Delete Google, move to DuckDuckGo
550 2017-10-07 by toxic_banana
Google wants to control information and manipulate search results. I say FUCK them! Boycott the Ministry of Truth. Find an alternative search engine. If we want anything to change we have to create the market for it and to do that, we have to be heard. The boycott is one of our loudest weapons. I'm wielding, and I think you should too.

1 FartOnToast 2017-10-07
I did hear good things about Proton. So much that even Google tried to censor them out of their searches. There was some controversy surrounding that apparently so it seems they're doing something right if they got Google's attention!
1 StankyDankyWank 2017-10-07
Sounds like a honeypot. Hear me out, if i were the CIA and was thinking 5 steps ahead and was in charge of Google I would deliberately publicly attack a proxy puppet company. Thus making the alternative users online switch to a heavily censored search engine.
Plus Proton sounds fucking gay, like HIV positive aids gay

another stupid guy here that would like an answer to this question above. ^
1 TimIsColdInMaine 2017-10-07
Since an official answer hasn't been given get by the original responder, I'll speculate that the China domain is likely hosted in China, one step removed from the .com US domain
1 HangryBuffaloBill 2017-10-07
oh u see, thank you for explaining.
1 vinrokh 2017-10-07
.ch isn't China, it's Switzerland.
.com domains are subject to US Jurisdiction and laws. .ch domains are protected by Swiss privacy laws.
1 PrimalFrog 2017-10-07
ch. not china. Switzerland baby.
1 PeacefullyInsane 2017-10-07
.com easier to access by US officials
.ch harder to access by US officials
Furthermore, Switzerland is one of the most user private countries as far as laws go. This goes back over 100 years with their banks. They are always reluctant to release/give information to foreign officials about those doing business in their country.

1 NONAMEBLANKFACE 2017-10-07

1 lh_counterpoint 2017-10-07
They source from Yandex and Yahoo, according to logos I've seen in the corners of their pages. Often they use a Yahoo version of Google Amp to serve up news articles
You might be thinking of Startpage which is a Google proxy with a similar premise.

Startpage? I don't know who that's owned by
1 IamNotYourBuddy 2017-10-07
Looks like it's owned by a Dutch company.
1 brokenplasticshards 2017-10-07
Correct, it's called startpagina here, and it was the de facto homepage before Google became popular. Like, until 2006 or something, if my memory serves me well.
1 TheCamelTojo 2017-10-07
Start page only forwards your queries to Google so Google can't match your searches to your ip (unless you're using google) and it does the search through ssl so your is can't see it.
It's still Google
1 IamNotYourBuddy 2017-10-07
There aren't many really. Everything you do is looked at regardless by your internet provider. Want to actually drop off the face off the earth use TOR and go to coffee shops and libraries to use their Wi-Fi.
I've come to accept I don't have any real privacy but realize I'm not doing anything to attract attention. I can live with the personalized ads and junk mail.
1 Fluxcapaciti 2017-10-07
That isn't really the problem though as I see it. You're right, 99% of us aren't doing anything that will bring the wrath of the deep state upon us. However, them having all of that info on us DOES allow them to manipulate anyone who later comes into a position of power or influence. How is anyone going to take a stand on important issues in public when they can retroactively assess your entire electronic life? I remember reading somewhere that Obamas entire family was marked for closer sureveillance back when he was a senator....

Intimate vids, pics, conversations as well as access to anyone most deep secrets and private personal beliefs are being produced right now by teens and tweens right now.

1 chokingonlego 2017-10-07
Yeah, it's pretty cool. The only SEO that happens with this is what you implement yourself. I plan to set up a big media/bot server and run scripts siphoning stories, news articles, youtube videos, artwork, etc and hold it on my own hard drives. That way I can access the information whenever I want, as well as stream media from it to my home computer. And potentially even run Kolby with PseudoTV so I can download movies and TV shows, set up my own channels and playlists, and stream them constantly like my own television station.

Hahhahaa so Israel is a Jewish state, shocker
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
How about you blame the people who made Google/Facebook instead of just blaming Jews? Imagine we'd blame a group of people for every single bad thing a person belonging to the group did, we'd have at least World War 5 by now.
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
Because they are jews as well. It's always the jew. Every goddamn time.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
No, it's not. That's like saying every black person is a criminal, every Mexican sells cocaine, every Russian drinks Vodka, etc. Quit with the stupid stereotypes. Also, Google was founded by two people, one of which wasn't a Jew. Apple, far worse than Google, was also founded by a non-Jew. Hitler wasn't a Jew. Stalin wasn't a Jew. I could go on..
But if you wanna really blame someone, blame capitalism and 'Murica, seems like all this shit is coming directly out of their sewers.
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
Are you a jew?
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Yep. Ain't gonna lie about who I am. The question is, why is that a problem?
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
Well no surprise there. Not that I'm surprised, become quite good at spotting you people.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Spotting us? We're not hiding. But you still didn't answer my question: Why is that a problem? We're in a /r/conspiracy subreddit right now, this is a place for freethinkers, so then, let's discuss it like civilised people. I assure you I had nothing to do with Google or Facebook, I'm also an Atheist and a Communist (just in case you believe all Jews are greedy).
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
I do not waste time talking to jews.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Wowser. You're as bad as Jihadists. You've been brainwashed by this shit so much you're actually using Nazi quotes to escape conversation. Sigh...And here I thought I was talking to a person rather than a monkey...
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
Oy vey... can't call him nazi/racist because he doesn't care.... need to call him muh islamist terrorist. JIDF needs to really create new arguments or it'll be like annuda shoah! But I'll still try trow in a bit of muh nazi cards.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Yeah...I don't speak like that. Also, I am not calling you a Nazi because you aren't one. You're a pretender, a wannabe, call it what you will. As far as I'm concerned you're nothing more than an uneducated manchild.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Let me remind you you're literally quoting the propaganda minister. It was his JOB to brainwash idiots like you.
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
No it was his job to educate the world on the jew.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
No, education is handled by the minister of education. Propaganda is handled by the minister of propaganda. The fact that you're confusing education with propaganda shows how brainwashed and stupid you really are.
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
The fact that you're pushing zionist propaganda as the truth is funny.
1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
Where did I push Zionist propaganda exactly? I'm not even a Zionist myself.

