This is my farewell to this sub. This sub was my first exposure to Reddit, and used to be full of thought provoking content. What happened? Lately it's nothing but religious doomsday nonsense, anti-science propaganda, and liberals vs conservatives arguing like children. This sub preaches not to trust the media, and then mainstream sources make the front page when it agrees with you? The hypocrisy is mind boggling and you have lost all credibility in my eyes. I'm sure veterans of this sub will agree with me that it is turning to shit. Nowadays this sub just feels like TD 2.0. Quality posts in this sub have become few and far between, and you wonder why this sub is not taken seriously. I stuck around hoping it would get better, but it did not. Why am I posting this instead of just leaving quietly? Because I believe the mission of the sub is good. People need to be skeptical... But there is a fine line between healthy skepticism and outright paranoia that gets crossed often, and I think the community as a whole needs to be aware of that if you ever want to be taken seriously again.

I guess it's about time for theses posts to come again.

Now that's out... I will say this. Ive been here for about 4 years now, and things come and go in wave. If you leave, good luck and watch your 6. Come back in a few months and you'll see things go back to the way it was.

I will say this. If you pick and choose your battles, this sub is a great one. Just ignore most of the politics and understand that a lot of posters are from other subs that didn't get attention in that sub so they come where.

Stopped reading at TD 2.0. People flame Trump in this sub on the daily. People making this claim are either stupid or dont frequent the sub. Go to TD, and post a single piece of proof that would make this sub TD 2.0 without including bots.

I have also been on this sub for quite a while now.

It used to be a place where fringe theories got shared and the occasional "fuck TPTB" posts circle jerked their way to r/all.

People ridiculed, mocked, and brigaded the sub then as they do now.

The only change I've seen is that t_d was created for shitposting ala 4chan's pol, and many of the users have found their way to this sub because the MSM tried to tie Trump to the conspiracy community to discredit him.

This has consequently resulted in more political posts and an acceptance of right-wing views. This sub leaned a bit more anarchist and libertarian IMO before the 2016 election.

You believe in conspiracy theories, but anything to do with God and the Devil is a nonsense? This sub is comprised mainly of objective people with an open mind. Don't close yourself off because you don't like what you see. Contribute to the conversations and ask questions and give your opinion. From the council of many, wars are won. You won't fight for a subreddit, what are you willing to fight for?
