of course, I didn't do it, but if I did I don't remember.

I was just gonna say the same.

Whole lot of "I don't recall" and "I don't know" and "How dare you sir"

remember the Paul Ryan tapes?

it doesn't exist, but if it does it's just a joke.

it's the same thing.

I didn't do it, but if I did I don't recall.

that's so bullshit.

He's all over the place. They're doubling down.

of course, they don't have any other play besides doubling down.

My heart tells me that I didn't trade arms for hostages, but my head tells me I did. :)

I caught that too.

Sessions is being honest about the whole story. What's the problem? They were trying to trap him to make him look like he was a Russian shill but this opening is destroying that entire narrative. Not to mention, America is waking up that the Russian interference into our elections was wholly manufactured by the shadow government.

you know, unless he is lying.

Why do you trust Sessions and not Comey?

why does any one trust him after he gave that BS answer?

El oh el.

Because I know Comey is deep state but I don't have any evidence that Sessions is.

Sessions is now leading the deep state. He's the attorney general.

Do you actually know anything about Jeff Sessions aside from him being on Team Trump right now?

I know a little. I don't see any red flags. He seems like a straight forward guy who wants to do the right thing.

"if it did happen I don't remember" isn't really passing the smell test.

I get it. You don't like Trump means you can't like Sessions.

Maybe he is more in the know about Sessions

Maybe.

You could make the same claim against almost everyone involved in the Clinton email probe. Combetta especially.

Yeah.

But yesterday's session was about Sessions.

That must be why he led the charge into Iraq back in the Bush years.

Yeah, thank god he decided he wants to lead the crusade against that terrible, devil drug marijuana

He just said exactly that, "I could have had a meeting, but if I did I don't remember it."

Thanks for posting.

It's interesting how he tried to mislead about the question that Al Franken asked him during his confirmation hearing.

Yeah. These blokes don't know which way is up.

Contradicting Comey's testimony!

Wat?

Can someone fill me in? testifying against/for who?

For himself. The Senate Intelligence is asking question relating to the Trump Russia investigation and the obstruction of justice investigation.

Thank you. why is it live? it's like a spectacle or like they are putting on a show

In the US the government has at least a nominal responsibility to make as much of its precedings public as possible.

All hearings are live.

ok but i'm so confused - "they" (whoever they are) have claimed that Russa hacked the election. so what is exactly are they debating? Either they did or they didn't and i thought they already claimed that they did? wouldn't THIS come before any claims that Russia hacked the election? Does that make sense?

No one has claimed that Russia hacked the election. Russia has attempted to interfere with the election with possible collusion with members of Trump's campaign. Everyone in the government including the DNI, the house and senate intelligence committee, and Trump's cabinet members have acknowledged that Russia has attempted to interfere with our election.

The investigations that are still ongoing, are investigating to what extent that Russia interfered and who they interacted with and the damage they have done and ways of mitigating future attempts of interference.

Trump's campaign is under investigation by the Special Counsel, FBI, and the House and Senate Intelligence committee.

Jeff Sessions was a major member of Trump's campaign, and has lied about his meetings Russian officials, and is now being questioned about the Trump/Russia investigation and obstruction of justice investigation.

Thank you for explaining..

I was confused because the non-Trump supports that I'm surrounded by have said for the past 6 months that Russia interfered with the election. So if we already know that to be true then why is there even an investigation. I guess I felt like they were saying it as a truth already known.

We know they interfered. That part is not in question. What is being investigated is the extent of that interference and any possible American citizens that may have helped them.

I thought Comey said he had no knowledge of it?

No. He never said that.

Doesn't remember much, does he?

Maybe he does. If he does, he doesn't remember not remembering.

Sessions is trying to filibuster the questions from democrats.

Warmer beating him back.

Oof. Had a long laundry list of complaints about Comey's "job performance",...just admitted he never spoke once to Comey about any of it before firing.

That's so crazy isn't it? I've been fired a few times in my life and I was always spoken to with a warning before it happened.

because it's a lie that no one can prove..

Trump fired him not sessions.

