A new indicator of whether a conspiracy theory is close to the truth is how hard you get downvoted on this sub.
0 2018-02-22 by Tunderbar1
If you post something in this sub that is kinda crazy and out there and obviously silly, and it's not politically relevant, you'll get fairly quickly downvoted to a bit below zero and your post will just fade away. As it should.
But if you hit a nerve on the narrative of the day that is being foisted on us by the powers that be, your posts will be shitcanned hard. The shills and CTR types will come at your post hard.
I made several posts pointing out issues with the school shooting and the crisis actors and those posts were hit fast and hard. Downvotes counts like -52, -58, -95, -105. Most downvotes within the first hour.
That is highly unusual. Especially in this sub.... that is supposed to be a conspiracy theory sub. Conspiracy theorists are not that reactionary.

Interested - What were those posts this week? Were they on an alt account?
I keep hearing these posts about brigading - and have the time today to dig into the research. Any leads from your experience?
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
I have no alt accounts. How many do you have?
1 Tonisha420 2018-02-22
Zero. This is not a personal attack.
You said you made previous posts that were downvoted. I went to look at your post history, and didn't see those posts. Hence my question.
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
Look harder.

I reached out to help you. I told you i have time to help you research this. I asked a clarifying question to try to understand your post better, but at the end of the day this is your thread.
Good luck man.

Yea nobody down votes or up votes ever. It's like 1 out of 2000 readers bother
1 torkarl 2018-02-22
This. I don't really care about votes - either tons or none - giving them out or paying attention to them - it's ALWAYS the thought and communication skills that get my interest.
It's hard to do on big posts but I try to scan all the way down - not assuming a low vote means anything at all - in some cases I will find the best thoughts with the lowest votes at the bottom, and collapsed for easy skipping...

Topics that get downvoted immediately, and to which "rebuttals" are always upvoted in disproportionate and noticeably manipulated quantities:
"hoax" shootings or the word "hoax"
questioning the heliocentric model of the universe
vitiating the moon landings
Not that I would recommend this as entertainment, I'm sure everyone has better things to do today, but my comment history is a good example of the phenomenon you're describing OP.

Good - to - know. Thanks - for - the - tip.
I tend to sort by controversial anyway.

ah a true conspirator I see.
1 Afrobean 2018-02-22
That's where I find the best stuff usually. New has it too, but when you do new, you also have to contend with the bullshit they flood the queue with. I usually don't have enough patience to dig through the trash to find the gold.

Yes this should raise red flags to anyone
1 tazcatlipoca 2018-02-22
They took out the counter to see how many upvotes/downvotes total because it was harder to pull off the narrative then
1 CloudsHideNibiru 2018-02-22
Bingo!
1 useless_aether 2018-02-22
this is why voat is honest. even individual comments display up/downvote counters
1 tazcatlipoca 2018-02-22
Personally i dont like voat. In order to downvote, you have to like have a certain amount of posts or something?? I cant even downvote there. you can only post a certain amount of times in a certain time frame. Not a fan personally
1 useless_aether 2018-02-22
yeah. they want more comments, not posts, but once you reach 100 and 200 comments, the limitation is disbled.
1 DisturbedFfej 2018-02-22
Yeah, that must be it...
1 Dodge1992 2018-02-22
Ah, just have to be a Trump supporter and you get downvoted.
1 Habanero_Eyeball 2018-02-22
I think there are bots immediately down voting any posts that aren't from a select group of people. It seems like most posts get down voted immediately.
1 tazcatlipoca 2018-02-22
Yes like this comment. Downvote bots are real here.
1 originalbL1X 2018-02-22
I always sort by 'New' so as not to be manipulated by any of you.

What retarded logic. It couldn’t possibly be that people on here just talk out their ass and are typically idiots?
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
So you and your buddies feel compelled to come to this sub and spend your valuable time countering these idiotic ramblings coming out of their asses?
Smart people would let the idiotic ramblings coming out of their asses speak for itself.
Which is why people who are actually interested in conspiracies just let that shit die on its own.
Activists, on the other hand, when they feel their narratives being challenged and outed as lies, will push back hard to re-establish the narrative.
You guys keep on downvoting and attacking us. When you do, we win.
1 ATLKing123 2018-02-22
What a typical moron response.
No, I literally come here to laugh at some of the idiots. It’s entertaining. I don’t downvote or upvote, couldn’t care less. I laugh. The only scary part is half of you clowns actually believe some of the blatantly dumb yet dangerous things y’all say.
Granted stupidity will eventually eat itself, only a matter of time. But sure keep thinking you “win” in any sense of the word lmao.
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
You couldn't care less..... but you are still here. Arguing with me. And I'm the moron. LOL.
1 ATLKing123 2018-02-22
Bored at work lol. Great argument from this subs finest. You are the entertainment I need thanks. Always appreciate those with lower IQ’s
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
Thanks for the ad hominem. Always appreciate people who throw the debate without prompting.
1 ATLKing123 2018-02-22
LMAO. Look at you using big words. Based on that horrendous logic you tried using in OP I’m shocked you could spell it
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
You can have the last word. You seem like you need it more.
1 Ayn-Randy_Savage 2018-02-22
Except the very highest /controversial post in the sub right now is a debunked picture from 2013 that claims to be a family of crisis actors.
It is provably wrong, and the most downvoted recent comment.
So yeah, I call bullshit.
1 Pelaminoskep 2018-02-22
I didn't think there were that many people active in here within an hour.
I think downvoting is a bit of a weird thing to do actually. If someone is really offensive, you just report them. If you disagree, you give argumentation in a post. Downvoting is just the lazy or coward way to express an opinion I think.
Upvotes on the other hand are just a nice way of saying I like this.
Have an upvote!
1 Tunderbar1 2018-02-22
I rarely use downvotes. The lack of upvotes is more than enough of a statement on what i think of anyone's post.
Basically I downvote trolls. Or blatant politically biased shill attacks. Stuff that pisses me off.
But if someone posts a genuine opinion or presents an argument, I either posit my opinion, or I skip over it entirely.
I find that downvotes are the tools of people who actively want to repress others opinions. Like activists and shills. Therefore the more actively something is downvoted, the more we can assume that a group is trying to shut down that voice.
