Hmm. Media playback on my phone pauses itself randomly for no reason pretty frequently, but I hadn't considered that might have been a nefarious reason why. And not just the media stopping, I mean the software says that the video has been paused and it will not start again until I press play. I watch a lot of YouTube videos, and I figured that the pausing was happening for the same reason Netflix pauses playback and forces you to click a button saying "I'm still watching." As an anti-botting thing or something.

I use my phone a lot though and I wouldn't expect that they'd "need" to do that to see me. I've also been keeping my cameras completely covered lately, and I didn't notice any increase or decrease in the frequency of my random media pausing. You might think if they were trying to use my camera to look at me that blocking the camera would have an effect on the frequency of that happening.

The punk movement always had a level of control on it. Have you heard the stories about what went in to the production of the Sex Pistols only studio album? It's a great album, but it's weird to think that they're taken seriously at all considering how manufactured and corporate it all was. Their bassist couldn't even play the instrument and doesn't even appear on their only album.

Ultimately, I'd say it's just controlled opposition. If the young peoples revolutionaries are controlled, you can limit what kinds of "revolutionary" behaviors that the masses will partake in.
