an idea for r/conspiracy what if we use the 'save' button to save the best content we come cross, and then one a week we start a thread where we all post links to the items we have saved. kinda like a TLDR, or 'in case you missed it' submission

220  2017-12-22 by EnoughNoLibsSpam

you can find your saved items by clicking your own username and then clicking on the 'saved' tab in on the right.

use [window key + "+" or "-" keys] to adjust window viewing size, as the 'saved' tab might be hidden behind your username under certain settings

I predict a LOT of pizzagate and Uranium One, Clinton and Benghazi content. And MAGA.

Just a hunch.

Pizzagate theories can get interesting as you explore the occult side of things. I want more occult conspiracies, alternate history, secret societies, esoteric knowledge and hermeticism. I almost always save that stuff so I guess that's at least how I'd mostly participate.

put it up!

just really to this comment with a link or 3

Here's a couple links I've saved from this week that I found really interesting to read about. I'm a comments guy, so while the post may address one perspective I relish the broader conversations that open up in the comments.

Great idea. I feel there are some great posts that should be revisited.

Yeah kinda like --moose-- did and reddit killed any trace of it. He/she had a huge archive at one point.

But I mostly just save porn.

that would be helpful too, depending on the sub reddit

Well in case you were wondering, This is the last thing I saved NSFW .

NSFW

fun fact: at one time /r/penis existed, but /r/vagina did not exist

so i took it upon myself to fix this problem, although my username has been removed from the mod team list

i personally put the side bar links to those other subs dedicated to human anatomy

All of the different porn subs are hidden and can't be found in the sub search. I find that scrolling r/all rising can lead me to interesting places. Yet what a really need is a Super thread that lists everything.

So hurry up and make a sub for finding more porn subs.

[Not that I look at a lot of porn, I'm asking for a friend]

I already do that personally.

Reddit comes at you fast

My original account is 11 years old - I only use it now to save stories. If anyone would like me to, I can do a big post of interesting links over the years.

Yes please.

yes please, this would be very interesting.

Great idea. Let’s do it!

Sounds similar to those r/trees infographics where they list everything that has happened in the news on one picture ya know?

im not familiar with this. examples please?

Could you imagine the terabytes of connecting information we would have within a couple months?

I'm getting alzheimers just thinking about it.

when social media first became popular and everyone was buzzing about it, there was this excitement about "crowd sourcing" where platforms were able to harness the collective brainpower of masses of people to answer questions like

"where to get the best pizza in NYC"

or

"what should i do when i visit Austin Texas?"

but these are trivial examples, because the collective brainpower of the masses can be used to answer much more important questions like

"what causes Autism?"

or

"how can i cure Cancer?"

you mention Alzheimers, but did you know that its claimed that Alzheimers is caused by vaccines and/or Lyme disease?

Lyme docu trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxWgS0XLVqw

Lyme and Alzheimers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCLwauRh2gQ

Agreed.

To be honest, my comment was based on the fact that I FEEL (from personal exposure to the disease and those affected) - that SOME alzheimers MAY be caused by knowing, literally, too much.

As if the filing cabinets are full and so things are exploding out the edges or getting lost...

Just a person opinion...

yes i heard once that old people take longer to think of what to say because they have so much inside their brains.

Definitely not what I said.

id be happy to reconsider your reiteration

Altzheimers may be a disease related to "overloading" the brain with too many facts/details/etc?

I don't really... see what the issue is?

A week in review.

this OP got a lot more positive attention than i had expected. will let it sit for 24 hours or more, and then make the actual post, and hopefully people in this thread will participate in that thread too

I could see this being easily controlled. Best thing to do is to check /new/ at different times everyday. that's the only way you'll get an accurate picture of the current state of the sub.

i agree that its important to check new, but even then there are fare more "new" submissions than there are front page. so what happens when you find something good at new, but then it doesn't get to the front page, and gets memory holed with the rest of it? thats what this OP is about. bringing those gems back to life

def something to look into for the new year...

I've got a lot of porn saved if you guys are interested.

hey you laugh but we've been kicking around this idea for a while...

theres a radio station that is local owned, and they play new music, usually metal, which imho pitches to a slightly more intelligent audience... but when they go to commercial break they do like "stupid news of the day" which features something like a guy getting drunk and driving his truck into a trailer house or something trashy and red-neck-ish, and irrelevant to the lives of most people.

the news segments are so bad that it almost makes me not want to listen to that station. but the music is usually good. imo, if this station would play the same music, but instead of stupid news, they would read the top headlines from /r/conspiracy, it would be most excellent. good music, good info.

so, what if we apply this idea to making porn?

instead of having some cheesy plot where a pizza man gets invited inside for sex

you start out with a couple sitting there talking about WTC 7 and showing clips etc

and then theres some innuendo like "ill go down on you like building 7" and then they proceed to have sex.

this format could be used for any conspiracy topic you wanted to talk about. maybe have it like a strip poker thing where the people are slowly getting undressed, to keep the audience interested.

Mods please do

Excellent idea!

Love it! Like a weekly round up.

all of the best comments in this thread are down voted to the bottom. does this sound like the behavior of sincere /r/conspiracy subscribers, or the behavior of those trying to destroy our forum?

I love the idea.

There should definitely be a best-of weekly (or monthly) sticky thread. Especially (or only?) for self posts, as they are more unique creations and have deeper value than simply links (although even good links can have great value, especially if the comment section is interesting).

I feel like the shit posters would take this idea and run with it, then all the shit posters upvote the shit, and we are right back where we started.

i see your point, but we can't let them dictate what we will do. we could make the same argument for why we don't make any new submissions at all... because the trolls would forum slide it with their own shit posts. i think its worth a shot. we can harness our collective brain power in yet another way, by doing this

Last night I found myself perusing Michael Hastings reddit account and it occurred to me how interesting it would be to see his saved folder. I wish saved stories were public, especially in this regard.

were you able to glean any insights from his comments, or liked, or disliked etc ?

When someone you are arguing with says "flat earth", respond with:

"The earth is round. 9/11 was an inside job."

Watch them loose their shit and become the conspiracy theorist.

but 9/11 wasn't an inside job

9/11 was an outside job

https://www.veteransnewsnow.com/2014/08/31/the-911-triple-cross/

let me explain the semantic difference

in the movie Loose Change, we are left with the impression that the US government was responsible for 9/11, which is as convenient for the real perps as any other false-flag cover-story, because as long as you blame the US government, you are pretty much helpless to do anything about it. what are you going to do? call the Pentagon and complain that they should have defended the Pentagon better on 9/11/2001? are you gonna call the FBI to complain about the FBI's handling of the Anthrax letter's coverup?

no, you will just sit there like a deer in headlights, not knowing what to do or where to go

in the meanwhile, the real perps are getting away with 9/11, while you are looking in the wrong direction

It was a job aided by the office of the President. Therefor it was an inside job.

All conspirators need to be brought to justice.

i agree that there were people on the inside, but the whole project was conceived by people with interests outside of the US

personally, I'm leaning toward Mossad, and their lapdogs in the CIA

Feel like we need a conspiracy almanac or wiki. There’s so much good info not just in the posts but comments and from certain users too. Or the very least have the sidebar list trending conspiracies and aggregate top posts about them.

yes its a shame how much good info gets posted in the comments, yet not getting the exposure it deserves. you can also save good comments with the save feature, and re-post links to those comments in the weekly round-up

Maybe we could ranked "saved" posts and comments too?

these threads would also give other users another change to save these items themselves, possibly to be re-posted later. it a feature that we can exploit more effectively, if we make it past next Tuesday, which is armageddon according to one user who directed a comment at me
