You should watch Phillip K. Dick's "Electric Dreams." It hits on many topics in the conspiracy rhelm.

Ive been watching this and every episode hits on things that are in the conspiracy rhelm. Controlled terrorism, spying, AI, parallel realities, and so on. People don't know the tactics of mass control and this show is a good way to bring up those topics. It is similar to Black Mirror. I've found its a good way to compare modern things to a digestible reference even though its sci-fi. Tell me what you think!

The book is dated, but pretty fantastic as well.

All of Phillip K dick is good. He had the CIA and FBI raid his house bc he was on point. Dick's child was sick with a rare illness and he told the doctors what it was, and was right. Dick claimed a pink light from space sent him the knowledge.

Read his Exegesis

He was a heavy amphetamine user though, msy explain the hallucinations

Check out this rolling stone article he did. He said his body didn't absorb the Amphetamine...

That is complete bull shit. Why would he take them then?

Habit. Read the article...

Dude i did, its just one line saying that he claimed they had no affect on him. Not exactly proof of anything.

The article even says that's just him at his bullshitting best.

Damn, that article you linked had a lot of backstory about the break in. What’s interesting to me is the part on pg 8 about a military grade drug that was on the street, and how PKD had a creepy military guy hanging around him at the time.

Earlier in the article Phil mentioned how he brought 11 people to the mental hospital in an 18 month period. Was PKD in the middle of some mkultra shit?

I always thought he was. His stories all stay relevant and hollywood making loads of his writings into movies is huge....

He believed the feds broke into his home several times. And only his manuscripts were stolen. He also said that the break ins stopped when Nixon was out of office.

Who cares

I dont care that he enjoyed speed, i have too. I agree that his books are good and he wad some very interesting ideas.

I brought up amphetamines bc he claimed that a purple light from space told him what was wrong with son. I am saying that was probally a hallucination from the speed.

Dick seemed to have somewhat of a messiah complex.

Eh he did have some interesting experiences. He managed to predict that his newborn son had an inguinal hernia. How the hell do you do that?

I dont know man that is pretty wild but i just dont think a purple space light literally enlightening him is the answer

You can accept the crazy reality of his prediction, but not the other crazy thing?

Google "Akashic Records" and "Edgar Cayce".

He has a whole bit about how he might have been the one that broke into his house. A Very PKD explanation of PKD by PKD.

Did the guy who wrote the book make the show? I wanna get the book

He died in 1982, but was quite an author, look him up and you'll probably recognize titles of several other shows and movies.

You think death would stop him? You don't know the man. :)

I have read the book recently, will wait for blu-ray or dvd before I watch the TV show, whenever they decide to release it, hopefully it's not so long of a wait like Black Mirror season 3 was.

Electric sheep is a wild read, makes both the Bladerunner movies look a little sad.

Electric Dreams, not Electric Sheep.

It's actually, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

The TV show is Electric Dreams.

The comment you were responding to:

Electric sheep is a wild read, makes both the Bladerunner movies look a little sad.

Given that that person was responding to the original post regarding "Electric Dreams," I thought they might have been confusing this post being about Electric Dreams with Electric Sheep. Because without that misunderstanding the comment was tangential.

makes both the Bladerunner movies look a little sad

Should have been the first tip off, but whatever.

I'm a big fan of PKD. I was not a fan of the little bit of Electric Dreams I saw. I find Black Mirror to be fantastic. Is there any of Electric Dreams in particular that I should give a second chance to?
