EFF on twitter: "Today is a dark day for the Internet. Congress just passed the Internet censorship bill SESTA/FOSTA." Within hours of the bill passing, reddit moved to censor 100s of communities. The Pandora's Box has been opened, and the modern internet now faces its toughest test to date.

949  2018-03-21 by AssuredlyAThrowAway

Earlier today, reddit moved to censor 100s of communities related to "transactions for certain goods and services" from the platform, as the SESTA/FOSTA bill passed today means that reddit can be held liable for content posted by its users.

As the EFF notes, the groups behind this draconian censorship see this only as a first step;

Some of these groups behind #SESTA / #FOSTA seem to see the bill as a mere stepping stone to banning pornography from the Internet.- https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20170929/01242638309/campaigners-sesta-see-it-as-first-step-to-stomping-out-porn.shtml

As a result of the bills which passed today, and the subsequent response by sites such as reddit, today could do down as the beginning of the end for the free and open internet.

Absent judicial intervention to overturn the laws in question, we may be on the verge of a brave new internet; an internet vastly different than the open and free platform which has defined online life for nearly 20 years.

Then maybe today can also be the beginning of user maintained networking, like meshnet. We need to take this shit back, and as long as we pay these monster companies to run the wires from me to you, we have no control.

I'm in! Any suggestions for where to begin learning more about this?

i know about a group working on a solution; they have a private & ad free search engine - http://scout.click with plans to integrate IPFS (mesh file storage protocol similar to http) and the blockchain..

How do you know they have plans to integrate IPFS and DLT? Is there somewhere I can see the team's updates?

try freenetproject.org - decentralized, reliable, unstoppable

i saw it mentioned in their discord;

here's the btctalk announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2074444.0

I suggested having the next Round Table discussion be about alternate platforms recently. Hmmm.

yes!

Don't remember which sub it was from but earlier today on r/all there was an article about how the blockchain is being used to store underage porn. Can't trust those decentralized networks!!

The only reason to need anonymity is to do something awful and illegal, citizen!

To those who didn't read, basically people are using the blockchain's 'note' function, which passes a note along the chain, such as 'money for game' is being abused to send links to thinks like CP. Or at least that's my understanding.

Yeah, something like that. Hard to prevent. Could be prevented in bitcoin, but not e.g. in Etherium.

I mean pedos and pervs are gonna use all means necessary to get their fix. Before the internet, there was an underground for this crap via pictures and stuff films.

Block chain is still worth it for freedom of speech and to fight the current censorship purges

yeah, old school pedos would have magazines and serials being sent out, and they would also have them available at adult stores under the counter (think you had to know someone or some keyword to get access, but i read on a great website (that i have lost now) about this process. it was a website with an all yellow background with articles on nude beaches, predators, and other articles analyzing and researching the nature of pedophiles and child molesters).

well its similar to a drug addict, no matter how illegal, they will always find a way

Aaahhhhhh thank you very much for explaining that. I couldn't for the life of me understand how they sent child porn through the blockchain

No, you can actually store an entire binary file there, not just a link. At least with bitcoin. The method was pioneered early on by Assange and Wikileaks. It's actually quite interesting. More info

Meh. The sources can still 404. Call me when someone clogs the chain with embedded image data -- cost prohibitive, but plausible.

i think you need a /s on this...

Yeah, I just posted a LPT about if you look where you shouldn't be looking, that's your problem.

My research gets into underage sex and pedophilia, but all my sources are meant to be viewed by as many people as possible - movies, documentaries, news articles, etc.

wait what? how did they go into what i said about the guy “you only need anon if you are hiding something”

Is this the same thought process as "if you have nothing to hide you'll let them search your stuff"?

sorry i must have read what he said wrong, i do think we need anonymity online and even if we have nothing to hide they still shouldn’t search our stuff

I agree. I have nothing to hide, but I don't want someone going through my shit unless I'm dead lol

i thought the parent comment actually meant anonymity online was only used for criminals

to have a truly free and open internet, all censorship must be banned. censorship is a very slippery slope, as we are seeing. start with snuff, and child pornography things most people agree on, and then this week, all adult consensual sex work disappears, and then...craigslist personals.

to fight for freedom of speech is to understand that yes, the underbelly of humanity does exist. its not pretty, or moral, but it exists.

if we were to create a free and decentralized and uncensored internet....which I firmly believe we NEED, we need to understand that all will be allowed. this is uncomfortable for some and unconventional conventional thinking it seems. But it is necessary. On a psychic level, the light shines upon the dark. Human behavior is what it is. In all its gory and glory. I envision a free decentralized internet that is 100% uncensored. this will shine a light on the underbelly of humanity but it also will ensure our right to freedom of speech, whatever our perspectives are, no matter how different they are from our neighbor

So yes, please, those that are capable and working in tech, we need this.

