The Orville Transgender Propaganda

Did anyone else happen to catch the Orville on Thursday? Episode 3 focused on Bortus, the Orville's 2nd Officer and his "mate" who want to give their newborn daughter a sex change.

Peter Macon[9] as Lt. Commander Bortus, the second officer aboard the U.S.S. Orville. Bortus is a Moclan, a single-gender species who exhibits a degree of stoic formality. For example, Bortus disapproves of the bridge crew discussing Mercer and Grayson's breakup after Mercer leaves the bridge in the pilot episode.[8] Among the peculiarities of the Moclans are that they only urinate once a year.[8] Moclans reproduce through the laying of eggs, which are incubated for 21 days. Bortus and his partner, Klyden, become parents in the series' second episode, when Bortus incubates and hatches an egg.[11]

spoiler In the end, they decide to give their daughter a sex change because it will fit in better with the rest of Moclan society.

I was so pissed-off.

I was just complimenting the show because the godawful Star Trek Discovery preview was on. I thought Orville was a pretty damn good reboot of Star Trek. And then I got about 5 or 10 minutes into that episode and I was like WTF?!?!? I almost turned it off but decided to see where they were going with it. They seemed to be making sense but in the end, MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.

I turned it off. Not even funny.

This is a direct threat to my white family's long egg-laying tradition.

I'm not even needed here, that's way more savage than anything I could write.

What do you expect from these satanic puppets? They are pushing these appallingly sick and perverse transsick agendas at an increasing rate. Expect to see more.

No they arent

Thats your response? Pretty weak. Can you elaborate on how they are not pushing the satanic trans agenda at an increasing rate?

Easy. Just saw a whole episode AGAINST changing an infants sex.

I asked if you could elaborate on it? That means giving specific reasons or links to articles perhaps supporting your arguement?

Giving a a two sentence with no facts to back up your original one sentence response doesnt hold any weight in a debate.

So can you elaborate on why you think that the creators of orville show are NOT pushing the sicktrans agenda?

Or would you prefer to give a one word answer this time around?

There is nothing to elaborate on. If you cant see or need guidence to see how an episode where EVERYONE ON THE SHIP WAS AGAINST A BABY GETTING A SEX CHANGE is anti trans agenda you are either blind to reality, willfully ignorant, or suffer from mental retardation. I dont mean that as an insult, its just a very simple thing to see.

Nice effort, but you fail to see the truth. The true agenda of these shows

I was pretty pissed too.. after the moclans find out their greatest writer is a female...

They compared giving a child a sex change to circumcision. I'm not really a fan of circumcision either but there is a big difference between the two.

Not really.. in both cases the child's right to choose is abrogated in favour of the parent's or state's opinion on what is right for the child.

The only difference is you consider one to be acceptable but the other not.

How do you think this guy got the show? He's got to follow a few satanic propaganda guidelines. You saw it in the final season of "Community" on Yahoo, too--plot lines and jokes about incest, under-aged sex, etc. Probably what Dan Harmon had to agree to for the final season.

Your username gave me a laugh. So there's that.

The end of the episode was the captain and the first officer disappointed they went through with it...sad music, sad faces...

The whole episode was about the crew members trying to persuade the parents not to go through with it, then they went to trial and argued against doing it too...

And in the end, the State decided what was best for the child. Not the parents.

Yes. Which was fucked up and the characters were disheartened. Btw, one parent wanted it and the other didn't.

Saying the show was "transgender propaganda" is way misleading about this episode though cuz most characters were pretty against it, and not in the typical overly exaggerated "bigoted" way but in a common sense way.

There is a lot of discussion right now about transgender children transitioning. There is now a law in Canada that says if your child wants a sex change when they are a minor and the parents don't allow it, the child can be taken from you. Schools are putting transgender books in school classes and parents can not object. There are lots of reasons why the messaging in this episode is bad.

I agree that the other characters presented reasoned arguments but in the end, the State won out. Bortus's mate said that he was also given the sex change operation when he was a child and he turned out great so what could be wrong about it? The State knows what's best.

That would have made a better thread, imo.

I agree. I guess I hadn't quite worked out what really bothered me about the show.

But who gives a shit what the child wants... right? It never seems to enter your thought process.

Who gives a shit. A child will eat poison if you don't keep an eye on it. They don't have the ability to make those decisions.

Please don't have kids.

What? Did you watch the episode? Everyone on the ship argues AGAINST it. And then are upset when it happens.

Your cool with the end message that the State decided that the sex change happen because it was best for society as a whole regardless of what the parents wanted?

No and neither was anyone on the ship. Hell everyone on the ship thought it was wrong regardless if the parents wanted it or not.

I find it interesting that you care about what the parents want, but never mention what the child wants.

It's almost like you are fine with the parents making such a decision, just not the state.

This has to be the stupidest shit I've ever read on this site.

Actually the whole episode was just poking fun at the whole ridiculousness.

If you think it's propaganda, why not simply turn the TV off? The solution is really that simple.

And in the end, the State decided what was best for the child. Not the parents.
