yanny , depending on how you change the base youll hear laurel or yanny

What is this?

It sounds like two voices at the same time. At first I heard the high pitched Yanni and then the low pitched Laurel. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose I'd choose Laurel.

That’s sort of the point though right? It’s both. There’s no choice to make. You can hear and accept both. It’s how you choose to view/hear it. There’s no choice to make.

Decent metaphor for the times, no?

You're definitely right about that

Similarly, there are some people that just cant “hear” the other side. Even when you tell them to listen for the other, try as they might, they are almost incapable of hearing the other side.

Damn, this metaphor is actually the balls.

It’s a distraction

something is fishy about this. It says Laurel pure and simple

I'm hearing laurel now

Shit's had me paranoid all day, thinking there might be some weird subliminal shit they're trying to get people to listen to over and over

Right all these viral sensationalists are now manchurian candidates. Wait till they hear the rosebud signal if you didnt hear the right one you are gonna die....or was that become a killer?

I understand it’s meant to be Laurel, but depending on if you hear higher or lower frequency, one might hear Yanny instead.

What’s driving me insane is this morning all I could only hear Yanny. Now, in the afternoon, all I can hear is Laurel.

So strange

my buddy and i who heard it differently originally, different device and it flip flopped for us....weird and cool.

I can hear both, I just have to focus on the high or the low noises

I heard it earlier and all I heard was Yanny

Just another way to divide people. Social media Psyop.

Ignore it.

thats what i'm starting to think.

Its something weird at least. Not in terms of division though.

Not weird at all if you have studied sound theory. It is like those science experiments you show fourth graders where the color of the flame changes. It awes them, but it is fairly simple when you understand it.

Unlike last time (Blue dress gold dress = serve divorce papers) People at large are seeming to wise up, or at least scientifically minded people are listing data to explain the phenomenon early on.

Laurel. thats what i hear. I don't hear Yanni at all.

I had to look this up because I didn't know what you were talking about.

Okay, I hear Laurel.

Context for another who is out if the loop?

Here is a 1 minute video that explains it and plays the audio. You either hear Laurel or Yanny.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbjnIK6VEjc

Audio clip comes from vocabulary.com and the reading of the word....... laurel.

It’s the damn dress again

The audio clip is made from an online dictionary pronunciation of the word laurel. I believe that the clip has been altered fo filter out the synthesized voice and make the upper harmonics more audible, thus the confusion. I hear it as yanni, but if I go to the dictionary and click the little speaker next to the word, I hear a low voice say laurel, with a higher pitched "whisper" of yanni. Check it out:

never heard laurel still, gonna 420 later and check again