Free speech = anonymous speech. 4chan and other such sites are the biggest deep state/globalist threat for uncensored information.

Good link, and I definitely should have included it in my original comment. I was just pointing out how quickly the 'boogeyman' can be brought out to scare the public away from decentralized action.

Actually it isn't bullshit. The article doesn't address the core issue. They say that there's a low probability that you'd stumble upon it (duh), that is is very little of it in the blockchain (duh), and it is old news so it doesn't mean anything. That doesn't actually address the issue at hand.

The initial story said

The team found that 99 percent of the files consisted of either text or an image and a relatively small number of files contained sexual content—only eight. But one of those files was identified as a pornographic image of a subject who was likely underage. Two other files contained a total of 274 links to child abuse, 142 of those links directed to the dark web.

That isn't a lot and no one ever said it was infested with with CP and whatnot. And yes, possessing encrypted/obfuscated CP is still against the law. Is anybody going to be prosecuted for it? Probably not. Should people just blow it off? Probably not.

It's bullshit as far as being a non-story, the convoluted means to put an image on the blockchain in 80 byte chunks means you may as well be talking about the ability to encode porn in a twitter or youtube comment. Actually the cost to do so these days make it even less of an issue and 99.9% of bitcoin users don't even hold a copy of the blockchain, they don't need to.

My brother messaged me saying "I dunno how to feel about blockchain now". I said he really needs to understand what blockchain is if he thinks this is literal.

Unfortunately, this is how the public are... The same as my sheeple brother who refuses to think for himself.

If you want to know why anonymity is a good thing for people, just ask the fathers of the revolutionary war. Anonymity and privacy is necessary to combat oppressive governments. Before the revolutionary war, the british would be able to just barge into anyones home and take anyone or anything without cause or justification. The U.S. constitution was written very carefully with the intent of giving the people a way to fight their own governments should the government stop working for the people. Thats why our system works

They are moving to ban unprotected radio signals, essentially the open wifi channels that would be used in a meshnet. I think dark days are coming.

I’ve always wondered what people are thinking when they would talk about user maintained networking. If all of the copper and fiber are owned by corporations, and the FCC controls the airwaves, how are we supposed to be creating a network?

Or steemit.com, bitchute.com.

That's all good, but it leaves the sheeple stuck in their manipulated reality. The ultimate divide n conquer whew

Distributed Network.

I've been seeking a distributed social network to replace FB. Here's a comparison of some of the available options today.

Still mainly rough early stages.

We are about to find out if Richard was able to figure out the "new internet" this Sunday Night!!

But for real, this sucks.

Or maybe we could just stop posting on reddit and leave to another platform , killing reddits revenue.

How am I supposed to find someone brave enough to test out my sex machine now? I JUST finished the prototype. Its aamamamamamamazing!

Man.. this is cool stuff. I'm a ham operator for about 10 years now and this is very enticing. I just watched a few vids on youtube and it l'd like to mess around a bit with it. Quick question... so once the mesh net is set up, if you wanted to use it like the "internet", I'm assuming the users would have to run their own web servers on their nodes, right? And then someone would need to somehow index the servers and the sites, like a DNS service? And then someone would have to create a crawler that would index the sites, etc? So essentially, if I understand correctly, it would be like the www being re-created but in a de-centralized network?

Look up CJDNS.

So is this brandished to stop child sex trafficking or is that just the cover?

Whatever the bill's real intentions are, this bill is ripe for abuse. The reason the free world is dogmatic about freedom of speech is because censorship is a slippery slope.

