No I do not practice, but I have friends who do. The most I've ever experienced with them is that game "light as a feather stiff as a board". So basically I have zero knowledge to share about their actual practices or beliefs.

You'd be better served by going to a book store, searching online, or if possible going to a store that supplies the necessaries for pagans and witches.

Not really, it's been years since I read up on it. Typically bookstores will carry a decent collection, but online materials are free and many sources are firsthand.

Everyone practices magick in some form or another, its sorcery that you want to look out for.

Nope not even close. In fact it would be closer to the truth to say magick is holy, operating through the bonds of Love and is the work of holy men and women who use faith in God to make miracles happen.

Now this is also not always exclusively and literally true but closer to the alleged truth you just stated.

Look up any source work on magic from the Greco-Egyptian papyri to the European Grimoires to the Occult anthologies of Agrippa and you will see it's all rather religious with an emphasis on the workings of miracles through piety and petitions to God, usually Abrahamic or Christ himself.

Manly P Hall is a good start. A real humanist and good speaker/writer. Tons of Great stuff on yt. A free mason that is considered as somewhat of a whistle blower. The occult means hidden and both light and dark occultists never throw Pearls for swine so to speak. Which is imo why we are in this mess. Currently reading his secret teachings "epos" (It is THICK). basically all occult teachings are light, it is the societies that turn dark and use it for sorcery instead of magic.

Remember that light occult is magic rooted in Love. Dark occult is magic rooted in fear and suffering.

So you could look toward the 'light worker' community, which is not like New Age fabrication of decades past. There are many teaching about how sacred geometry, mantras or crystals can be used to manifest positive outcomes.

An overlooked example of light magicians would be the Essenes of biblical times. Non-polarity consciousness (becoming absolute love) is what allows a 'christed' being to basically be a Jedi Knight.

Here is the real deal: Magic and the Occult is a deep and complex topic and it takes years of study to really understand with comprehension. To actually practice it also takes time, dedication and effort. It's not a matter of reading a book but of reading a whole library and that just for the surface of it. To really understand you must experience it through efforts, actions, reflection, meditation and contemplation.

Finally, try and avoid internet forums for this information at first. While it can be helpful it is full of misinformation and dogma. Quite often people get little bit of information and then profess to have some mastery over the subject when really they just have a few fuzzy ideas. Beware. and beware of your own dogmas and cognitive traps.
