Why was /u/TrumpRusConspiracy banned?

What's happening to this place? Stop banning people for speculation you don't like.

The log says they were unbanned.

Why not ask the user? The mods won't tell you which isn't a bad thing.

I can't speak for anyone else, but if I banned someone I would feel compelled to explain myself if asked.

Won't that create an expectation of a justification being given for every mod action? It has got to be busy enough without every decision being called into question.

I can only speak for myself, but I would like to think I would at least attempt to briefly explain anything I do if asked. Any time I do something that isn't explicitly obvious I usually send along a PM to the user explaining my reasoning anyway. Actually have had several pretty decent conversations that way.

Okay, I see you're newest on the mod list so I get it now. Not jaded yet.

Just messing, that's nice to hear. :)

Yes I am. But I like talking to people on here, most of my contribution to reddit has been comments, even people that I don't agree with, and I am older than the average redditor. I doubt I will change much. I will probably regret these comments later haha. But really, I don't think it will ever be exceptionally hard to write a little note explaining myself.

The situation is fucked up.

I don't know. I have my own opinions, but this was not my ban.

I think you're being lied to.

How is that?

It's not fucked up. That guy was full of crap.

Did you see the post about how to use this sub? Which level of the pyramid is saying someone is full of crap?

Because that's how they destroyed /r/Wikileaks. Institute rules for banning people who call people shills, then SHILL THE FUCK OUT OF IT. Bait people to make accusations then turn on the report-bot.

Who banned him? why did you guys ban that nibiru guy?

Why the hell would the mods ban popular users?

These are 2 wildly different subjects.

So what? This is a conversation not an interview.

  1. I don't know if that is public record, if it is then I imagine it is in the public modmail thing I haven't quite worked out yet. If it isn't, then there is a reason they don't and I don't want to break some etiquette as the new guy and make them all mad.

  2. Nbiru was warned a couple time, I believe about R10. It is totally up to the individual mod whether we give 1 or 5 warnings before banning. Fwiw, I love his posts, and if there is a motion to bring him back I would favor that.

  3. I don't know, my understanding is users that generally participate more and contribute are given a little bit more room. But there is a limit, and I do not know the history here.

I know that probably isn't very useful.

They did this kind of purge last time they added new mods and left the new mods to defend Flytape etc

Tbh, I feel like some users have had it coming for awhile. And there has just been great pains taken to keep something like objectivity.

So that makes two new mods who think censorship works

No, I think enforcing rules is necessary. And we have some very toxic users.

The two users in question are not toxic users. They are informative and popular ones. Were they given a warning before being banned?

Some mods are just assholes. I was banned from a sub and when I asked why, I was sent "fuck you". That's it. I think mods should have to take a test for mental competency before they can mod.

That guy was awesome! Your sacrifice will not be in vain.

His name was TrumpRusConspiracy. And he was an American patriot.

[He is already back] (np.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/6diw9w/some_thoughts_on_how_to_use_this_sub/di3bopa/) What is interesting he didn't even get a notice of the ban.

/u/TrumpRusConspiracy did you get any notice?

It sounds like an error.

I got a notice I was banned but was not given a notice when I was unbanned.

I suspect I'm under scrutiny now and on thin ice.

On an unrelated note: Where are the emails send to and from fox news what should of been on the DNC server?

If the email aren't there, then the DNCleaks are missing documents.

Damnit, I was hoping he would stay gone.

:(

You brought it on yourself. You keep pushing MSM talking points and attacking the sub.

I don't attack the sub or users

You keep pushing MSM talking points

The MSM does not have a consistent set of talking points.

Russia Russia Russia!

Almost one year on and there are still no evidence, but that does not seem to be needed by the MSM. It's all anonymous hearsay and unnamed sources.

And apparently Kushner asked to set up communications channels to collude about the election in December 2016. 😂😂😂

You would probably need to ask the mod who did so, that would be /u/sabremesh. Looks like 2 other users were banned at the same time as him.

I caught my first ban, no deleted comment, from that mod. It was on a "pg" thread that he had started. I will admit that I was a little aggressive in my comment(I tend to get a little spazzy and go off in my shit with profanity at times). He was spreading misinformation in his post and I was chiming in when I caught a straight up ban.

/u/sabremesh care to defend yourself?

I guess I should have messaged him after I caught that and seen what the fuck was up. It was on a different account, but only a few weeks ago. I replied back to it with this account because, eff that ban, and it caught no attention. There is seriously something fishy with the mods here.

I guess hes not going to.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that was sending me private messages of support and in this thread.

I was feeling pretty depressed earlier, but some people that I've debated with quite strongly before sent me messages of encouragement and that helped pick me up tremendously.

And to the mods, I'm sorry if I caused any problems and I will strive for to be the model poster on here and try to be as civil as possible.

If there's anything I can do to make myself a more substancsice poster or just improve in general, please let me know.

I may not agree with anything you have to say but I will fight for your right to say it.
