Called it...as soon as I heard we were transferring soldiers from Iraq to Afghanistan, I said - "Watch..we'll start to see attacks by the Taliban in the eastern provinces on Iran's borders.

Edit: sorry, title gore..western provinces...I'm too lazy to repost.

Well...it didn't take long at all.

"At least 18 Afghan soldiers were killed on Saturday in the Bala Boluk district of western Farah province when Taliban fighters stormed an army checkpoint."

It just amazes me that every single time the US needs an enemy to show up in a certain geographical location in order to justify the amassing of troops...they show up...right on cue. Simply amazes me.

There was a front page post a day or two ago feeding the Two Minutes Hate for Iran, something about forcing women to wear hijab I think. I was waiting for something else to come up with regard to Iran.

It's like watching a two year old figure out how to get into the cookie jar....so predictable.

As sick as it is, I can't really blame them for pulling the same shit when it works every time.

No..you can't. Because you're right, it does work every time now because our media aren't doing their job as journalists anymore and asking the questions that need to be asked...bunch of mockingbirds.

The media has defunded by the internet.

Journalism is dead. I mean literally, with the deaths of reporters like Michael Hastings and Serena Shimm. Even the "alternative media" is saturated with sabateurs, and left hollow.

Ignore the smoke.

Sorry, I'm fanning the smoke with the intention of getting this to play out faster.

Really, the quicker we get this over with, the faster we can get back to progress.

Get what over with? What does progress look like to you, and to what goal should we progress?

Get what over with?

The transfer from a middle school to high school mentality. You know, more critical thinking!

This is so true.

The Taliban have been steadily regaining power ever since America withdrew from Afghanistan. It just goes entirely unreported in the West, but they have been gaining territory and taking on the ANA ever since the Coalition Forces left, they never really stopped and with the Worlds attention turning to Syria they are making bigger and bigger moves.

I can‘t see America going back full force into Afghanistan, but American troops and bases will always be there.

The current Afghan Government is pushing for peace talks that do not include the US.

The Taliban considers the current Afghan Government to be illegitimate and only wants to discuss conditions with the US.

The US is openly stating they do not want to be a part of the negotiations.

The Taliban is currently being hammered by US and Afghan forces and it’s about to get worse.

The Taliban will not enter into any negotiations from a weak position and without the US being there.

It’s a major cluster that will just drag on.

"Welcome to the jungle it gets worse here every day" - Axl Rose on the government's take down / destroy plan being actively implemented.

You either think or don't. Pick one

Well, Iran is in the Western border of Afghanistan. The Eastern side is controlled by Pakistani based terrorist organizations such as Haqqani, LeT, JeT, and about a half dozen more.
