I don't know enough about the situation to say what's really happening in the Philippines, but I don't think ISIS is bounded geographically when they do most of their recruiting online.

These terrorist groups have existed for decades, now they just adopted the latest fad.

The groups fighting in the Philippines have pledge allegiance to ISIS, the news doesn't say they are ISIS.

So I hate to think false flag automatically, because literally everytime something bad happens this sub immediately shouts it no matter the circumstances, but with all the heat duterte has been under, does anyone else think he may have set this up in order to declare martial law?

He's been getting backlash about his killings of drug addicts, as well as a laundry list of other things that are causing his people to turn on him. There's already reports that this isn't actually isis but a local terrorist group trying to stir the pot to get support from isis and other larger terrorist groups.

I'm thinking duterte saw the dissent rising and decided to up the ante to take more power and stop a coup, sort of like erdogan in turkey. Stage a crisis, take more power.
