I know one thing; that I know nothing

Socrates is the patron saint of us nihilists.

Patron saint of true scientists and existentialists [among others].

Ex-

a philosophical theory or approach that emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of the will.

Socrates said taught us we know nothing without observation. Also that virtue can be known in the pursuit of what would loosely be defined as good [or good to the individual]

Socrates: 'one develops ethics through maturity, wisdom and love'.

Entirely possible to know and observe these human bonds and relationship benefits.

Existentialists picked up on that and applied a psychological filter:

each individual—not society or religion—is solely responsible for giving meaning to life and living it passionately and sincerely, or "authentically".

Meaning its up to every individual to bring meaning to one's life. States of despair and depression are the realization something needs to change. The absurdity and meaningless of the world exists in the subjective interpretation and in a loss of hope. That can be rectified.

"Know" yourself. Know what makes you happy. Chase it. Find it. Love it. Voila. Getting off the internet and living in the moment is a good first step. Stop and smell the flowers. So-to-speak.

That is positive and uplifting.... but could be wrong. :( I dont know.

Know yourself... realize you are right. Without question.

Pretend the world is cascading, interacting energy fields. Grab the ones that give you a positive feeling. Remember: All communication [words], action, effort, emotion, feelings, etc. All energy. Whatever works. If it doesn't appeal frame it in some way that does.

Friend, when I read things like this, it appeals to me. I have a feeling of wanting it to be true, but there is no proof that it is. I spent my whole life believing in something that turned out to be completely fake and false. I will not make the mistake ever again.

Believing in anything is a pitfall. Believing in yourself is less of one. If something turned out fake and false, work on making something real.

You are a small part of a very large system [the universe] so while the individual may seem insignificant [you are not] - the problems you dwell on rather are. Totally insignificant.

Ok, this is something I actually believe to be true. My problem is Im kind of fucked up so it makes it hard, you know?

Forgive yourself. It's harder than it sounds but it works [and isn't hard at all once you figure it out].

you give good advice.

That's not true.

I dont know if it is or not. ha ha ha ha ha!

lol........

one thing this sub does is totally inflame my nihilism. For obvious reasons I think.

idk, good hombre... I see it more like this:

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

-Aristotle

I wouldn't say I'm a nihilist. I just don't know, but I will entertain all thoughts.

me too. lets drink.

is that at the end of prohibition?

No, it was at my BBQ last weekend...

Browsing 'new' on r/conspiracy

Name checks out

if you're still in the matrix you haven't been red pilled

Hi shareblue. Here's a cookie.

Its all about the pill bottle. Every day you can take a new pill and have a different experience. Some pills may taste the same as old ones, but they all go to benefit your health in the long run. Finish the bottle, see the bigger picture.

Take the blue pill.
