April 25, 2017 - European Space Agency Reports Purple Gas Ribbon Flowing at 13,000 mph — And It's Not An Aurora?

“Relatively little else is known about the big purple light as yet, but it appears it is not an aurora as it does not stem from the interaction of solar particles with the Earth's magnetic field.” - BBC

Uncreative scientists, apparently mentally exhausted from recently marching, have decided to name the possibly never-before-seen phenomenon "Steve"

Destroying The Illusion has a nice video which could explain phenomenons like these and possibly even crazier stuff to come

I highly recommend watching it, even you don't believe it, you'll have the info, so if the sun shuts down for a couple of hours or minutes you won't be panicking and thinking it's the end of the world. Link to video

That video was really interesting!

He's got a bunch of great content and I'm personally eager for more

Great video! Thanks for the link.

I've started to get into this guy. Really interesting stuff.

It was seen back in 2009 as well. This guy calls them Proton Archs...he gets/misses the reason the thing was named Steve but otherwise interesting.

Charged Aluminum and Lithium?

With the way it's rotating, especially noticeable in the last imgur link, it kind of looks like that vessel's trail that was coming from the sun.
