What a weird thread yesterday.

If you want to see a perfect example of vote manipulation/brigading on this subreddit, take a look at this thread from yesterday. The mods even had to intervene.
If you do not think this subreddit is a battleground for highly partisan hacks, then you are mistaken. This is the perfect opportunity to remind people to judge comments on their content, and not their circlejerkery. Also, search through 'new' and 'controversial'. Lastly, don't get discouraged. Keep turning over the stones, and keep searching for knowledge.

A worthless sub is not worth manipulating. This sub is highly manipulated. At the end of the day, that's what we all wanted. We wanted to reach out to enough people to make it worthwhile for interest of different kinds to manipulate us.
It's been fun!

The funny part is how bad they are at manipulating though. The more they type the more obvious it is.

Probably because we are skeptical, cynical, vigilant, and experienced.
I think they still fool plenty of people... maybe not in here, but they are effective.
1 Xaviermgk 2018-02-18
I don't disagree. But their nastiness is showing. Maybe they are letting bad actors out themselves, imo. I can't believe how stupid these people are. ;)

There are keywords, like shareblue or podesta which act like chum.
1 Xaviermgk 2018-02-18
And there are certain terms they will never address, as well. One was talking about how the Russians "meddling" was defamatory because the ad talked about Hillary Clinton sacrificing babies...but refused to say anything when I countered by stating that she referenced Molech in an email (a Babylonian god basically defined by child sacrifice).
I like to make these guys uncomfortable and their positions untenable.

Tested that before, pretty sure that's what sparks the visits.
1 murphy212 2018-02-18
Absolutely.
This allows to see something. There are "allowed", let's even say "mainstream" conspiracy theories - which there is no problem for to discuss. These discussions suffer no brigading or shilling.
Then there is the truth, which gets downvoted/ridiculed into oblivion, even when it is stated in an inquisitive/speculative (and therefore reasonable, Aristotle-friendly way).
I will leave this here. Warning you are not supposed to see this.

We never used to have a +500 comment and -50 responses in conspiracy before, and now it happens alot. Sometime is different mods.

There have been several bot-net posts the last week or so, too.
1 pelirrojo 2018-02-18
Notice there are no posts with fewer than ten points, positive or negative.

Check out my recent posts on this sub not about Russiagate... All under 10...

Political conspiracies weren't so popular either.

A new thing also is that any thread that goes against the mainstream narrative (doesn't immediately hold Russia accountable for all the world's problems, seeks to bring Clinton/Podesta to justice, has a focus on Israel and the US itself as a nefarious party) consistently and almost without fail gets downvoted to 50-60% with little to no push-back in the actual comments as to why.
They've realized that going into these threads and attempting to mock people or even try to disagree with them with the usual deflections and tactics is less effective than simply trying to hide the content from the general audience.

Kings of the world, able to beat back waves of moneyed opinions. Thats why they try to appease us.

I am currently -56 for calling Hillary a criminal.
1 GoneWheeling 2018-02-18
Haha Youve got me beat but im pushing back hard too... i noticed a big glut last night between midnight and 3am? Israel maybe?
1 QuickQuestion4uu 2018-02-18
It was probably linked to a pro-hillary website.
1 devils_advocaat 2018-02-18
Well, in the eyes of the law, she currently isn't a criminal.
1 GoneWheeling 2018-02-18
Put her in front of a jury for pay to play and see how that pans out lol
1 devils_advocaat 2018-02-18
Pay for play is too hard to prove.
Obstruction of justice whilst trying to hide pay for play is more likely.

Democrats are pissed off about Trump and the GOP colluding with Russia to steal the 2016 Presidential and Congressional elections. We have audio recordings of them admitting that Putin pays Trump and proving the GOP's complicity in the collusion! It's insane that people are not rioting in the streets over the theft of their government for corporate profits and real estate billionaires, and you're surprised about some fucking downvotes?
1 exkreations 2018-02-18
Tell me one thing in your comment that has anything even remotely to do with the sentiment "Hillary is a criminal" besides your own projected need to put Trump in the spotlight. Why can't both crooked politicians be brought to justice?
1 QuickQuestion4uu 2018-02-18
The shift in voting is strikingly different yhan usual. I didn't assign it a value it is just an observation.
The other peculiar thing with this sudden outrage of foreign influence is the selectiveness. The Clinton foundation funnels foreign money all the time, Israeli citizens hold powerful government positions, and campaigns funded by the Saudis.
The link you provided says that some lawnakers think that Trump mayy be paid off. Hearsay speculation isn't evidence of anything.
What you are really proving and we agree on is that we are running on an outdated model that is ripe with corruption. If these positions of such central authority didn't even exist in the first place we wouldnt be in this dilemma.
From someone who doesn't buy into the system at all the whole Russian collusion thing is an obvious distraction from the crimes of the establishment. Russia is a convenient scapegoat and the emporer has less and less clothes everyday.

Somebody should write an article in a main publication about how /r/politics was duped into anti trump propaganda over the last 18 months.
