Given the time frame (and social order) involved in the beginning of both societies, i would imagine the original illuminatists were probably involved in masonic lodges too.
The masons have different degrees for their lodges, and you need to be a 33rd degree mason before they start telling you the secrets. My grandfather was only a 32 degree, so I don't believe he knew the truth about the organization. Whoever your relative is is also probably just a 32 degree.
I think the story is the founding fathers who were masons used the illuminati story to get people on board with the revolution...whether it was fact or a psyop is up for debate.
Many members of the Illuminati were masons, including Adam Weisshaupt. Most Masons definitely consider themselves "illuminated". Lodges were supposedly used to solicit members.
"This world is ruled and controlled by societies that exist within societies that exist within society. These secret societies are manuevering within society to control society, that's why society is out of control". - unknown.
Theres no real solid connection today. Some of the early members of the illuminati were masons. A lot of important people in history have been masons as well. If I remember correctly to become a 33rd member you have to do something significant. It is an honorary rank more than anything else.
Theres a freemasonry subreddit as well as many blogs run by masons debunking a lot of the conspiracies behind that group.
Is the person who is interested in spiritual secrets the type to study only one form of mysticism?
No.
The people who invest into this stuff do so with the same vigor as anyone else investing aspects of their lives into an identity. They do so with consuming, rather than conservative, intentions to becomes more.
It's ultimately about power, more than it's about meaning. So. these same people often seek out the higher levels of their organization as they come to realize that all these processes are secondary to the function of the knowledge-based structuring of the organizations authority structure:
That it does not matter what the 'secret' is, it's that you have the authority in bluff of having such secret, to command.
That's it.
People who desire power are weak inside, and they spread themselves thin looking for evidence of their own value. This thin selection is more of a diversification into clues that aid their journey; not succumbing to the journey itself or the nature of the knowledge in value
They dont want to live, they want to live better and different than right now; every moment an absence of satisfaction, in light of their prescribed quest for power.
they dont want to think, so much as have enough knowledge to never have to think again; kind of like filling your lungs up so you never have to breath. . .
Todays Mason's are harmless and focus on their Communities. They pool their resources and put it into Community Projects and Charities. There was a time where the rich and elite used it as a means to conduct more sinister business.
Focusing on their Communities = Having the Mayor, City Council, Judges, Police, Small Business owners and old money family's all working together to get rich by passing money, contracts, work, etc within the circle. I know a guy that is one, he has all black servants at his downtown old plantation house...
The south is eat up with this sort of set up, for the "good" of the community.

The reason why I asked you this is because I had an argument with one my relatives who I believe is with a lodge.
1 Mecanatron 2018-01-07
I'm not sure it's an argument really, as Weisshaupt was a mason.
That fact alone is proof. Any argument after that is just semantics.

Thank you for your reply.

I think you may have gotten your numbers a little mixed up. The 33rd degree is the highest attainable degree in the Scottish lodge.
1 boobookityfuck 2018-01-07
I didn't know it was the highest, I just know that's the scary one lol
1 Afrobean 2018-01-07
That's funny, your description of them withholding the truth about the organization reminds me of Scientology today.
Like it's all the same shit.

So Adam weisshaut left freemasonry or was still in it when he formed the illuminati?
1 raydasian 2018-01-07

Pretty sure illuminati was just the "woke/red pill" of that time span. So the masons was just a "illuminated" #light group of people
1 raydasian 2018-01-07
Wrong.
1 IndigoMD 2018-01-07
Have anything else to say besides wrong?
I think you should also understand the nature of words and how/why they work.

Don’t have to explain your self to me.

As a 32°, it would be far more interesting if it were somewhat true.