Europe has many "hate speech" laws. Most of them time they are used for their intended purpose; sometimes, they used to silence critics. The nature of language is that it can be interpreted many ways by many different people. This presents a problem because either the interpretation of the legal language, or interpretation of the speech in question can be manipulated to violate a speech censorship law. https://theintercept.com/2017/08/29/in-europe-hate-speech-laws-are-often-used-to-suppress-and-punish-left-wing-viewpoints/

Even if the intentions of this bill are totally respectable, it can be abused. This bill represents a "chic in the armor" for free speech, and a toe in the door for people who want to censor dissent.

Exactly. And things are starting to move quite fast now as well. Won't be long now before free speech on the internet is a blissful dream of the past.

They need to retake control over the internet, not only through shills and bots and vote-manipulation, but also through suppressing alternatives that do not fall in line with the narrative they need to maintain their power structure.

Most of them time they are used for their intended purpose; sometimes, they are used to silence critics.

But that's the exact same thing. What you call "intended purpose" is simply critics that disagree with YOU.

You can read the actual text of the amendment and a summary here. That'd answer all your questions without any spin.

Short answer is that it is about sex trafficking, shifting more culpability to the service providers that enabled online trafficking activities.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1865

In the linked reddit announcement post, it's being used to prohibit the selling or promotion of guns, controlled substances, user information, solicitation of sex (think it specifically said physical though)and counterfeit documents or currency

The intention is to ban voluntary adult prostitution. "Trafficking" is a codeword meaning consensual prostitution.

Acts like this is why we need to REPEAL the commerce clause asap.

Seems like youtube is doing the same thing.

YouTube bans videos that sell guns and accessories

Can you point me to the language in the legislation that references guns in any way shape or form?

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1865/text

Where did that guy say YouTube was following congress?

Well r/gundeals was shutdown. And it was just a link aggregator to deals online. No sales took place on the sub itself.

I read through that and though I only understand the main gist of it, it does seem to be specific to prostitution and sex trafficking. The only part I'm able to see that may apply to broader online transactions is this:

To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to clarify that section 230 of such Act does not prohibit the enforcement against providers and users of interactive computer services of Federal and State criminal and civil law relating to sexual exploitation of children or sex trafficking, and for other purposes.

How broad can that wording apply to? Can they really extend that part to other controlled substances?

Anyone have a link to the bill? I had problems finding it.

Thank you

The only Senators voting NO were Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR)

Every fucking time, why?

Because they're the only two people who actually read what they're voting on.

Hooly shit

weird that with republicans in control of all areas of government they'd be increasing censorship massively... oh wai- no it's not, they only pretend to be for freedom of speech because it helps them trick idiots into voting against their own interests and supporting the corrupt plutocrat party.

It's both parties, go check the roll call.

Forgive them for they know not what they do.

Injecting partisanship, at a time like this? They are not forgiven.

where can one do that?

Well let's see if our hero and savior vetoes the bill.

Not saying he would veto it, but it doesn't matter either way, with votes like that, it's veto proof.

quit trying to steer people back in to the distraction of the left/right circus. we know that's not where the true depth of these problems lies.

Weird that only 1 Democrat voted against it.

is it? I think when it comes to something like this, it has a lot less to do with partisanship a lot more to do with age. it’s just a bunch of old idiots fucking with the rest of us cause they think they know best

Come on mang. The left loves censorship too. Look up tipper gore and her rage against naughty words in music.

What decade are you living in? Tipper Gore?

The 90s will live forever

It was the 80s. PMRC.

You act as if which decade it is matters. You think the Democrats have found new morals regarding censorship. They love censorship just as much as Republicans, only they're good at being subtle about it.

Right. That's why they had to reach back to the early 90s for a reference an entire generation of voters whom she doesn't represent, and has never represented, probably wouldn't even understand. She was a joke to the party even back then. I'd be willing to bet even Tipper regrets that.

Uh how about........slightly more democrats voted for passage of this shit bill? Come on shill, quit trying to claim Uniparty doesn't exist!

Seems like theyre both controlled opposition of one another unless its shady shit like this that wont be seen on any msm.

Lol, yeah banning pornographers from the net. It’ll never happen. Also, the world is slightly bigger than the US. What annoys me with EFF is that they are so full of FUD and exaggeration all the time, it’s like the boy who cried wolf.

