r/MandelaEffect shadowbans comments that mention CERN. This isn't mentioned in the rules.

Gatekeeping.
The sub is also infested by trolls that gaslight users constantly and brigade comments.
Reddit is a disgusting place to try to have a rational conversation about anything.

i have to admit for a sub like ME i would have expected more CERN talk

It's shadowbanned. You literally aren't allowed to say it.
n/a libertyant 2017-05-27
you are correct
n/a BurninEpix 2017-05-27
Holy shit.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
I think it happened this week.

Person used cern 4 days ago here:
https://np.reddit.com/r/MandelaEffect/comments/6ck1v2/jeremy_bernstein_physicist_who_was_named_by_me/
So that thread may of had something to do with it? I don't frequent there so I wouldn't know much else.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
That was my thought as well. It's really strange regardless that instead of making an open rule that everyone can see they just shadowban your comment
n/a Beneficial1 2017-05-27
Why make an open rule you can't say cern, that would be highly suspect. It's suspect either way.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
Exactly
n/a Axana 2017-05-27
People in /r/Retconned have been complaining about the CERN filter over there since the summer of 2016. It's definitely not new. I'm assuming any current mentions of CERN allowed over there had to be manually approved first.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
That makes sense
n/a Chokaholic 2017-05-27
CERN really freaks me out. Maybe I'm too stupid to understand exactly what they're doing, but the conspiracy theorist in me thinks they're up to nefarious endeavours!
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
100% agree
n/a _MADMARIO_ 2017-05-27
Doesn't China have an even bigger particle collider now? Why does everyone only talk about CERN being nefarious if other particle colliders, including bigger beefier ones, exist presumably for the same reason?
n/a Axana 2017-05-27
Nobody ever talks about the Japanese particle accelerator named KEK. If I subscribed to the "Mandela Effect = quantum lab manipulation" theories, then that would be the first place I'd investigate because Meme Magic.
I don't trust CERN one bit, but I believe they are a distraction for the reasons you mentioned. How do we know it's CERN and not some other quantum lab like KEK or Fermilab? How do we know it's CERN and not some top secret military research laboratory? The bottom line is we don't know. And the handful of people on this planet who might have these answers sure as hell aren't going to spill them on Youtube or Reddit.
n/a _MADMARIO_ 2017-05-27
The fact there's a particle collider with the acronym KEK is pretty amusing considering all the KEK memes.

Yeah I agree I never claimed that I know for sure or even that CERN is responsible. I just think it's sketchy how they shadowban it there. Can't have conversations like this...
Although there are some PRETTY strange Occult connections with CERN. And there's some really weird movie/video that they filmed there I remember reading about.
n/a globalism_sux 2017-05-27
Maybe I'm too dumb to understand it, too, but as I can tell, they collide stuff together at extreme speeds to get huge energy. "Weird" stuff happens at extremely high energy, or so they thought. I believe all that happened was they confirmed the somewhat mundane theory of the "Standard model" for particle physics. But I could be wrong, as I suppose they're still using it.
Oh, Tim Berners-Lee invented the internet there, too.
n/a Ducttapehamster 2017-05-27
They're still "confirming" the standard model. As you get up to higher energies for reasons I don't fully understand you're able to see smaller particles interact. I'm talking like quarks and bosons and stuff. But it's basically if you smash an electron into another electron as hard as you can it breaks into it's parts and then you can somehow study those parts. But they exist on like nanosecond time scales so you need super prisice instruments to measure it in addition to the super high energy levels and you need to do it a couple thousand times to get statics out of it. It's really cool but probably doesnt and won't have any effect on anyone's lives besides the people working there. That's just the big accelerators. Almost ever physics lab has a least a little one for some reason or another. You can build on that goes on a table top, NGT did when he was like 16.
n/a Sir_Edmund_Bumblebee 2017-05-27
Stuff like this is always really hard to predict. At one point in time nuclear physics fell under this category, and then the bulk of the 20th century was shaped by nuclear bombs. It's really hard to predict how theoretical physics will ultimately impact every day life.
n/a DonnaGail 2017-05-27
I'm feel the same as you do.
n/a 4ktvs 2017-05-27
I also don't get why this sub seems to hate the Mandela Effect so much. It seems like there is an active government backed effort to troll and gaslight the issue instead of allowing people to have a calm conversation about it.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
Makes you really wonder
n/a Glassclose 2017-05-27
I always turn to the good Book of Revelation.
the Book of Revelation...
n/a Vegsaurus 2017-05-27
Yeah, I was over there a few times in the last couple of weeks and I got made fun of and treated like shit for my ME experiences. I don't see what the point of an ME sub is if people can't post and discuss freely within it.
n/a DwarvenPirate 2017-05-27
Some of these places are subs made to satire what its supposed to be about. Flat earth, for instance.
n/a Vegsaurus 2017-05-27
Ah, well. I was unaware and I suppose that makes sense.
n/a Electric_Socket 2017-05-27
Or they get taken over
n/a Axana 2017-05-27
The tone in /r/MandelaEffect wasn't nearly as negative when I first found it in 2015. The subreddit changed and the moderation grew much more authoritarian in 2016 when the Mandela Effect started gaining more recognition.
n/a DonnaGail 2017-05-27
I go over there from time to time. I've never been made fun of. I'm sorry that happened to you.
n/a mastigia 2017-05-27
Yeah I don't understand that either, and I have definitely noticed the same thing. I mean we can talk about flat earth, but Mandela Effect? No way. Weird shit.
n/a skyboy90 2017-05-27
Where can you talk about flat earth? It's ridiculed everywhere on reddit, even here.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
YouTube lol
n/a Axana 2017-05-27
The Mandela Effect threatens a lot of powerful interests. The Powers That Be have spent decades, even centuries, building a cradle-to-grave control system designed to turn the masses into unaware consumers who don't question much. Having the masses suddenly forced to question everything about reality threatens to undo all of their work. Investing in shill teams and trying to discredit the entire Mandela Effect is peanuts compared to what they stand to lose.
n/a TheWiredWorld 2017-05-27
Because people refuse to seriously consider the actual reality that human infalibility exists. They're really that egocentric to think that, between remembering something wrong, or bring in a shifted dimension that is also occupied by people who haven't shifted yet, and realitynis being rewritten - they actually choose the latter.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
No they don't. At least I don't. I don't buy into any of the spelling related MEs they are all easily explained. But the Dolly one I saw that movie so many times where and had braces. I literally haven't seen the movie where she doesn't have braces other than the YouTube clips. I watched it easily over a dozen times before 2004. Huge Bond fan. Used to play as Jaws in GoldenEye though he was the worst character...
n/a toenailsfetish1 2017-05-27
That's exactly what makes it real for me too and to this day no one has given me a good explanation. Dolly had braces, period. The entire scene makes no sense without it. But why is it different now
n/a allofmyjej 2017-05-27
Anyone that owns older copy if that movie. Are the braces missing there too or just in YouTube?
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
They are missing everywhere. They don't exist.
n/a soyoumadornah 2017-05-27
That sub is horrible and is always shadow banning. They've corrupted offshoot subs as well.
n/a Her_Excellency 2017-05-27
Have you tried messaging a mod from that sub?
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
No because I'll just get banned. They allow the same users to troll non-stop all day
n/a Axana 2017-05-27
Government shills are real and evidence suggests that they're active on Reddit.
I wrote the above in response to the heavyhanded moderation in /r/MandelaEffect. The /r/MandelaEffect moderators responded by subtly threatening me via PM and then banning me from their subreddit.
I strongly recommend /r/Retconned to anyone interested in open Mandela Effect discussion.
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
Yeah I'm on r/Retconned its so much better. That and r/holofractal are my favorite subs to just read stuff

