Turpin family torture case
3 2018-01-19 by bongripsandpizzastix
In the news they’re saying that the kids were starved, beaten and tortured. It’s also says the family had an annual pass for Disneyland. It’s shows lots of family pictures of them out doing things or a portrait taken professional. They keep saying this has been going on for years and the kids are emaciated and look years younger than they actually are. But the pictures they show are fairly recent and they look like a normal family. No bruises or abnormal weight in any of them. Something seems off to me about this whole story.

From what I saw this morning they will use it to further an agenda against homeschooling.
1 NEJATI11 2018-01-19
Wtf that is stupid Even though I do not like public schooling using this to push an agenda against homeschooling seems pretty pointless unless your context is different then mine.
1 FoundtheTroll 2018-01-19
It’s already happening. The state has always pushed this Prussian based educational assembly line called public schools. Home-schooling will eventually be illegal.
1 Luke4_5thru8KJV 2018-01-19
I agree, and there is an oped against homeschooling in the LA Times using this case as a talking point. And, of course, even though these people were most likely cryptopagans performing SRA on these kids, they are being portrayed in the media as Christians.

Does anyone here know that the U.S. once had a nationwide visiting nurse program where every, yes the child every known birth, was visited several times during the first year of its life.
The purpose, to be certain the child was receiving adequate care and nutrition.

That damn government telling us what to do! It’s my right to forego “modern medicine” as the LORD commands me to do. No thx big government!

Removed. Rule 10

To my understanding, that program was shut down due to it being abused. Children were being taken from their homes at points, simply because a nurse decided she didn't like the parents for one reason or another. (Note: I could be wrong about this. But I heard that there was a big debacle that caused the shutdown of it.)
1 GuruOfGravitas 2018-01-19
The program was shut down during the Nixon years, because, that was when it was decided that the U.S.A. would have a "market and profit, based health care system.
Did you also know that it was once illegal for health insurance providers to be for profit operations, they were once all non-profit.
1 youcanridemytardis 2018-01-19
Ah, thank you for explaining! And I actually didn't know this about health insurance providers. Wow. Again, thank you for the information. :)
1 GuruOfGravitas 2018-01-19
OP I agree the photos we h ave seen don't fit the descriptions given of the children's conditions.
And there are other things that ring falsely about that story.
There is an ongoing AI protect to gain public reaction to as many issues as can be imagned. example: I think the Orlando shooting is one, mass killing of gay patrons.
One clue is how much coverage and time each receives in the media. And how the falseness is intuited.
Some are more obvious than others, the AI people are chasing false trails on the path to understanding human intelligence and our emotional responses.

I’m watching the story again now, they’re saying the kids didn’t know what police were. So the girl who escaped for help...what was the plan if not to go to the cops? Also that, they barely ever saw the outside world. Brings me back to the passes to Disneyland. Those are fucking expensive, especially for a family of 15, they most have gone at least to Disney fairly regularly?
1 agoofyhuman 2018-01-19
You don't have to know and understand police to get your situation is fucked up and anywhere else is better. Trust me, I used to run away, had no clue where I was going I just sensed innately that shit was wrong where I was. I was too young to understand police and what they do and that they can help. The little I knew about them suggested they were antagonistic and to be avoided. They weren't totally isolated from the wedding video they met other people that weren't chaining them and starving them so.
1 Un1c0rnTears 2018-01-19
They were commenting on the oddness of the older children not knowing... several of them gave become severely cognitively impaired from the abuse. I think this example was given to show how truly abused the children were.
1 youcanridemytardis 2018-01-19
Honestly, when you look at some of the pictures, the children do look pale and rather sickly... Especially if you look at the sizes of their arms while keeping in mind just how old they are.
1 Incognitoslapshot37 2018-01-19
How long ago was that photo taken? The details don't add up 100% but the important thing is those kids are safe now
1 canitbe73 2018-01-19
None of these people look like they're in their 20s and certainly not nearing 30, as some of them actually were.
1 lostkhronos 2018-01-19
There is not really anything abnormal about the weights of the individuals in the photos.
1 MagnificentMermaid 2018-01-19
Just take a look a the skinny waist on Thing 3.
1 83RB 2018-01-19
How long had they been chained up for? UK media shows a few photos of family holidays, yet we are told they lacked an education or didn’t know what a police officer or dentist were. Why didn’t they escape on said vacations? Whole thing is appalling, but certain things don’t add up.
1 awkward_thunder 2018-01-19
They were brainwashed and tortured from birth. We don’t know what they were told and with them being so isolated why would they think they had the option to escape? I’ve read that the girl that did escape planned it for 2 years. It’s not so simple as to just walk away.
1 83RB 2018-01-19
That’s frightening that parents could brain wash them in that way.
1 inFamousCheese 2018-01-19
They were chained up for weeks or months at a time, as punishment, apparently.
1 M8OnCrack 2018-01-19
Everyone is saying it fake news, so I don't know what to believe.
1 SumRegaliss 2018-01-19
I've seen no one call it 'fake news'. Then again, i don't move in those kinda circles, that use that kind of terminology. Maybe change the company you keep, eh, trumpboy?
1 gigi_gadget 2018-01-19
I’m wondering if they were a “farm” of some sort for a child sex ring. Rent them out or whatever. And that 49 year old mom kept having babies? Or did they make the older ones have sex with each and have the babies? Then they would always have a source for smaller children. Maybe those family days out were for cataloging them. More and more stories of this type - like the young lady on Dr. Phil - are coming out. Just my theories.
1 gigi_gadget 2018-01-19
We will never see their journals.
1 Incognitoslapshot37 2018-01-19
Apparently the two dogs were both well fed and in good condition. Weird.
1 valdalinkerpm5 2018-01-19
http://www.earthclassmail.com are scamming people.
1 Upupabove 2018-01-19
They look horribly skinny and there other family was not able even to Skype them.
Plus the neighbor saw them marching around all the time in the middle of the night, something was definalty up.
Plus their parents are creepy as hell.
1 bongripsandpizzastix 2018-01-19
The dads haircut is so stupid. He looks like he-man.
1 MagnificentMermaid 2018-01-19
Don't insult He-Man that way.
1 MagnificentMermaid 2018-01-19
Do you think it's a wig? Seems like it would be against hairdresser ethics to create a haircut that bad. Unless Louise cut it for him. Then it kind of makes sense.
1 FireflyDiamond98 2018-01-19
Marching?

