How did a news article - that does not pertain, in any shape or form, to a conspiracy- hit the front page with so many upvotes? Is this r/conspiracy or r/news? Why are so many non-conspiracy posts allowed to exist in a conspiracy forum?
Stay tuned while we witness nothing get done

CEMEX
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Care to elaborate?
1 WhydoesNASAlie 2018-06-04
I jumped Into the conspiracy this morning but it appears there is some real fucked up shit going on in AZ that is going to tie a lot of shit together. CEMEX is the name of the company involved in this conspiracy. Most likely lots of benign content is being pushed to the top to prevent another PG-like pursuit of information amongst us common folk
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Probably so. I get suspicious any time the subs number jump past 4,000 current users.
1 WhydoesNASAlie 2018-06-04
You should be, good pattern recognition. Call it out every time you see it. The fight is over new users. Can’t have all of us looking into things together
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
There's power in numbers.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
If you are talking about the NBC/Trump post, that just happens to be the largest conspiracy since the collapse of the economy and prior to that the Iraq war and prior to that 9/11.
Were those conspiracies covered in the news? When did something being covered in the news stop it from being a conspiracy?
The 2016 election was a conspiracy. Some claim the investigation into that conspiracy is a conspiracy so, that article is definitely about a conspiracy.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
"Trump believes he can pardon himself"
Such a conspiracy.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
Trump obtained the presidency via a conspiracy that is what he wants to pardon himself from.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
That's debatable.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
That is what he wants to pardon himself for or that he is the product of a conspiracy or that there is a conspiracy against him.
Looks like a lot of conspiracy material in the Trump Presidency, the stolen Supreme Court seat and the TeaPublican majority Congress.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Trump actually said he wouldn't pardon himself because he's "done nothing wrong", so...where is the conspiracy again?
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
I don't think that is resolved, the "done nothing wrong," thing.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Well, for two and a half years now, nothing has happened to Trump. Sure, he had crooked people in his campaign, and the failure to disclose certain meetings or campaign contributions raises an eyebrow. If they found information on those people, but not on Trump within the given time, will they find it on him? Highly unlikely.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
We have not choice but to wait for the conclusion of the investigations.
What do you think about the activities of Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr.? The various people who have resigned or been fired from the White House Staff.
Manafort was his campaign manager until his contacts with the Russians were made public he is arrested and the trial while currently delayed is in progress.
The rumors say Roger Stone will be the next arrested.
Do you really think that whole story is made up?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Enjoy the read of Manafort and Gates indictments, and notice how it relates to money-laundering
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
That does not exclude their role in the campaign.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
That's what they're being arrested for. I don't see how money-laundering could win the election.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
What if that money went from Russia, to the NRA, to the Republicans?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Money is important, no doubt about it. Hillary, also, had money. Trump might have had more, but the fact is: She got destroyed in the electoral votes. She didn't know how to play the game.
1 ClassicFives 2018-06-04
In what way is the president saying he can pardon himself not a conspiracy? That means he (or any future president) could commit literally any crime while in office with no repercussions.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Surely you can look up the definition of conspiracy on the side bar of this sub....
1 ClassicFives 2018-06-04
Surely you can look in any dictionary and see there’s more than one definition to many words, conspiracy included.
Either way, even if it’s not in secret, in what way is what I said not worth discussing? The president is literally claiming to be above the law and you just want to pretend it’s normal?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Nice deflection.
It's not worth discussing because:
A: He said he wouldn't pardon himself. B: His lawyers said he could, but others are saying the Constitution prevents him from doing it.
1 ClassicFives 2018-06-04
You’re using semantics to defend your point and I’m deflecting?
And even better, it’s not worth discussing because he says so?
Are you even reading what you’re sayin
But fine, I’ll ask as a hypothetical. Is the president above the law?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
I was just pointing you to a conspiracy definition and how it doesn't fit.
I won't fall for this distraction which is what this is intended to be. Hasn't this happened a hundred times before? He's a reality star. He knows how to drum up ratings. Trump says something, media and everyone freak out, rinse, and repeat.
Nope, that would make him a dictator.
1 ClassicFives 2018-06-04
Okay so your argument boils down to I don’t want to talk about this, nobody should? Who are you to say what is appropriate to be posted?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
You sound like a terrible cook if you can't even boil /s.
I never said that. I said news related articles should be in r/news. Discuss it all you want. Also, you assume I am only talking about Trump and him pardoning himself. This is what you and u/daysOFdelusion are assuming, which is laughable. It's, also, exactly what the media wants from you. Focus on this while we obfuscate *that*. Y'all played yourselves.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
I don't think that is rational, refusing to discuss something because it is linked to a fucking Comcast vehicle. Though I like lower level sources, this quote is being passed along by all sources.
