I'm getting more than a little tired of all the Hollywood actors making claims of being sexually harassed but not saying who, when or how.

Seriously, if you've got something you want to share with the class please do so or shut up. I believe a lot of shit happens but if you are going to go on Twitter, CNN, Facebook or whatever the hell and make some huge public announcement that someone touched your bits than at least have the guts to say who, when and how.
Also...
<hold on a sec - gotta adjust my tinfoil hat>
It's rather convenient to get everyone and their brother talking about this rather than a lot of other things of major importance going on right now.

Yeah I'd feel way better about this distraction if people were actually going to prison for these crimes. It's good in one way that it's being exposed, but if no one names names then nothing changes at all and the predators will just laugh and carry on doing it, and the victims will know that even when it came out in the media, even when it was all anyone talked about for weeks, still NOTHING was done. It's just sick.
Am watching 'An OPen Secret' again, which is about pedophilia in the industry, names several hollywood pedophiles including Bryan Singer. It's out there, but even now no one in the mainstream is demanding justice for these kids, and they know it's still happening and that there are children, right this minute, being abused, sold, passed around like prostitutes and they say nothing and do nothing!
The fact that no one else is being named is very suspicious and does make it seem like a distraction. People are so frightened, it's sad. Same with Las Vegas, all these witnesses who are too frightened to come forward and just say what they saw and provide their video of multiple shooters. What kind of country are we living in?
1 lunardoggo 2017-10-17
Even if they name names if there is no evidence they won't ever see a cell for what they did.
1 RPmatrix 2017-10-17
putting them all in prison won't 'fix' the problems,
they (e.g. Killary and Co) would be best first tried convicted of the crimes they've committed and then left free to face the music and resolve the shit they've caused

Statute of limitations is the reason for the most part.
1 Joe_Sapien 2017-10-17
What is the me too thing? I can't keep up.
1 mousetaco 2017-10-17
People posted MeToo if they or someone they knew was sexually abused. I mostly saw it on FaceBook.
1 Joe_Sapien 2017-10-17
Ah. I'm not on the FB and don't tweet. Thanks.

Lawyer here - what you've said is not exactly accurate.
Statute of limitations means it can no longer be prosecuted. It doesn't mean it cannot be discussed.
Truth is an absolute defense to defamation/slander.
Now more than ever, multiple corroborating victims would make it extremely difficult to attempt to institute a defamation suit.
1 okokok7654 2017-10-17
But what if the truth is only based on the allegation itself with no real evidence to prove it?
I think it's also important to note that defamation suits could be drawn out by the higher ups who have the money to pour into the cases, and bleed the victims dry
1 MASTURBATES_YOUR_DAD 2017-10-17
That's a good point, and why I think multiple people coming forward would be beneficial.
As to your second point, I 100% agree. On an individual level, these are usually in the favor of the more powerful person with more resources.
But right now is a rare opportunity to take advantage of a public that is not only outraged and paying attention, but that also has been fed an incredible amount of moralizing from the corporate and Hollywood class.
The public loves watching hypocrites get their comeuppance. I think now is a unique opportunity that I hope people seize.
1 RPmatrix 2017-10-17
then it can't be The Truth ... it's still just an allegation
1 MASTURBATES_YOUR_DAD 2017-10-17
Few days late but this is a really really good point.
1 RPmatrix 2017-10-17
thanks .... but it saddens me to think it's not OBVIOUS to the masses!
The Truth has a characteristic which clearly defines it;
e.g. The Truth is true, it cannot change.
ergo sum: "allegations" cannot be "True" as they can change
it may seem I'm splitting hairs BUT No, words are powerful and have clear meanings when used correctly and there is NO way an 'allegation' can be "the Truth" ... that's why it's an "allegation" and not 'true'
1 bigkids 2017-10-17
Looks like they are doing it to get more famous and are not really whistleblowing anything. It's actually more confusing to follow now that there are so many "coming outs" LoL!
Well played! And as always, when something really crazy happens in public, something really crazier happens in private.
1 grivent 2017-10-17
You're opening yourself up for slander/libel if you accuse people of things you can't prove, like a sexual assault in years past.
1 jasenlee 2017-10-17
There have been more than enough cases of people coming out against prominent individuals years later and not having to deal with some legal BS. Bill Clinton and Bill Cosby come to mind right away.
Why say anything at all if you are not going to back it up. I might as well Tweet something next saying some mysterious Hollywood producer raped me 15 years ago. I'm not saying I don't believe a lot of these people but I'm stuck with two major thoughts.
1) Why the vague announcements?
2) Why in the hell didn't you say something earlier.
And on the #2 there. I don't accept the old "well it would have affected my career bit". Still not cool. As someone who has been sexually assaulted I reported that shit straight away because I knew if it was happening to me it was happening to someone else so I needed to help stop the predator. I'd go as far to say that some of them, victims themselves, have only made the problem worse and have blood on their hands because they cared more about walking down a red carpet than protecting their own dignity and that of others.

