Was Charlottesville our Reichstag Fire?

Hasn't that been claimed for Portland and Berkeley and a few other ties this past year?

It clearly hasn't worked. Nothing they've done to stop Trump is stopping him. The stakes are getting pushed higher and higher until they can convince people vote Democrat again. You know, the party who ran on divisive identity politics in 2016, the thing that attracts Nazis/BLM like fruit flies?

I think it is Trump who ran on identity politics, White Identity, specifically.

Voter suppression decided the election along with Trump to gain that "identity," vote. Because there was a nearly equal vote suppression and manipulation of the election in 2012, but the Trump voters stayed home.

Why don't you just tell us what you think.

why?

I don't consider that to be a response, I would call it a dodge.

how is that a dodge? if anything you are dodging my comment. lol.

There was no voter suppression. Minority voters tuned out Hillary Clinton and the DNC alienated part of its base.

Trump never ran on identity politics. Liberals and minorities merely assume that living in a prosperous America with manufacturing jobs and fewer illegal residents excludes them. I wonder where they learned that?

The poor, college students, and minorities have a easier chance going to the polls. Highly urbanized liberal places have more government offices and more services whose purpose is getting their voters to the polls.

Turnout was down because Obama wasn't on the ballot, Hillary was unpopular, Bernie voters were alienated, and the Democrats don't have a message other than "They are racist and it's my turn". Minority voters and young people see through this.

That is the cover story and spin for the election theft and the theft of this nation by some people with deadly intentions for the U.S.A. and most of its people.

What election theft? At some point you must realize you picked a terrible candidate and have no message. Your mistake was thinking black voters cared about Hilary's divine right as much as they did Obama.

We are trading opinions now, I disagree entirely with yours

See. We can all disagree with each other without censorship or violence. I consider this a win for the Internet today.

The commandant is that we love each other, not that we must agree with each other.

Well said.

Nothing is stopping Trump eh?

Well the Congress just voted to stop him removing sanctions of Russia, that's something stopping him.

He blames Democrats for obstructing nominees he hasn't even named yet, so I suppose nothing is stopping him there, even though he'd like to claim here is

They don't care about that. His hardline stance on immigration is already having an effect on the economy. Democrats are terrified that their prospective voter base/demographic shift is being shut out and Republicans are terrified their endless supply of cheap labor & consumers is being shut out.

Russia is a boogeyman the DNC and GOP uses when needed. I don't think Trump really cares about them. It will be the rest of us who must deal with another Cold War and all its lovely costs.

No, it was just some nazi fucks barely above trailer trash level.

That's my point. Are you comfortable letting some tiki torch wielding trailer trash Nazis justify long-lasting changes to our rights? It's even more absurd than Hitler scapegoating the Bolsheviks.

The Nazis have always done this. They made a joke about it in the 'Blues Brothers' nearly 40 years ago.

I'm not comfortable with nazi fuckheads, no.

Are you comfortable with masked men carrying baseball bats?

Depends, do they want to bash in a kid's face for being black?

What if they want to bash a white guys face in for wearing a MAGA hat?

That would make me uncomfortable. Can't help but notice you didn't answer me. Telling.

How am I supposed to answer that? Should I be allowed to dress like a ninja and carry a katana around a public concert because there might be some woman who might be assaulted?

Uh, what?

Anybody can be attacked anywhere. I don't think it's a good idea to carry weapons around, wear armor, wear masks because of that fact. Certainly not at emotional, tense situations populated by college kids pretending to be Nazis, Black Panthers, and Communists.

I don't think it's a good idea to carry weapons around

Sounds like you're anti-2nd amendment. That shit ain't gonna be popular around this sub, lol.

I'm not 2nd-Amendment. I just think it's foolish open carrying a semi-automatic rifle to the grocery store or a poltical rally. A concealed pistol for protection is one thing. Open carrying weapons is asking for trouble.

I like to think we live in a civilized society, not 'The Warriors'.

So you're for the 2nd amendment, but not at public events at your personal discretion.

It is a terrible idea. Especially at a political rally where they knew there would be trouble and high tension. Why do you think the murder rate in the US is so high. It's not the gun, it's people who can't control their tempers with death at their fingertips.

What do you expect from a bunch of children amped up on Red Bull and Sorosbucks? They could have just let these idiots play Nazi and get laughed at but they resorted to terrorism against the 1A.

I see, what do you propose?

Acting like a normal person and not attending rallies where there are going to be Nazis, Black Panthers, Communists, and useless law enforcement agencies that are letting this violence occur. All three groups knew what was going to happen.

So, don't go to protests ever.

Normal people don't hang around with Nazis, Confederates, Black Nationalists, and Communists. Normal people avoid things they know there is going to be trouble.

Protesting taxes or for the whales is normal. Going to a Robert E Lee statue expecting the opening scene of 'Gangs of New York' is not.

Do normal people ever stand up for what they believe in?

Do you believe in Nazism, Communism, Black Supremacy, the Confederacy, and anti-white racism?

Everybody at that rally did one of those things.

Really, every single person was either a nazi, a communist, a black separatist, or a confederate soldier?

That's what the mainstream media told me, besides the black separatist/commie part.

Illinois Nazis. I hate Illinois Nazis.

9/11 was our reichstag fire. Stop acting like having either side of our manipulated bipartisan media foam at the mouth over some localized event is something new all of the sudden.

The patriot act took care of most of the things he mentioned.

Conspiracy was previously a crime.

You can be jailed for just doodling plans. No other players.

No, charlottesville was, in short, not. It may be part of a larger plan which parallells the reichstag fire but this is not enough justification to overpower even our docile, cloistered public. If anything 9/11 was much closer to the case in parallel. We won't get anything even close to what was legislated after 9/11 for instance. The patriot act alone is probably even more dangerous than than the action on free speech taken after the reichstag fire, let alone the global military implications it had.

So no. But, I believe that it could be a part of a broader plan that has the same result as the reichstag fire, in that sense.

9/11 opened the door to this surveillance but I feel the last few months have been far more dangerous. 9/11 united the country. This overreaction to Trump's victory is a slippery slope towards civil war and martial law.

No this happens later.

Many people were murdered, buildings were destroyed, and thousands were arrested that night and the following days. No. This event was not our Reischstag Fire.

They don't have power to do this yet. Just wait. You'll see social media barons further expanding their silencing campaigns. The goal is 2018-2020.

"Just wait" is a popular term when it comes to shit like this.

We already saw it this week. Google firing somebody for an opinion, people dehumanizing him for an opinion, employees of Google threatening violence on Twitter, and YouTube targeting conservative/alternative voices.

The symptoms are all here and they get worse daily.

I see the point in your last two lines. It was kinda scary where the media quickly affiliated one of these two government assests (the white supremacists are govt assets and so is ANTIFA/BLM). The same way TD affiliates Antifa with Hillary however without the media coverage. It seems to me bigger powers were at play in this one and in order to ice the cake, some guy ran over people. What happens in the next month is going to be super interesting and i hope everyone stays safe.

I'm not 2nd-Amendment. I just think it's foolish open carrying a semi-automatic rifle to the grocery store or a poltical rally. A concealed pistol for protection is one thing. Open carrying weapons is asking for trouble.
