He's asking why TPTB allow this thing to exist when they've blatantly shown the power and authority to be able shut things down when and how they want to. Because then the user base would gravitate somewhere else. My feeling is:

1- Reddit wants the eyeballs. I know that r/conspiracy is not the only subreddit I frequent. If they shut it down, I'd probably dump Reddit entirely and my brand loyalty would go elsewhere.

2- This keeps us in a "pen" and easy to watch. Also easier to distract, misfocus and disillusion a ton of us all at once via fake conspiracies and nasty comments.

We've been here for more than 9 years. It's one of the longest-running subs on Reddit.

You are on reddit, to make noise (traffic, data put-through,) which in turn makes money for whoever is "allowing"/so "graciously" providing and area for that to happen. You/we are providing a MASSSSIVE amount of (noise) data / intelligence to whoever is in control. (the more, the better, especially with reddit, gotta keep tabs on all of us plebs.)