1 d3rr 2017-10-07

1 dannyd1999 2017-10-07
What does Zionism have to do with Google or Facebook?
1 d3rr 2017-10-07
Zionism is the public face of the NWO conspiracy theory. Controlling public perception in the US is a Zionist agenda. Our foreign policy is a Zionist agenda. It is bigger than just Israel, it is Rothschild and Soros all of their missions.
1 byte9 2017-10-07
You do know DuckDuckGo directly supports Tor. Odd racism managed to got in there. NameDatabase was a small, relatively unsuccessful social network and he sold it, business 101. If you read the full wiki it states they complied with spam opt outs(so the site wasn't just a dirty operator) and also required minimal information for sign up so even in selling it's not like they had a trove. There is no reason to not consider DuckDuckGo as a viable private search, if they sell then like all things reacess.
1 RamblinRambo3 2017-10-07
Doesn't change anything since most people don't use Tor.
1 byte9 2017-10-07
What is to be changed? I don't see a problem. Their nearly 10yr track record is a good thing. I just mentioned Tor as it's a hat nod to the type of operation they run.

I'm trying to use duckduck but very often researches are not really satisfying and I need to use Google to find what I was looking for
1 TrumpForPrison14 2017-10-07
That's because duckduckgo sucks.. pretty sure everyone has tried other search engines in the past, there's a clear reason Google has won, while other search engines haven't evolved since we last tried them.
I'm upset about the Google search algorithm changes, but not because of not being able to find conspiracy theories, look up second shooter, false flag.. it's all still there.
I'm upset because people uploading original content, videos that haven't been edited.. are hidden under a sea of news stories. That I give zero fucks about.
1 toxic_banana 2017-10-07
Really? I've had pretty good luck I guess. But apparently duckduckgo isn't as objective as I thought. Use the other resources other people have posted on this thread.

1 Todos1881 2017-10-07
Why don't WE THE PEOPLE actually do something? We should be finding ethical developers and all of us should raise millions of dollars to create an uncensored search engine since people are saying DuckduckGo is owned by some Jew who has sold information before.
There is so many people who feel the same way as us that we can virtually start any new product or service we want if we all gave like $5 usd.
1 d3rr 2017-10-07
Ethical developer here currently working on reddit clones. Put me on a list I'm down to help.
1 Todos1881 2017-10-07
We should make a uncensored hybrid between youtube and reddit. A tube site with entire forumd and channels.
The only think you'd need to censor to make it big would be porn and videos of people getting shot in the head lol. Anything else political or controversial is open game. Oh you find a video about Zionism that is offensive to you? Well too fucking bad. People should be able to be their own judge of what appears to be the truth.
1 d3rr 2017-10-07
Not a bad idea, the kids love videos. I wonder if Amazon would allow "hate" videos into their cloud or if they'd ban you. It would be expensive to host but it could be done.
1 Todos1881 2017-10-07
Liveleak is okay but Bestgore is where you want to go for the insane shit. I was just thinking no hardcore gore for the same reasons you wouldn't put hardcore porn on there. I'd want it to appear family friendly. Who's gonna let their 12 year old daughter go on a tube site to check out the latest Taylor Swift video if they know it shows porn? Wouldn't you need that family demographic to actually survive and make the website popular worldwide?
I basically want a YouTube where any conspiracy, political opinion and anything else "controversial" can still be monetized and not be censored.
I'm in IT as well. I think YouTube has an amazing platform. The problem is they're a bunch of propaganda, censoring, anti-liberty scumbags who wish it was 1984.
1 d3rr 2017-10-07
I see, you want to directly compete with YouTube and replace it. That's a noble mission. Maybe with a not for profit corporate structure you could help to guarantee it stays apolitical. I imagine there's YouTube like open source video platforms out there all ready to go, or you could change reddit around and allow on-site uploads and maybe only have a video post type.
1 Todos1881 2017-10-07
There's DTube which is gaining a little traction. I just feel they need change the whole UI and just make it look much better to get this migration started.
Yeah let's both think of some ideas. I think we can definitely find people who would like to help get something up and running. If everybody who feels the same as us donated $5 you could easily launch a really good platform.
1 d3rr 2017-10-07
Nice, it is running on Steem. It looks like it's off to a decent start although yeah the UI like the home page is still a little meh. Hadn't heard of IPFS for file storage, that sounds cool. And playback is smooth!
I will think about this some. Maybe we should be contributing to DTube. If you ever want to get a project together, make a post and I'm sure everyone will come running out of the woodwork to help.
