Could the Conspiracy be Reddit, Itself?

1  2018-05-08 by Kendle_C

A lot of the comments here are from ugly hating son's of bitches. Overall, writing under a false name, anonymously, without consequences or exposure of the true self, this "Reddit" unleashes the writer from responsibility for ones own words. It is therefore tipped toward evil, rot, corruption, vanity, aggression, vile thoughts, degradation. Everyone is braver standing behind a stone wall. You might say Reddit is to writing as pornography is to procreation. Conclusion: articles that tend to elevate in this venue are doomed to be turned vile and unwholesome.

"Do not cast your pearls before swine for they will stamp them into the mud then turn and rend you."

Now sit back and watch the comments I get for this.

Are you new to the internet?

Get to it, boy.

Get to what? I asked a genuine question.

You are completely without aggression in your vailed implication that I am child-like, innocent, a babe in the woods. Do you ask your doctor immediately on greeting, "Are you new to medicine?" Do you ask your car mechanic, "Did you just finish auto shop?" It is clear that you used your opener in the fashion of pushing the button on your switchblade.

😂geez! It was a definate possibility. Even if you werent young, not everyone has access to internet. So I genuinely wondered if you were new to the idea. Did not mean to make you feel as though I was physically assaulting you with a switchblade. My apologies m'lady.

You hadn't stuck it in yet but you put a hole in my shirt with your "m'lady". Am I supposed to add a cockney accent in your role as Stabby the Clown?

You're pretty creative! You should check out r/writingprompts r/nosleep etc.

Thanks, you've been taken out of the pigpen.

Thanks. It was stinky in there!

You are probably right in quite a number of cases.

But i have to say that in the 18 months that i've been using r/conspiracy, i have had maybe 5 or 6 incidents that left me a little angry but those users are clearly pulling the same shit on other threads (and certain other subs) and are fairly obvious and easy to avoid now.

Generally most of the people I converse with, are quite polite and are able to discuss opposing views to their own, without throwing their shit at me.

However, I do not venture into other areas of reddit.

Fuck the wholesome movement. It's censorship v0.5. Yin Yang mother fucker.

Thanks for the example.

Wow. Your username seems to check out.

Transsexual Victorianism

Is this a junior college AI experiment?

😂

What are you asking, exactly?

If you need wholesome, go find some goddamn "Little House on the Prairie" reruns. How about just leaving the adults to talk about the bloodshed going on in Israel, since it seems to irk your delicate sensibilities.

One more for the pigpen. I'm going to run a total at the end.

How tight are your panties?

No need to go on, I can't count you twice.

there were far too many independent forum around, here comes reddit - One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

Discussions about conspiracies are, by their nature, not wholesome. The subjects being discussed are, for the most part, incompatible with your expectations. This is not the sub for wholesomeness.

The intent of the follower of conspiracy is to expose corruption. By descending into unbridled aggression, hiding behind your avatar, the discussion devolves into a Lord of the Flies free-for-all. Truth is the victim. I'd say most here use the sub as a pressure relief valve for being forced to act nice, be polite, be conciliatory in the real world. Example: One spends all day being polite as a barista and explodes on Reddit. It doesn't mitigate their own slavery but allows them to symbolically strike back. The truth suffers in this hormonal soup.

What are you suggesting? Dox everyone?

Also, it’s fine that this is your perspective of a “conspiracy follower”. It’s certainly not just that for me and unlikely that most will fall into your specific characteristics list.

There are some assholes here, for sure, but I’ve found that if you just keep your cool and keep replying respectfully and to the point (don’t fall into the name calling and insults trap) they usually cool down too, and the vast majority of regular sub participants are very well mannered and will have no problem agreeing to disagree.

You can’t change people, man, keep yourself up to your standards and if others don’t, move along.

Agreed. I'm coming to the conclusion that the internet is exactly the wrong venue to expose conspiracies. Think about it. Say you have solid evidence, they ask source, you give it. The actual conspiracists now erase the source. We show them where the leaks are, a team effort, they scour and scrub and debase. Also, against them the anonymity is not safe. Say you are the source do they scrub you?

You aren't wrong.

Some people are just rudderless, spiteful children who think the most crude insult is a powerful rebuke worthy of respect.

They are a drag on whatever communities their unjustifiably bloated egos attach themselves to.

Can't allow the perpetual tantrum babies to keep you from learning and sharing.

Remember this is conspiracy. And by its very nature it’s going to upset some people. Those people that get upset throw stones at those revealing the truth or at least attacking them. And so a fight begins. It is just the way of the world in writing form is all.

One more for the pigpen. I'm going to run a total at the end.

No need to go on, I can't count you twice.
