To Flat Earthers: The fact that people are dismissing and ridiculing your gross theory doesn't mean it's true. Don't get it twisted.

I'm sure people would be less hostile if there weren't an active campaign to discredit conspiracy theorists going on right now.

Flat earthers are to conspiracy theorists as this guy is to a doctor.

To the Spinning Ballers, just because NASA shows you photoshopped images of the earth, doesn't mean it true. Dont get it twisted.

Why can't I see Polaris from Australia?

Why do the Bolivia Salt Flats go on for miles without a single inch of curvature. If the earth was 25,000 miles in circumfrence there would need to be 8 inches of curvature every eight miles.

This takes place all of the earth.

That doesn't answer my question at all.

Why can't I see Polaris from Australia?

So your whole argument for living on a spinning ball traveling 1,000 mph is that you've heard you can't see the north star from Australia.

How come NASA is given trillions of dollars but can't produce a single photograph of earth?

I'm just curious how flat earthers explain this. I'm not trying to convince you of anything.

So, why don't you answer my question? Whenever I ask it to a flat earther, I never get a proper response.

You know the answer lol

It actually kind of sounds like you're dismissing an entire idea based on a single question.

And the answer is if the north pole is in the middle of the earth with Polaris directly above it, the further you were from the center of the earth, the less visability you would have. So if you were on Australia or any piece of land near Antarctica you would not be able to see it.

What's interesting about Polaris is how every star travel around it while it remains motionless. Despite the earth supposed to be constantly spinning and rotating on its axis.

That's not an explanation. What exactly is the reason? How does being further away make it invisible?

Stars are closer than you think and disappear at the vanishing point of your vision aka the horizon.

What does that mean? Do you have a calculation for that? What's a "vanishing point"?

How does that apply to Polaris? It is above us, so what is the image plane?

go troll someone else with your faux-retardation, it's fucking obvious and this thread got nuked

Thanks for proving my point

you only proved that you don't have even a basic IQ to understand things but you are too stupid to realize it

Just go on. This is hilarious.

also if you were to zoom in on something like a boat that was on the horizon and was beyond the vanishing point to where you couldn't see it with naked eye, if you looked through a telescope and zoomed it would reappear and grow larger and you would see it again ...

in other words, things don't go over a curved horizon and dissapear, descending downwards - they are always there, just simply go past the vanishing point in perspective

The vanishing point refers to parralel lines on an image plane.

How does that refer to Polaris? Polaris is above us.

This explanation makes no sense. Did you come up with it yourself or what is your source?

Please provide proof you can't see it from Australia, because I bet you can't.

I couldn't see it when I was there. Do you have any evidence it's visible?

This retort makes my head boggle

it's too far away

How is that a reason? What happens to the light? Is there a barrier?

If the earth isn't Flat why is the UN flag stolen from flat earth maps?

...any design put on a flag will be flat.

nope

yes

Stop trying to banish topics you don't like. Period.

You have to admit that this topic makes this sub look bad

Oh well in that case, let's make a list of all the topics that make the sub look bad and we'll just start blacklisting them all.

Can someone please find the video of the guy going all the way thru antarctica? This FE talk is getting boring.
