 2017-04-27
Could you be naive and still being catfished by Trump (a blackmailed pedophile)? Seriously you're like those guys who think they're talking to Taylor Swift on twitter and keep rationalising "why won't she talk to me on skype? could it be she has an even bigger surprise planned! Oh my, oh goodie!"
n/a skorponok 2017-04-27
I believe he said 150,00" actually
n/a AIsuicide 2017-04-27
It says 10 to 50 thousand.
n/a drumminger 2017-04-27
What number is that?
n/a YaBoyVolke 2017-04-27
The one after 149,999.

Man, I am a trump supporter, or was, and I dont know what to think anymore.
This guys may have actually lied his way into the Oval Office just like every other politician has. I still have some hope that he comes around, but it seems like everyday he turns his back a little more.
n/a slyburgaler 2017-04-27
"May have" actually lied lol... have you been paying attention at all?
n/a kingcubfan 2017-04-27
That's how I felt about Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears.
n/a zenmasterzen3 2017-04-27
Yep he did. Sucks that he lied pretending he was anti war and pro truth, and in reality just another pedophile blackmailed by the powers that be. We need a process to vet presidential candidates. Like making Tulsi Gabbard declare the Illuminatti are real and give specific policies that would combat them.
n/a snazzopony 2017-04-27
Wait... you're telling me a tv personality with no political experience may have bought/lied his way to presidency??
n/a wile_e_chicken 2017-04-27
Delegates authority he doesn't have. Nice.
n/a StrizzMatik 2017-04-27
Interesting. This is right after Trump just reaffirmed that we had no intention of going into Syria and removing Assad. Flip-flopping again or more strategy?
n/a Pologrounds 2017-04-27
5D Chess...../s
n/a Imurdaddytoo 2017-04-27
I mean, unless the Pentagon actually does something this is pretty worthless news.
n/a hammerertv 2017-04-27

Yeah, the National Security Advisor.
