Is that blue spiral picture really from last night in Asheville?!?!? That's the tell tale signs of a missile launch....but over Western NC? That doesn't make sense. I live in Charlotte, and we're not exactly a hot bed of missile technology around here...
That's so strange. The only other times I've seen pictures like that they've been associated with missile launches that have gone out of control. Wouldn't a launch be over the ocean if it was something we sent up though? I can't think of any circumstances where we would test anything over actual population. So, that leaves another country/corporation. WTF is going on in our skies?
And I don't think I've ever seen a green halo around a fireball IRL. I know many meteors burn green, I've never seen a pic of one with a ring.
I seriously think we're shooting down what we can from a wave of potentially life-threatening debris. Or maybe we're just testing our rocket/missle accuracy on these things in a leadup to war.
It's certainly not the first time there's been booms and rumbles in the area, some people think they're digging or working out of a Deep Underground Military Base (DUMB) around here too.
The picture in the OP is from a report from last year. The main page of that website doesn't have any news (yet) about anything happening overnight / today.
But there may be other reports other than just the news stories on the main page if you want to dig around a little more with your location / date.

From what I can figure out from the AMS site, it was posted 4-5 hours ago on the page regarding the reports from WNC

Was it Chicago that had a big meteor the other day too?

That area- a friend near Michigan tipped me off to it. The boom and flash made news here on conspiracy for a day or so, it was so fresh after Hawaii
