If Russians meddling in our politics is taboo then you other foreigners need to stop doing it too. It doesn't matter if we have a history of friendly relations or not. Stop pushing your globalist propaganda.

How can people who are not citizens of the US seriously complain about Russian influence in our elections when they are doing the exact same thing?

We already knew foreign governments didn't like Trump before we elected him. Obviously Canada has something to lose here if Trump scraps NAFTA (please do!) So stay the fuck out of our business.

Are there people arguing that we should ignore some countries (other than Russia) who are meddling in our politics? All I've seen is people who are calling it out and agree its a problem in all cases and people who defend Russia's meddling for some reason. Who is defending Canada or Israel or anyone else?

Well the Canadians for one seem to think they get a special vote in our policies because "it effects their country what we do here" as if that's not the case for Russia also.

More on that, this particular user even participates in the /russialago sub and is clearly obsessed with US politics.

Someone having an opinion on this sub is hardly meddling in our politics. But why are you bringing this into a new thread if its about this one poster? This seems pointless and like you're trying to get attention and make a point that doesn't need making.

Because that OP wasn't specifically about this subject. This OP is specifically about this subject but thanks for dutifully derailing it by changing the subject.

How have I changed the subject? My point was that if you only have one example, which isn't even what you're claiming, it seems petty to bring it to a new post.

Don't participate in my post then.

lol! Get out of my sandbox!

If he's just going to bitch about it then yes... Buzz off.

Ha! You get so mad each time you post. You probably put on a bird mask and rant on youtube videos.

show me where on a tv news show they even talk about political influence by Israel

But that's not what this post is about, per flytape's own comments.

you asked who is "defending" such things - it's the 99% of mass media. Either explicitly, or implicitly by pretending it doesn't exist.

Where did I say this can't be about Israel?

America is a free country, which means anyone, including foreigners, can come here to lobby the government or give their opinions on US politics.

What they can't do is give money or value to campaigns, illegally hack into the private computer systems of political candidates and release their communications, or hack into into state election databases -- which Russia is accused of doing.

It's also an additional concern when commentary isn't just foreign people giving opinions, but an intelligence operation by a foreign government using fraudulent accounts to try and drive US public opinion and by extension leadership and policy decisions. I'm not sure how the law shakes out on that.

Would having a foreign national as campaign advisor have any value to a campaign?

I mean, there are millions of non-Americans who are good at their jobs, so sure.

So if a Russian foreign national was a campaign advisor for a Republican, then I bet reddit would just be OK with that, right? There are campaign advisors that travel the globe and work for the campaigns in numerous different countries. I guess it is bad of me to think that you should be a US citizen in order to be a campaign advisor?

They are also not allowed to protest.

>How can people who are not citizens of the US seriously complain about Russian influence in our elections when they are doing the exact same thing?

Because people are idiots.

Hostile State interference is equal to hiring a private investigation? No. That's dumb. Try again.

Whaaaaaaaaauauaua?

I am pretty sick of all the globalist propaganda trying to get me to care about Syria or Israel.

I'd like to know why people are ok with foreign nationals voting in any elections?

Trump isn't going to do shitall because Trump is literally brain-dead. Anyone who knows anything about the American system could tell you it doesn't matter who is President, because all of the power has been delegated to unelected bodies of various sorts. It is well known that congresspeople don't even read the laws they are passing.

OP is a fascist troll and we all should know what needs to be done with fascists, but still - it doesn't matter if the dumbass puppet wins or loses. Trump, Le Pen, Farage, and their ilk are painfully predictable, and put up intentionally because the rulers want people to believe the choice is between our incompetent wannabe-technocratic elite and the most retarded form of fascism ever known to man. Since the fascists and technocrats don't have a real substantive difference in their stance towards everyone else, it's win-win for both groups, and the ruling class loves having legions of dumbfuck rightwingers who can be manipulated into doing anything, into killing anyone.

Except actual fascist rise to power making promises to actual dumbfucks that they will get free shit. And after we put down the actual fascist, the dumb fucks keep trying to rewrite history and pretend like the fascism grew out of anything other than a collectivist utopian promise.

Just like Hitler, just like Stalin, just like Venezuela.

Meanwhile capitalism has actually reduced global poverty and provided real opportunity for billions of people instead of purging them because it's too difficult.

Fuck you and have a great day.
