I start my day by hitting the main page to see if I missed anything good, but spend the rest of my time in new. There's so much garbage to try and weed out.

When I browse by hot it's mostly American politics, I'm Australian and I must say... Its fucking awesome its like Days of our Lives and House of Cards had a baby and that baby was raised by Breaking Bad throw in some nukes, biochemical weapons and weaponised memes and you've got yourself one terrorfying shit show of Globe killing proportions.

Yup, I think we need to move platforms. Reddit has been compromised as a primary platform to discuss new ideas that challenge the narratives that we are given.
I have signed up for Voat, but I fell like it's down fall right now is that it does not have the resources needed to support it, especially when it gets DDoS attacked. If anyone has any information on how we can help support that platform or if there are other alternative please let me know. Thanks!
The way I see it, any platform large enough to reach a significant audience and not become an echo chamber is inherently vulnerable to being compromised.
Agreed, the potential will always be there and if Voat or others follow suit, then we should leave them too. I am saying just like how we should be mindful of what companies we give our resources to and we should try to make a choice to support companies that are ethnically in line with our values, like fair trade, we too as users should be mindful of the traffic we create and curb our browsing habits to reward those that support our stance on censorship.
Oh, I was thinking of "compromised" as meaning destabilized and diverted by those opposed to the organized dissent. In terms of using platforms, services, etc. in alignment with personal ethics, what you said makes a lot more sense.