n/a iamnotnotarobot 2017-05-27
MandelaEffect used to be one of my favorite subreddits, but it's become unbearable. A majority of the posts are bickering over minor misspellings, and anyone that posts a good, true ME gets attacked and picked on mercilessly and the mods are incompetent as all hell.
n/a Electric_Socket 2017-05-27
How is CERN related?
n/a JoePesciOfGoneFishin 2017-05-27
Would you mind explaining what this means? I know Mandela effect but what is the CERN connection?
n/a Ducttapehamster 2017-05-27
I would have to imagine that it's because the ME is about parallel universes colliding I think, so CERN and other high energy particle accelerators somehow break into the other universe.
n/a JoePesciOfGoneFishin 2017-05-27
So the idea is that the "false memories" aren't really false but are actually glimpses of an alternate universe where there were some things slightly different, like Mandela dying and Bearanstain Bears spelled Berenstein?
n/a RDS 2017-05-27
Haha, now that's a great conspiracy worth diving into. That one will get reeeeeal deep!
n/a ZeerVreemd 2017-05-27
The r/MandelaEffect is getting better slowly, but it is not quite there yet. r/Retconned is better and yesteray i had placed my thought pad about cern there. I thought is should post it here too after seeing this topic.
I don't think cern is creating the ME, but it might be countering the effect. Or they are making use of the same forces to bend the world into their will.
My thought pad is this:
If i consider that everything is frequency, enery and vibration and the fact that we are all connected.
There are just 2 emotions at work life, fear and love and both have their own frequency and enery.
there are just 2 powers at work, positive and negative, both have their own energy and frequency
there are just 2 spiritual points, male and female, both with...
there are just a few basic building blocks in this world, all with...
there are ca. 20 know mathematical rules to make the whole universe.
the fact that there is a lot changing fast in this world.
the changes and discoveries that are bringing more good things in this world are suppressed while the whole narative of TPTB is only bringing one dark side of the puzzle.
The changes, like the ME, seem to link with changes in frequency energy and vibration and cern is playing with these factors.
Cern is linked to TPTB and TPTB are supressing progress and love and pushing fear and seperation...
Well, i think that TPTH are countering a, for them known penomenen, and are trying to bend it for their own evil plot.
this is in short my thinking pad, i absolutely am not sure i am correct, but there is a lot more evidence to it than i can even begin to write.
I wish you all the best on your own thought journey and i am curious if i some of you are thinking in this direction too.
n/a madeanotheraccount 2017-05-27
Make your own. Something like /r/seriousmandelaeffect 'For serious discussions about the phenomenon.'
n/a popups4life 2017-05-27
ME is just a large group of people who can't admit they're wrong about something. This doesn't explain why the mods would delete anything about CERN, but the Mandella Effect is nothing more than people who don't know how to be wrong about something...
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
Sure. Pack it up everyone.
n/a the_scary_snowman 2017-05-27
I don't get it, CERN should add fuel to their theory?
n/a Gaslightin 2017-05-27
It's definitely strange
n/a Electric_Socket 2017-05-27

n/a Ducttapehamster 2017-05-27
I would have to imagine that it's because the ME is about parallel universes colliding I think, so CERN and other high energy particle accelerators somehow break into the other universe.