Republicans are going all out with their war on porn. Trust me, if they start cracking down, "Democrats" roll over (like usual), and judges don't push back, they can and will ban porn.

It's a "health crisis" don't ya know...

#SESTA / #FOSTA seem to see the bill as a mere stepping stone to banning pornography from the Internet

They can try this, but it can never happen. If they were to ban it from the internet, you can bet your ass that thousands of companies would get their ass in gear to create a new type of marketplace for this stuff. Decentralized seems to be the big thing.Porn helped VHS beat Betamax and helped the internet become as big as it is so maybe that's what it's going to take for someone to create the "next internet".

I did it all for the nookie

Its a stepping stone. First you label them, then you restrict access to them, then you filter them like UK and Australia do, then you block them.

We are now challenged to create our own system. Believe me, if my area Congressmen were part of this, they have lost my vote, and they WILL KNOW IT!

Name checks out.

Honest question, can companies not just host on a non-American company?

The feds could still seize the domain.

So the United States Federal Government basically polices the world?

Yeah, that's what it looks like to me.

That’s what imperial entities do. They enforce their will on whoever they want.

Why? Reddit isn't being forced to do this, they are doing it because they want to.

Lots of not illegal shit they just banned

They banned legal things too.

Many countries are passing similar laws. And prosecuting people for violating them internationally whenever they can get a hold of the operators or extradite them. So you need to live in a non-extradition country, with freedom compatible laws, and host your site there or in a similar freedom loving country. Good luck working those odds.

Oh yea, and limit your travel. And find users tolerant of high latency and blockades.

Which countries? Link please?

I would like to know as well.

Now I know why there was boom booms in Austin

My first thought as well

Should be top comment.

Exactly. Gotta love those distractions.

Fuck. This is dead on.

Holy shit your right

Some guy targeted minority's with bombs and eventually kills himself just to be a distraction for a bill to pass? Really? Trump and his tweets are the real distraction.

He didn’t target minorities. Guess you missed the “two white guys” one with the trip wire.

They were trip wires...he wasn't Bradly Cooper from limitless, timing their next moment.

uh he knew that they would be opened after they were delivered.

He didn't have a specific target. If he were hitting churches, mosques, or temples, yeah....

Uh huh, and the fourth bomb? Ha.

I didn't know any of those interesting subs even existed until now! Talk about showing up too late for the party.

So you mainly just frequent the main subs? Default ones I mean?

I've chosen my own subs to create a unique REDDIT experience. I was never aware of the buying and selling going on. I'll be honest with you, when I watched a film of the Jonas Brothers in concert. As an adult, I was really entertained by their stage show.

If this is taken up by the courts, up to the Supreme Court, how can this be Constitutional? How could it survive a challenge?

Constitution doesnt say anything about the internet. When was the last time the supreme court shot down a bill with over 90% approval by both parties?

Constitution doesnt say anything about the internet

It doesn't say anything about planes, either. WTF are you smoking?

What about the second part?

What about it? Do you want me to give you the year?

You're just throwing disjointed arguments at the wall and hoping one sticks. Stop it.

You forget Reddit is a private institution and can do whatever they want.

I don't understand this sub:

  • You hate the government
  • Everything is a false flag to steal your rights
  • You want everything deregulated
  • You get all pissy when a company does what it wants
  • You don't understand anti-censorship is regulation

He’s talking about the law that was passed, Not Reddit’s actions.

The internet is porn. They’ll pry it from the internet’s cold dead king fu grip

I say the whole thing comes down, I can live without internet, just kidding ha ha...

we need an internet bill of rights

They banned GunDeals !...I'm not happy

It's odd that it happened under this admistration. Or is it?

Oh snaps. “2018” written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

I don't know that the presidential administration has anything to do with what subs reddit bans for no reason. Unless you are talking about the spez administration.

I'm talking about all the erosion of our 1st amendment. Net neutrality, this, attacks on highschoolers. It's ramping up.

The first amendment has nothing to do with reddit though. What attacks on highschoolers?

Fucking dark net markets got the ban hammer.

Why the hell wasn't the EFF and all the other internet freedom advocates making a stink about this? Almost no one knew this was coming.