You aren't watching this, I take it?

well, Comey was going to be fired regardless of his involvement, he was involved because it's protocol

He refused himself. Shouldn't that un-involve him?

Session said no, so there's that.

Yes I am watching it.

Trump fired him not sessions.

Didn't Sessions recommend it?

Recommending it isn't doing it.

Ah ok. I see you are partisan.

Whether you recommend it or do it yourself doesn't change the necessity to try to correct performance issues before resorting to termination (or recommendation of termination).

Correct, but immaterial.

I really don't know the facts of this myself, but Sessions was pretty adamant that the deputy attorney general was Comey's direct supervisor.

Considering there's a war in the IC and they were worried who Comey was working for, it seems reasonable. They needed him to be across the country and not expect to be fired so they could raid his office.

"I do not recall talking with a Russian spy. "

Earlier he said he knew nothing about the Russia investigation, didn't really read the news about it... Now he knows about the DNC hack and spreading of information.

honestly, it's like 50% I don't recall and 50% I can't talk about conversation with the president..

jesus..

and the rest is softballs from republicans

Sessions said Comey didn't do his job properly in regards to the Clinton email investigation.

Re investigate her and serve justice.

Looks like the_d is in here spinning.

TD posters are welcome in r/conspiracy.

This isn't a safe space and no one wants it too be.

No one said it needed to be. Keep spinning those tires.

Funnily, the d is a safe space though.

True.

TD is a safe space.

That's why I come here.

I don't need a safe space.

Good to know.

Do you even vape

Yes. For the last four years

Only if you are also critical of your master

I'm critical when warranted.

Kushner is sinister as fuck and the policy on cannabis is a bit shit.

The Russian thing is entirely fabricated bullshit designed to undermine the Democratic process.

Yup, and to undermine justice for SR among others

Except for those who complain about anti-Trumper's here and politics users.

Why not prosecute all crimes instead of just one party?

I'm not sure what you mean?

I believe Trump and Clinton both colluded with russia, until the investigation becomes bipartisan, Russia will continue to detonate the US from within.

I could see that. Any evidence of Clinton's involvement?

They should put these marks up in front of a panel of normies. The republicans throw meatballs and the Dems are too fiery.

Clinton took direct cash payments and donations to her charity from Putin while she was letting him take Ukraine and Syria as SoS; however apparently that was all on the up and up (lol).

I'll just refer to things, but if you google them you'll find the sources (I phrased them that way on purpose).

Podesta and Manafort were literally working for the same people in Ukraine. Remember Victoria Nuland saying "Fuck the EU" while and creating chaos that allowed Russia to invade?

Remember Obama having more flexibility to remove missiles from Europe? Remember pallets of Cash to Iran?

Well, I agree. Let them all burn. If they did something wrong, get them too.

I say forgive and build a new government on the blockchain.

Hey man, whatever makes it work for the little guy.

Biological humans will be mostly extinct by 2100 anyway.

What makes you say that? Seems interesting and something I'd like to read up on. Just finished another Vonnegut book. I'm looking for something.

Thanks. I'll check it out when things wind down tonight.

The first guy to predict it invented the scanner. https://www.amazon.com/Singularity-Near-Humans-Transcend-Biology

"Direct cash payments" source please? Seems preposterous.

http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/apr/26/peter-schweizer/fact-checking-clinton-cash-author-claim-about-bill/

2010 -- Russia, $500,000, Renaissance Capital (Russian finance corporation);

https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-clinton-foundation-state-and-kremlin-connections-1469997195

And there are many other mainstream sources that find their relationship with Russia fishy.

That's Bill Clinton's speaking fees. It doesn't say the payment was made in cash or to Hillary.

You haven't presented any evidence to back up this claim :

Clinton took direct cash payments and donations to her charity from Putin while she was letting him take Ukraine and Syria as SoS;

Bill Clinton's speaking fees are not Hillarys "direct cash payments".

"To her charity"

Clinton took direct cash payments and donations to her charity

How did she become a millionaire?

Are you going to provide evidence of these "direct cash payments" or not?

