Where do I start?
9 2017-10-16 by yakuzafilmgeek
I'm very new to this sub but not at all new to the concept of conspiracy theories (false flags, CIA, corruption, etc. etc.).
But, there is a LOT of information to take in here and I'm still very uninformed (and may be misinformed) on very many topics. The fact that I have Asperger Syndrome doesn't help this.
My question is, where do I start in terms of "must-read" information that topics posted about in this sub, and the discussions they spark, will reference, connect to, or expand upon?
I hope this question isn't too vaguely worded or goes against the rules of this sub, and I'm sorry if this is selfish. I'm just looking for a good source of fundamental concepts, stories, documents, etc. to read through. Links to YouTube channels are also welcome.
No matter how big this thread gets I'll read every comment, so anyone who's taken the time to read this, please comment with what you think are the "must-read" topics for someone looking to be a more intellectually responsible member of society. I really just want to start a solid discussion of topics to read through, all consolidated in this thread.
Thank you very much.

I mean what are you here for? Serious question? What brought you here. A lot of people end up here for a lot of different reasons so what are your interest so to speak?

Well, in my time on the internet I've come across countless discussions of conspiracy theories and I've done a great deal of research on certain theories. I recently subscribed to this sub just to have a distinct place and source of info where I can come back to in order ro receive new information and participate in discussion about these types of topics, since I don't have any friends who share an interest in conspiracy theories. To answer your last question- I'm mostly interested in theories that involve the military: classified projects of all kinds that influence or experiment upon the public covertly (MKULTRA etc.), contact with extraterrestrials, false flags, experimental technologies being tested on the public.. That should give you a pretty basic idea of the stuff I'm interested in. Pretty much anything that you can connect to the CIA or United States (or other countries') military, will interest me.

There's a long (12hr) video on Youtube about Bob Lazar and Area 51 that is entertaining, at a minimum.

MKUltra and Operation Northwoods is a good start to get you familiar with how absolutely disgusting the people that run this country are.

It all depends on which flavor of conspiracy you prefer. If you do not know all possible theories on 9/11 that is where i would start. For one of the best overviews:
It is just short of five hours. Take it one hour at a time and take notes.

Thank you. I've looked relatively deeply into 9/11 before but I definitely need to revisit it.

Yeah, the list of confirmed conspiracies is usually a good primer. Just pick a couple that personally interest you and you're set for awhile.

Welcome!
I posted this in another similar thread and it seemed appreciated so I'm posting here also.
Not subjects or resources, but some words of guidance for you.
This rabbit hole can lead to some very dark and frightening places sometimes. It can be enlightening, but also paralysing in ways.
The truth shall set you free, but first it will piss you off.
Go easy, find a comfortable pace, and remember to also 'not' think about this stuff at times. As much dark stuff you read and learn about, spend as much energy on the beautiful and great stuff there is also in this world.
Balance is important in all aspects of life. Its this duality that creates the momentum for change which is the fuel of our universe.

One of the essential readings is the CIA memo found here. It is called, "Concerning Criticism of the Warren Report". This is the memo where the CIA instructs that labeling people conspiracy theorists is a way to combat people who doubt the results of the commission,i.e.,it weaponized the term. Take the time to read the whole memo, because it outlines how the CIA uses articles, book reviews, etc, to control the narrative.

This is the material I recommend the most. It may be too much too soon. The Mystery Babylon is the big important one.

I don't like many youtube conspiracy theorists but The Corbett Report is the most amazing and informative show I have ever seen can't recommend it highly enough. You can also download all his longer shows through podcasts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySnk-f2ThpE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3xgjxJwedA Two of his best right here, and everything he talks about is well sourced