The EFF was. But virtually nobody else.

Everyone just saw "Anti sex trafficking" and said oh that's a good thing without actually reading the language of the bill which is beyond broad with massive criminal/civil penalties. I have no idea how services like GMail or even cell phone companies do not violate this law.

Is there a list of banned subs?

Slow erosion of our freedom of speech. Keep voting republican everyone! At this rate we all be in jail by the end if the year! /s

This was in the works to happen regardless of who won.

Why doesn't trump stop it?

Because he's in on it, just like Hillary would have been?

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/1693

Introduced 08/01/2017. So 3 months before this administration was even put into place.

Wait what? By "this administration" we're talking about the Trump administration, no?

Here is a link to the actual text of the bill everyone. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1865/text

It only specifies sex trafficking and prostitution nothing else so these other subs getting shut down is merely coincidence. It basically says if you host a website that promotes illegal sex trafficking or prostitution your ass can get 10 years in jail. There is nothing in the text about any other kind of websites or forums and it is mostly aimed at child sex trafficking which is a huge problem.

Yes, although it is highly coincidental that reddit and youtube launched a major censorship spree today.

Can you clarify on what exactly is being undermined by the amendment? The new language only applies to sex trafficking offenses. Not "types of speech." The language is very specific. Little room for interpretation or abuse imo.

https://www.congress.gov/115/bills/hr1865/BILLS-115hr1865pcs.pdf

It is a breech of free speech, m8. Prostitution is already illegal. It is a stepping stone, and has been claimed as such openly.

It's a breech of free speech how? In what part of the amendment language do you see that?

Craigslist already shut down their personals section because they don't have the resources to find and remove every single ad for escort services. They already had community moderating for it, but that's not good enough under the new standard and they aren't willing to take the risk. This will affect all social media and dating sites. It probably means the end of free dating sites, as current dating sites will need to invest millions in moderating infrastructure and approve every post individually before it can be approved.

Sites like Facebook have the resources and money to deal with harsher moderation and occasional lawsuits, but smaller players will have to shut down.

It's not coincidence, it's Reddit just loving censoring.
It's as if Reddit is totes ok with this, they're just mad that they aren't the onpl one allowed to control the net.

they created a new account just for this because they knew it would get slammed by downvotes.

What is the name of the account and how will that stop Reddit from banning this new board and subsequent boards?

https://www.reddit.com/r/titor/comments/865o3v/to_be_parasympathetically_averted_transform_hate/ … To be parasympathetically averted transform Hate into the social singularity.

to much nazis

I noticed that, but you have to take the good with the bad. That is how free speech works.

I don't like the asshole at the other end of the bar, but I'm sure he doesn't like me, and that is ok, as long as no one selectively kicks one of us out.

I noticed that, but you have to take the good with the bad. That is how free speech works.

or you can just pick a platform that isn't infested with nazis

I rather have a platform filled with scumbags than one where I might get censored. But that is just me. I don't want to live in a 1984 Orwellian world where wrong-think is punished.

Right - because we didn't fight an entire war suppressing Nazi aggression and ideology or anything. Clearly we just needed sit down at the table with Hitler and have a nice discussion. How soon people forget.

The Nazi were the ones burning books and censoring speech, not the allies.

And they did that to further the aims of their competing and abhorrent ideologies, as any nation or society will do to protect its own. Unfortunately their ideologies weren't conducive with the rest of the modern progressive world, so guess what, they lost. They didn't lose because they burned books, they lost because their ideologies were rotten and the rest of the world got together and said "fuck that".

"Free-speech" has never been the issue - not all ideologies deserve an audience or equal platform, especially in a democratic society where we decide as people whether those things have any merit. Have you actually read 1984? It's a commentary on individualism in a totalitarian state, not necessarily the individual tools the state employs to hold its power, and if all you focused on was one or two things like censorship (especially if you're trying to apply that out of context of the book) then you completely missed the point of the book.

Allowing droves of Nazis and idiots to spout their ideologies into group-think echo-chambers and meme themselves into false narratives which don't reflect the real world is EXACTLY how individualism dies.

First ammendment has worked out decent enough so far.

Assholes can say what they want, and we can call them out and expose them as assholes.

