Why do people lie about this?

Ian Bremmer states the meeting started "half-way into dinner, and lasted roughly an hour".

The white house official states "the meeting happened during dessert" but did not specify length of meeting.

The white house official also explained that Trump's translator spoke only Japanese due to seating arrangements. Edit: and that everyone was only supplied one translator

Yet...once again, we have this organized media bombardment on this story.

One thing to note about Ian Bremmer...big TPP fan. Lauded it as Obama's greatest victory if it happens.

Well, no shit he did. Eurasia is Bremmer's bailiwick. I wonder how much China was giving him in kickbacks to tout TPP for them.
