It's possible, criminal elements could traffic the girls, but, no, chinese culture would never allow kids to be sacrifaced. It's a Buddhist thing. Even the gangsters have their own code. Sorry, this lead is a dud.

From what I've heard, if born girl, some would abandon them in the streets, leave them in the woods to die, maybe even kill them outright. But these are the fringes of the society and mostly superstitious.

I don't. But I lived in the US most of my life and I never not-in-a-thousand-years would have expected that Satanic shit would be possible. And I'm friends with many Chinese folks -- they drink, they do drugs, they go to strip clubs, some visit prostitutes... They're not some beacon of goodness and light -- certainly not restricted by Buddhism. I don't even know why you would say that.