Also, you have your history wrong. We didn't take out the Nazi because of what they were doing, we took them out because they started taking over the countries of our soon to be allies. We were not interventionist as a country until then.

Since when is the first amendment without limitation? You realize censorship is allowed in privately hosted forums such as this, which is what the root of this thread is about, right? I didn't say we need to pass laws prohibiting Nazi ideology - it's on us as a society to shut down those threats which aren't conducive with our society - so it sounds like you agree with me there. Hence, Reddit is taking action in accordance with their ideals and the ideals they feel best reflect that of the society they're participating in. What's the gripe then?

And really - I have history wrong with respect to the Nazis? Are you familiar with Lebensraum? Are you familiar at all with the racial ideology driving the expansionist policy and why it eventually came to a head where everyone said, "Uh no. You're done."? Doesn't surprise me since if you're not, since Putin basically did the same shit with Crimea and no one batted an eye.

Reddit was censoring already. What new censorship did they add?

As long as I can get weather and porn and wiki I don't really care. I'm sick of the fucking internet. It consums my every day Life. I'm glued to my phone. Its so fucking unhealthy. The internet is a cancer. Did you forget you live in a capitalist society?

Time for freenet , ipfs, zeronet, maidsafe and tor to become more popular.

zeronet

I'm happy to say that my company's experiments in a few rather large companies (think 100+ employees) have paid off with an adaptation of this technology. There are some problems with the tech, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. All I can say is we're creating decentralized management systems that work under high load. Can't describe the details for obvious reasons.

I hope people will take this as a signal to rapidly develop wireless capabilities and offer people a plug and play solution to become a node in the network other people connect to. This would work perfectly with cryptocurrencies where you get paid based on the usage of your node. As with all new tech, it would be expensive at first but the costs would drop rapidly with each new attack on your internet freedom.

From the PR point, I'd provoke more attacks that can be spun as an attack on tech investors so that there's more justification and greater abundance of money to develop it asap.

+1!

Land of the free.

If my understanding around this is correct can't we use this to take down FB and YouTube for harboring pedorings?

Don't get me wrong I am not for the censorship that will follow but now might be the chance to strike. Thoughts?

No one is complaining about this bill other than 8chan but, WE HAVE TO SAVE NET NUETERALITY!

i think this might be a turning point for reddit and probably the best opportunity a competitor has to step in and offer what reddit isn't.

This is simply insane.

Couldn't this site ban whatever they wanted before? Reddit is a private company. They can ban whatever they want without the permission of the government.

Yes. But there is a huge difference between a private company moderating their forums and the government essentially mandating that they do.

Regardless there is no moderation exemption in this law. If someone, somewhere, uses Reddit to facilitate prostitution, the site could be in a world of hurt.

+5 I'm All in.

Bastards shut down swapsell for Kratom. Great community. The regular internet is slowly closing down shop and has been.

Looks like I'm deleting Facebook and Reddit in the same day then.

Here is the issue the problem isn't corrupt government or corporations it is the government and corporations that are the problem.

Remember when Reddit was all "net neutrality" this and "free internet" that? Remember when everyone (including Reddit) was loudly preaching that this kind of stuff would come from the telecom companies? I remember. I definitely remember.

Remember when they Aaron Swartz died? So did reddit.

But it has not been signed into law...yet.

I love that Net Neutrality was plastered all over every subreddit but this doesn't even get a peep of attention until is already passed.

"Daddy, what did you do during the Second American Revolution?"

Craigslist just took down all of their personals due to FOSTA.

I'd bet /r/dirtyr4r and all the r4r sites will be taken down. The law reads pretty cleanly that a fine, a prison term of up to 10 years, or both—on a person who, owns, manages, or operates an interactive computer service (or attempts or conspires to do so) to promote or facilitate the prostitution of another person.

Can Reddit state that 100% of all R4R type posts don't promote prostitution? I would bet they'll be like CraigsList who writes... US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!

It is a sad fucking day for sluts in the USA. The Handmaids Tail is next. OMFG!!

why the hell isn't this being talked about anywhere else

Yeah, something like that. Hard to prevent. Could be prevented in bitcoin, but not e.g. in Etherium.
