First this picture appeared on twitter showing a Pro-Assad military leader meeting with members of the Syrian Democratic Council which represents the SDF.

This may mean the SDF is now going to reconcile with the Syrian government.

Another report on twitter that has been confirmed is that on July 28th the commander of one of the rebel forces that was being armed and trained by the US coalition at the Al-Tanf base in Syria defected to the Syrian government.

His defection was followed by more defections days later.

This conflicts with what the US told CNN in an article entitled "Russia & Syrian regime seeking to poach US-backed fighters"

This is actually a very informative article about the latest developments in Syria regarding the defection of vetted opposition rebels backed by the US.

There are also rebel groups that have defected because the US ordered them to no longer attack Syrian government forces. When these groups stated they would not comply the US coalition told them to return their weapons.

The groups did not return their weapons and instead went into the desert to fight Assad's forces.

There are more developments occurring that include the HTS and the Southern Front. I'm waiting on confirmation on some of it before I include it.