Because women who speak up obviously NEVER any experience any backlash or cruelty or ‘punishment’. In a different world, sure it would be excellent if women felt safe letting authorities know when things like this happen.
In reality they’re told to keep it quiet, that they’ll cause trouble if they pursue anything, and even lose their jobs or opportunities for speaking up. Happens all the time — yes, even in 2017.
It’s not your choice how a woman chooses to handle these situations. Sexual assault and even run-of-the-mill sexual harassment can be extremely stressful, isolating, hurtful/damaging, and even shameful to those who experience it.
My concern is that all this mock-outrage is really based more on ‘I don’t believe them, since they’re not naming names,’ instead of any real worry about other victims. If you were that concerned you’d have empathy for the pain those who are speaking up have gone through over the years.
1 KarmicEnigma 2017-10-17
Because the "vague announcements" aren't necessarily about taking anyone down. In order to take someone down, you must first have the courage to stand up and do so - and it sure as hell isn't easy nor are the odds in the victims favor (watch what happens with Weinstein - and no woman will be a bit surprised).
Mostly, it's about speaking up to let people know it's happening. In massive numbers. And not just to "those girls" - but to women the masses wouldn't think "asked for it".
Lastly, it's providing strength in numbers.
1 jbeamdream 2017-10-17
Well, and with the #MeToo bullshit, its really starting to pull the public into this shit. That makes it an even bigger distraction since the people who DONT give a shit about the paid liars, do get caught up posts by people that they know.
1 tvcolosi 2017-10-17
MeToo. Get it?
1 DonnaGail 2017-10-17
I'm tired of people waiting YEARS before speaking out.
1 lunardoggo 2017-10-17
I mean it's a tough thing to deal with. And I've seen people speak out and get so much blow back and no justice.
1 DonnaGail 2017-10-17
Well, I was taught to always speak out about something like that. I don't care who does it and what is at stake. If you keep quiet (for the sake of your career), then I have no sympathy.
1 KarmicEnigma 2017-10-17
That is SO much easier said than done. Especially if speaking out will blow up your life. Odds are not in the victims favor on this issue.
1 Gromyer 2017-10-17
I'm tired of people being sexually abused an harassed. It's a hard knock life.
1 DonnaGail 2017-10-17
I'm tired of women being so stupid that they go to a man's private hotel room for a business meeting.
1 KarmicEnigma 2017-10-17
Seriously? I'm not even in Hollywood, and I've been away on business and had plenty of business meetings in private hotel rooms.
Guess that means the women were stupid and deserved it? Come on now.
1 Drewcifer419 2017-10-17
They're just, literally, attention seeking whores. Nothing will come of this, Weinstein will be the only hollywood mogul to take a fall. That whole industry needs to be scrubbed. If Terry fucking Crews isn't naming names, none of them will.
1 sceneredacted 2017-10-17
Weintstein and the Amazon dude look like the only ones that will go down. They're the sacrifices. The rest will continue on.
1 KarmicEnigma 2017-10-17
Amazon dude? I missed the memo on that?

The abused often evolve to be the abusers.
1 Space__Stuff 2017-10-17
Probably afraid of disappearing or "committing suicide.
1 majinethan 2017-10-17
You dont know how hard it is to come out about shit like that.
1 jasenlee 2017-10-17
Actually, I do. I might not be a famous celebrity but I mentioned in another comment my own sexual assault and how it made me feel. I don't expect you to read every comment because I never do but I know it's hard. I made the choice to do the right thing not just for myself but others as well because I knew if I was being abused others were too.
1 tygorn 2017-10-17
Pretty sure rape and sexual assault are serious issues...
1 KarmicEnigma 2017-10-17
Some of the comments in this thread (and ones similar) are mind blowing. Then again, I'm not sure why victim blaming is still shocking to me. Jeezus christ people.
1 jizmak11 2017-10-17
I feel like some of them are using this as free publicity...pretty sick.
1 QnsConcrete 2017-10-17
I hate celebrities. Can they all just shut up?
1 swordofdamocles42 2017-10-17
hmmm now if you owned a few hundred actors and actresses and lots of magazines... do you think you could change the public perception to whatever you want?
hollywood is all smoke and mirrors.....
1 LupusRexVidar 2017-10-17
Hollywood is run by Eskimo's
The Eskimo's holy book says this: A maiden ages three years and one day may be acquired in marriage by coition-Sanhadrian 55b.
Is it any surprise that Pedophilia runs rampented when you have Eskimo's running the show?
1 RPmatrix 2017-10-17
gotta agree
talk about jumping on the publicity bandwagon
1 JusticeForScalia 2017-10-17
They are putting it out there to see if their "abusers" offer hush money. It's a money grab
1 Banished377 2017-10-17
Those bitches sucked cock for fame, wealth and film roles.
The only Coersion was in their own minds; "Should I or shouldnt I ?"
As they all enjoyed great careers for 20 years, the answer was clearly "I should". It was their choice.
Typical leftard hypocrites.

1 reini_urban 2017-10-17
There actually is a secret list (i.e. Google spreadsheet) making it's rounds internally, with names and all. "SHITTY MEDIA MEN" https://www.buzzfeed.com/doree/what-to-do-with-shitty-media-men
So they are at it.
1 my-other-name 2017-10-17
If they bite the hand that feeds, they they won't get fed.
1 schlamboozle 2017-10-17
It sure does make a lot of distraction with Vegas, Equifax/IRS, Awan scandal, Uranium scandal, and anything else I've missed. It also seems like it distracts from the pedophilia stuff because most of this is adult sexual assault or essentially prostitution for Hollywood positions. I feel it also belittles victims that haven't been heavily compensated.