Clinton took direct cash payments and donations to her charity from Putin while she was letting him take Ukraine and Syria as SoS;

Clinton was SOS from 2008-2012. Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014. I have no idea what you mean about Syria, though I'm guessing you meant Crimea, which also happened in 2014. You're bad at this misinformation game.

"I'd have to rack my brain, but I do not recall"

Funny that.

What a waste of taxpayer money. We've got Wall St banks taking over the Fed, oil companies now running the EPA, and the Saudi's making US foreign policy, but let's talk about 'russian hacking'. The entire controversy is manufactured by corrupt Americans in government.

Man, fuck this guy

I looks like the AG is obstructing.

thank god they're calling him out for not answering these questions about his conversations. the executive privilege excuse is BS bc Trump never asserted it

And the entire conservative media's big claim all this week is that Comey said Trump wasn't under investigation.

I am wondering if this distinction is it was not "a meeting," but he did speak with them.

Dupers delight in full force.

So what's the allegation? Sessions masterminded election theft in a 30 second small talk with the ambassador in a public setting?

That's truly ridiculous.

The allegation is that he was in private VIP room with Trump and Kislayk separate from the time in this photo.

The point this photo proofs is that Sessions keeps saying "I can't recall" even talking to him. Which this photo proves he at least did.

It's not damning evidence, but it's funny how many times he said he can't recall talking to the top Russian spy recruiter, and then we have this photo.

Source for the assertion that Kislayak is a "top" spy recruiter? Even Comey called that out as bullshit.

What will you accept as a source?

Let's see what you've got. CNN doesn't count FYI.

What doesn't count besides CNN?

Just post a source or admit your claim is bull shit. I'm sick of this petty bickering.

That's not by any means definitive proof. The sources supporting the idea seem to conclude he's a spy based on the fact that he's a diplomat and reports back to Russia. Well, no shit. That's the job of a diplomat. At best, there's no definitive proof.

Why am I not surprised this is the response?

Because even you know the claim is unfounded.

It looks like there's a whole bunch of people there...what do they claim happened during that hand shake? Or are they saying he was in the same hotel so the chance was there to meet privately?

Sure. That's possible. He was repeatedly asked about it, and he kept saying "I do not recall" and was trying to imply he never talked to him at all.

I mean, he even said during his hearing that he did not even speak with any Russians. Which is not true.

Prove that is kslyak. Sure doesn't look like his body type.

All you can see is the back of his head top right hand side of the picture. He's a hefty old Ruskie with silver grey hair.

Could have been and most likely was coffee and sandwiches and some idle chit about the meeting everyone had just attended in a private suite afterwards that it would have courteous to ask Kislyak along since he was courteous and interested enough to attend the meeting, not some ongoing plot to set-up the US for a Russian take-over.

He's is the Russian Ambassador, you know and the US actually imports about 14 billion bucks worth of goods from Russia and exports about 5 billion to it every year, sanctions or no sanctions.

Funny. He can't remember a lot of stuff unless the republicans are leading him to the answer they want to hear.

This administration is corrupt. Does that mean the "deep state" isn't? No. These things are not exclusive.

"Non-partisan".

/lol Tom Cotton giving Sessions a pass. WTF!

Thank god its not just me. I can't believe this is real, though it took them awhile to bring up leaks

Tom Cotton going for partison attacks and division.

Am I the only one who thinks this whole thing is a scripted deep state reality show to keep the public distracted from the real issues at hand?

I Think Jeff Sessions, suspects they have damning information on him and why he had to give so many, "I don't recall, I can't answer," replies.

Every Republican soft peddled. Okla's Price went off on Holder, Cotton went off on leakers, at least McCain went off on the idea that Russia is not our good buddy and is a real danger to this nation.

I was going to post the other Republican Senator's pitiful coddling questions but the c-span.org text transcript does not include the Senator's names.

Looks like they want to help Mr. Sessions, our nation's top law enforcement official.

We are so fucked!

For himself. The Senate Intelligence is asking question relating to the Trump Russia investigation and the obstruction of justice investigation.

I thought Comey said he had no knowledge of it?

Let's see what you've got. CNN doesn't count FYI.
