Mexico hit with 8.0 magnitude earthquake, is this from the recent solar flare activity?

With all the recent weather activity lately it's been interesting following the various reports and documentation.

Here's some details on the Mexico earthquake.

https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/6yspm7/magnitude_80_earthquake_strikes_off_the_coast_of/

Magnitude: Preliminary magnitude of 8.0, this may increase or decrease as more data becomes available.

Location: 96km SW of Pijijiapan, Mexico. This is offshore and means there is a risk of Tsunami.

Depth: Preliminary depth of 33km. Again, this may change as more information becomes available.

Recently, the sun had some solar flare activity not seen in decades.

Could this be a result?

Also, /u/parsingsol just had an interesting analysis thread recently discussing a upcoming 8.0 earthquake. This was only a day or two ago

What do you guys think?

Is the picture purposely made to look like it has a creepy face?

Looks like transformers blowing, which I would expect during an earthquake.

Was just looking for that post!! Good looks my man. Crazy shit !!

Yes. Solar flares and earthquakes go hand-in-hand. Geomagnetic radiation and solar storms are a pretty well-known cause of earthquakes.

Hence, while I admire ParsingSol's work and dedication, I wasn't too amazed that his earthquake prediction came true when there was an X9 solar flare--one of the largest in a decade or so. A subsequent earthquake in my mind was, "well no shit"-type probability. I do wish him the best in refining his models, though, since that takes brilliance.
