Woke music artists
4 2017-10-27 by randokatrando
I wanted to create a topic something other then trump, Clinton, vegas and while they are great topics of conspiracy, I am curious if people here listen to music by artists that are 'woke' and aren't afraid to speak their mind on their songs. Personally I've learnt bits and pieces from listening to artists so could anyone recommend any? Independent artists I listen to regularly are hopsin, immortal technique, lupe fiasco and Vinnie paz. Cheers!

Napalm Death

I've seen Napalm Death. Good stuff. Saw them at a metal festival in Louisville circa 2002. Again, good stuff there.

Krino, immortal technique, and cannabis are the 3 most woke in that order. Krino has dozens of anti cabal hip hop songs.

You know, I do not care for hip hop or rap, as far as genre's are concerned. But, they have my respect due to the fact so much of the lyrics are simply woke as fuck in gems like you suggested.

Killer Mike was mentioned in an email to Podesta so he made a t-shirt. Also Run the Jewelsis pretty good its Killer Mike and EL-P.

They are either dead or soon to be
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Kurt Cobain, Tupac, Michael Jackson were very woke and were hated by the general public
1 tresst 2017-10-27
You just mentioned three of the most beloved musicians of all time.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
They were beloved AFTER they died or beginning of their careers. These three have called out the illuminati and paparazzis have made them out to be horrible
Tupac= lowlife gangster Kurt Cobain= Druggie Michael Jackson= child molester, freak, wannabe white

Dude, how old are you? They were all MASSIVE successes before they died. Thriller and Nevermind sold ungodly amounts of units.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Dude like I said those were beginnings of their careers. Watch when they exposed the illuminati( MJ mid 90s and Cobain early 90s) that the public shift of them went downwards
1 tresst 2017-10-27
When did Cobain "expose the illuminati"?
Nirvana sold millions and sold out every show up until their last tour. They were going to headline Lollapalooza 1994 that summer.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Dude watch this video until 2:53 https://youtu.be/NOeEMFfeunE
Yes they have sold millions and so did MJ. That doesn't mean they were apart of the illuminati
1 tresst 2017-10-27
Yeah I'm not watching some goober ass YouTube. If you can't plainly explain how he "exposed the illuminati" yourself, then you don't have a point.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Ugh fucking hell man. You really think Cobain is apart of that system? Come on, look at these lyrics http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/nirvana/onaplain112604.html
1 tresst 2017-10-27
Did I stutter? I said that was never my point.
Cobain didn't care about "the illuminati" dude. What does "On a Plain" have to do with anything? Are you high?
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Then wtf are you arguing about bro? Those lyrics are very deep and showed he wasn't happy with the industry. But since we won't reach an agreement I'll just say their isn't sufficient evidence as of yet. Good night
1 tresst 2017-10-27
Yeah, that's not "he exposed the illuminati"
He was unhappy with everything, he had depression and was a heroin addict.
1 Thinkingfellersunion 2017-10-27
The beginning of Kurt Cobain's musical career is pure genius. Bleach is the gloriously mutated bastard child of sludge-indie-shoegaze... which ultimately defined grunge culture.
1 irwin_normal 2017-10-27
Sorry bud. All of those mentioned were hugely successful. Obscenely fucking successful....
And absolutely beloved by millions.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
So because they were successful they weren't woke? You realize they died in the hands of illuminati?
1 irwin_normal 2017-10-27
Tupac was a sharp guy
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
He was, I always liked him better than biggie
1 JudasKennedy 2017-10-27
The public loved these artists, and not just after they died or found their initial success. I would also argue further that these artists did little to nothing to show they were ‘woke’. All three died under mysterious circumstances for sure.
Kurt Cobain was in the biggest rock band at the time, His lyrics never addressed any social issues or concerns, he sang about being sad all the time. He was a druggie- no one painted this image on him to discredit him- he liked shooting heroin. His suicide is highly questionable and mysterious.
Tupac did have some thought provoking lyrics early in his career, but he quickly changed all that as his popularity grew. He signed with Deathrow Records and became the gangsta, choosing to promote violence in the street over reading in school. He died having sold over a half million copies of the first ever double rap album- hardly hated. His murderer was never found.
Michael Jackson was famous since he was six years old. His album sales declined over the years yes, but he had just sold out 50 dates in a row in a single venue. Thousands of people from all over the world were planning to see him live. His death, and entire life are the strangest of the three.
I’m surprised someone who represents themselves online as ‘openurfuckingeyes’ suggests perhaps three of the biggest corporate money makers as examples here. They did nothing to rock the boat of success, and were probably killed out of greed and not some attempt to silence them by the deep state.
1 openurfuckingeyes 2017-10-27
Hm I guess you are right. I've always thought of them as different since I was younger and killed because they thought differently then their peers in music. Why would someone kill them out of greed?

Publishing rights to their music, They’ve sold many many albums after their deaths.

If you're looking for a bit more comedy, you could always check out Trevor Moore and his song "Kitty History". It's mostly about JFK, i promise.

Anyone heard of The Mountain Goats? Stumbled on them a few months back and thought they were just a vanilla indie band and wrote them off pretty quick. Then I listened closer to some of the lyrics. Seems like there's some real shit in there.
1 Thinkingfellersunion 2017-10-27
I just listened to a few of their songs. As a 80's-90's indie rocker, gotta say I loathe their sound. But, I read the lyrics and they're not half bad.
1 fire_in_our_throats 2017-10-27
Yeah, I'm not really keen on the music myself.
1 Thinkingfellersunion 2017-10-27
If you like indie, I may have a few suggestions...
The Wedding Present - The Queen of Outer Space
Slowdive - Crazy For You
DEVO - The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise
Sebadoh - Just Gimme Indie Rock
Pretty good mix of my experience with indie. I gots more if ya want.
1 fire_in_our_throats 2017-10-27
I love me some DEVO. I'm more of a metalhead to be honest.

Melvins - Houdini
@ 16:48 - Honey Bucket is one of my favorite tracks. But, the tracks segway really well together on this whole album. One of those you can let rip and not skip.

The Melvins are legit
1 trjb 2017-10-27
Really enjoy that band but yeah the lo-fi stuff might not be for everyone.
I think john darnielle is one of the best songwriters alive.

I can't tell, is BoB legit woke or is he a limited hang out controlled opposition type deal? He's pushing truths but is also very invested in Flat earth...

*Motorhead - a la 1916, March or Die, Eat the Rich, etc *Moonspell - I like to think they're calling out all the satanic shit in the system, but they could just be down with it. *Anciients *Ihsahn *That 1 Guy - listen to Buttmachine closely. Not even kidding, this guy has his eyes wide open *Mike Patton *Red Fang *Neurosis *VAST *Megadeth - used to be. Dunno about lately *Jesu

Muse's last tour was almost completely music about hot conspiracy topics including video projections of JFK talking about secret societies. Most of their lyrics address conspiracy laden topics.
Really well done & Matt is a very good musical guitarist as well.

"Woke" - a self marginalizing millennial internet hipster term that immediately places you in a pigeon hole.
Let's talk like adults about these serious matters.

No one's mentioned Roger Waters yet.

Someone mentioned this on the Corbett report recently. Nice pick.

Oh shit, I forgot all about Killing Joke. If you like the 80's post-punk/new wave sound, they're great.
