SS: I see that MSM is now reporting that the #releasethememo movement is aided by Russian bots. And while it is fishy the amount of posts on this subject I'm still curious as to who validates these claims. Also if it's widely known to be true that Russians do this, what about China? North Korea? Just something I've been thinking about and wanted to ask the community their thoughts.
In the future, if you're making a self post, just put the SS (or just the content itself) in the self.text body of the post. Makes it easier for users to see what you're talking about, and less likely we'll remove it under rule 12.
Of course. Apparently Democrats and neocons are perfect angels who can do no wrong, and the only explanation for any criticism or opposition they face in public dialogue is those dastardly Russians. /s
Seriously, though, all evidence suggests that astroturfing on social media, including bots, is a global phenomenon. IMO, it's very likely that a greater proportion of astroturfing targeting Americans is American in origin, since that's where the actual money and stronger economic incentives are. It doesn't even make mathematical sense for Russia, with less than half the population and 7% the GDP of the United States, to invest significantly more in astroturfing American social media spaces than actual Americans do. The bang for their back would be minuscule with all the competition, especially when you factor in the greater costs associated with the language barrier.
I've run into shills from corporations, Freemasons, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, US military, FBI, CIA, British, Australian, Canadian, German, Turkish, Iranian, and Israeli intelligence. I have never once run into a Russian bot.

Russia is very active in the hacker world. But what they are currently accused of is a fantasy.

I’m sure there are other nations doing it, but you only really heart about the Russians cause of the impact they had on the last election

Unsubstantiated allegation of not quantifiable Russian influence on the election.

$20 says you're a Russian...

Did Russian bots change any votes? Were any voter systems comprised by the Russian bots?
I have yet to hear this claimed. If any votes were changed by Russian bots then I would agree they impacted the election.

Hell no. Most of them on twitter/facebook/reddit are american.
Russian bots are probably mostly on VK and stuff.

1 1-800-GOFUCKYOURSELF 2018-01-20
Everything's russian. There's only russian bots, russian conspiracies, russian mafias, and fake russian moon landings.
1 SJWPussyLibtard 2018-01-20
Obviously not. But they do exist and a lot of people seem to not really care because they are used to support their side of things.