I used to live in a very abusive home (not this bad but still incredibly bad). The “perfect family on the outside” charade is pretty much required to sustain an abusive relationship this long. If people heard/saw/guessed that anything remotely like “abuse” was happening the authorities would get involved, fast. This is also the reason why abusive parents rarely go as far as the Turpins allegedly did; the kids are pulled out before it gets that out of hand.
Please, call the authorities if you fear that kids are being abused at home. You could literally be saving someone’s life.
Another interesting aspect of the perfect family charade is that it’s often portrayed inside the family too. Bad things only happen because the kids “misbehave”. From an outsider’s perspective it’s hard to grasp how shackling someone to the bed for days could be a just punishment for, well, anything, but in some fucked up way this often plays out as the parent being “forced” by the child to “do bad things”. Hence the Disneyland pictures; the kids don’t hate their parents because they genuinely believe their hearts are in the right place.
I hope none of you can relate to this.
Fuck these people.
1 Un1c0rnTears 2018-01-19
I've actually been relating to this family ever since I heard of them. I'm sorry you can relate as well.
1 Un1c0rnTears 2018-01-19
I was just reading Dave McGowen's book, Programmed to Kill. The first six chapters, it feels like he is describing this exact family.
1 lostkhronos 2018-01-19
I agree. Something doesn't add up. If you look at the photos of their residence, they live in a very affluent area. Also, the photos of the family look perfectly normal in terms of the children's weight.
1 jayjayreddit 2018-01-19
No abnormal weight? You're joking right? They're all extremely thin.
1 MagnificentMermaid 2018-01-19
Here is my perspective as a professional who assesses people for malnutrition on a daily basis...
Baggy clothing can mask how skinny someone is.
In some of the photos you can clearly see the collarbones of some of the children. While this may be normal to some extent in women and girls, is less so for men and boys. Take a look at the boys in the Disney photos for example. Could be the style but the boys pants always seems to look very baggy in all the photos I've seen. https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/906044/turpin-family-david-louise-torture-chain-california
In reference to the extremely low weights reported... one of the adult children in their late 20's weighing 80 something pounds... There is no way to know from the reports if this weight was maintained over years or if weight was lost over a more recent shorter period of time.
Louise herself has physical signs of malnutrition. Her eyes are sunken in and this is evident in some of the older photos as well... however not in her high school photo... Court photos also show indentations at her temples and her cheeks are somewhat gaunt compared to past photos. You don't have to be skinny to be malnourished or starving. And these changes to the face are not necessarily normal signs of aging.
Louise's mother appears VERY anorexic in photos. And her father appears obese. Scroll down to view the family photo with everyone standing. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5289527/David-Louise-Turpin-eloped-16.html Could there be a history of eating disorder in the family or food being withheld form the mom or kids? Articles from sister Elizabeth's perspective mention Louise's mom experiencing abuse. Sometimes various forms of abuse go hand in hand with food issues. And sometimes abuse and food issues get passed down as learned behaviors unfortunately.
Some people with anorexia who have a history of sexual abuse might want to make themselves less curvy/womanly or less attractive to their predator. I haven't heard of a parent starving their kids for this reason, for example to protect them the dad if that was part of it, but I guess anything is possible in this bizarre case.
I also find it odd that the youngest seems more nourished than the rest, dressed a little nicer and getting more attention according to some articles. I wonder if this particular child is favored or if all the children were favored until they became a certain age.
Not really getting at anything in particular here. Just some thoughts.

Just look up the movie Family Sins (2004) with Kirstie Alley.
1 Minilise 2018-01-19
Watch this video and tell me they dont look neglected! Keep in mind 7 of those kids are grownup in this video. Come on....https://youtu.be/6Tb4ZBbvcrc
1 avacapone 2018-01-19
at 24:58 with one of the sons dancing you can really see how big that suit is on him, even though it's the right sleeve and pant length. Also at 16:00 when the girls say their names really stuck out to me. I don't know how old this vid is but they don't sound like teens at all.
1 roaringlemyns 2018-01-19
I am sure CPS would remove them if one of the parents smoked weed
