BUT, the human race developed the family structure over how many 10s of 1000s years of development? It's biological based. We aren't going to break that cycle of parent -> child -> sibs -> others. It has kept everyone fed and breathing all this time.

There is a crisis of ego in the west. everyone is entirely narcissistic. The value of community is lost.
Might have something to do with the fact that the people have lost any input on the system of power. You cannot control the system; you are a slave to it. But you can control yourself.
Do you really think the people ever had power over the system outside of some revolutions? And even these often did not change the system much, just the people in power.
It's not gone yet. Take a stand with your own family! I don't care how fucked up it is. You keep loving and do what's right. Trust me, it's being done in other homes. This is the real revolution. It starts in your heart, and then it reproduces in another. And then another. And it will never stop! I promise you love will not fail
More time spent with coworkers than spouses, more cars/planes/interactions with new people than ever, having less kids, decline of morality/Christianity in US, suburbs?, etc. An economist might know.
Just want to point at one thing. Have you noted how the Father Figure is treated in Cartoons?

That's no accident and to me this says a lot.
The father is the first authority figure that we acknowledge during our growth. The father is also the one that teaches us, counsels us, protects us. In ideal/desired conditions of course.
How many of the kids today will listen to their fathers when they learned that "dad is stupid" ? How many kids will trust their fathers when rough times come? Who will they go to for support? Their (also lost) colleagues? Teachers (most of them for than willing to indoctrinate them)? State counselors (also working for TPTB)?
Families are the primary source of values and loyalties of a person, and TPTB don't want that. They want that the State and/or Media to dictate that.
The process started with Marx, that viewed the Family as the base of the Capitalism superstructure, so, for the Capitalism to fall, the base, i.e, the Family, had to be destroyed.
That's why anything that leads to family dissolution is fomented and glamorized: cheating, drugs, abortion, gender ideology, etc..
Tptb know that in family is there is real power, look at how important it is to them. So, they are subverting our ability to create these powerful organisational structures to prevent us competing with them
