A void. The abyss. Dig a hole and where the dirt was is nothing. But there is still a hole. The void of nothingness is a measurable space that can be abstracted. Noting actually is quantifiable.
Cold isn't a force opposed to heat in the same way evil isn't a force opposed to good. Rather coldness is just a lack of heat and evil a lack of good. Not a diametrically opposed force.
Something cold still contains some heat. There is a wide spectrum of temperature. Something cold might be much warmer than something else that is much colder. So cold is not just a lack of heat. Also.. evil is not lack of good. Good and evil are subjectively interchangeable depending on who you ask. Don't mind me I'm just drinking about being argumentative heh.
All good but i don't share your view that morality is subjective. As a thiest/Catholic i hold God as the morally objective, immutable truth and our own moral conscious stems from that (though of course can be corrupted) most of the world holds similar ideas of justice; hence most would condemn murder, theft or otherwise and is generally agreed as wrong.
I respect your theistic view point. Generally agreed upon does not mean absolutely/universally agreed upon. Morality is not a democracy. As a firm atheist, I believe morality to be subjectively found within yourself and you alone. You may share extraordinary similar moral values as the culture you were brought up with but in the end you still are an individual who has his/her freedom of will. Others who come from cultures in stark difference to your own will hold possibly similar but different moral values. This similarity does not make them the same because they can be vaguely agreed upon by all. It just means that even though we might have grown up in different cultures we all still share a common heritage of society.
I edited my comment slightly. Nihilists aren't a group. It's a philosophical doctrine. Friedrich Nietzsche is a great place to start studying if you want to know more about it. It's not a good thing, but its something that takes its course naturally in many people. Often times after somebody graduates from a life servitude of false faiths.
This is part of the process of awakening and you'll get to the next point soon. At least it did for me -- I was asking the very same question not too long ago. Only you decide your path so it's pointless to try and explain. Granted that last sentence is cleverly worded.

Nothing is still something.
1 jamesscoob 2017-11-27
Yeah then what is nothing?

Isn't nothingness also called a vaccum?
1 RMFN 2017-11-27
In some cases.
1 Irishconspiracy 2017-11-27
Open to debate no? Things can exist within a void. But nothing can exist within nothing
1 RMFN 2017-11-27
It's still something.
1 mindboglin 2017-11-27
Surely nothing is the absence of something.
1 RMFN 2017-11-27
Exactly. It's there.

I mean not entirely true.

Cold is just a lack of heat. At least that’s how it’s explained by modern science.

Just a joke from a silly Jaden Smith quote.
Have you heard of Simulation Theory?
1 jamesscoob 2017-11-27
Yeah I heard and researched about it.. Maybe it's true but who knows...
1 jamesscoob 2017-11-27
What do we call the things happening to us right now then? Tetrahedrons type of stuff?
1 prolix 2017-11-27
Nihilism is a stepping stone from from faith based reasoning including faith in the system and religion.

Sometimes I ask myself the same question .... At other times, I ask "Is math related to science?"
1 jamesscoob 2017-11-27
Or maybe math is science we just don't see it that way right?
1 CrotchFungus 2017-11-27
I mean you are experiencing something right now so something is definitely real

1 jamesscoob 2017-11-27
Then what happened next?
1 shit_username_taken 2017-11-27
Everything is real, even fake news/products are real.... however not everything is true.
In fact most of what we are taught in school is a lie. Specifically history (Holocaust, WWII, Oswald killing jfk etc) and to a lesser extent science.