I made no assumptions beyond what you put in your comment and what is it we are suppose to not be noticing right now, the NK fiasco, the China,EU, NA trade wars?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
You'll have to dumb down your comment for me. I don't see how it's relatable.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
Sorry, Comcast owns all the NBCs and have for several years now.
Lower level source, something like slate, salon, washington monthly, and trade publications like wired, etc.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Ah. Well, that's not what I was saying. I believe anything and everything should be discussed. I don't think r/conspiracy is the proper medium for news-related discussions.
Think of it like a magic show. Redirection throughout the entire act building up to the real trick.
1 daysOFdelusion 2018-06-04
Are you seeking nominations to be the director of r/conspiracy?
1 Rayfloyd 2018-06-04
Because we can't compete with the shill's vote farms
Plain and simple
This is not the problem, and it wasn't the other 57 times people have come in to ask
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Mods could remove them, no?
1 Rayfloyd 2018-06-04
How do you propose mods remove an army of accounts who come here to control the votes?
The issue was brought up to admins but nothing happened, so we just gotta deal with it I guess
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
It'd be impossible to do that. There should be stronger moderation of links that are posted.
1 Rayfloyd 2018-06-04
But the problem is not the links?
Vote manipulation is the problem
If you don't fix that, the situation won't change as your preferred links will not reach the frontpage
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
It's a mixture of both. I suppose a shitty way to prevent it is to start over, let people join within a specific period, then close off admission.
1 Zap_Powerz 2018-06-04
Not with out literally thousands of assholes showing up screeching about censorship.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
A redirection to the appropriate sub could be a good remedy, but even that would be met with monkey screeches.
1 TheMadQuixotician 2018-06-04
Monkey screeches about safe spaces most particularly

REEEEEEEEE MY FEEEEEELINGS
1 Reign_Wilson 2018-06-04
A conspiracy theory is just that, a theory. Many Americans believe Donald Trump received material help from a foreign power to win the Presidency. That is a conspiracy theory.
The President has today confirmed that he has been considering the legality of pardoning himself. An important aspect of this theory is how Donald Trump will handle his pardoning powers.
That’s why it’s inportant to many (not all) in this sub.
1 Rayfloyd 2018-06-04
No? Stop peddling fake news, he said he could, not that he would
Unless you have evidence suggesting he'll do it?
1 Reign_Wilson 2018-06-04
A public statement regarding the legality of pardoning himself is literally confirmation that he has been considering the legality of pardoning himself.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
I'm not arguing against your first point.
If he's allowed to, then hopefully his base will pick up on that, and he will be impeached.
This is almost the same argument for him not paying taxes. Everyone was upset he didn't pay taxes for so many years, yet he followed the rules that were in place that allowed him to not pay them. I don't see how it's a conspiracy for someone to use the law to its full ability.
1 Reign_Wilson 2018-06-04
People have been speculating how Trump will treat his pardoning powers. It’s important to the whole conspiracy. If Donald Trump believes he has the power to pardon himself does that mean investigators will focus on state crimes to avoid a Constitutional crisis? Will investigators push the issue? It’s facsinating.
A year ago, there was speculation that Trump was considering the legality of pardoning himself. Many on the right wrote off the reports as fake news, Trump confirmed those reports today.
It’s all relevant.
1 Imma_trigger_you 2018-06-04
The disgusting part of this whole ordeal is the possibility that the MSM is right.
That's why everything is just fucked. They are still objectively bad at their jobs. Instead of covering real issues they talked about Roseanne for days and days. Even Republicans came to the defense of and posted their MSM articles defending her.
1 Orin_Starblazer 2018-06-04
I can only suggest to be the change you want to see, because you'll wait forever on others if ya don't.
1 RedYagoda 2018-06-04
It was an organized brigade, probably Shareblue or whatever they call themselves these days.
1 vanwilderdoesntfuck 2018-06-04
I love stupid political shit that gets upvoted. I'm a cop and also gay.
1 theawesomethatis 2018-06-04
Why is it always new users who come and concern troll about how TERRIBLE things are and tell us what we should do?
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Not new
1 Imma_trigger_you 2018-06-04
Look, I'm not saying you're doing it on purpose, but this is classic gatekeeping my dude.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
I keep hearing this term. What exactly is gatekeeping?
1 Imma_trigger_you 2018-06-04
It's meant to refer that you would like to only see a certain type of content on the forum.
So you're "gatekeeping" about the topics that should be approved on this subreddit.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Ohhh, I see. Well, it is a conspiracy sub, but much of the content is news driven.
1 Imma_trigger_you 2018-06-04
I understand. I see some things that I don't think belongs here but I just try to make a comment to participate in some way with someone's view of what a conspiracy theory is.
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
That's a better way to approach it. I can see now that my effort was misplaced and for nought.
1 Herculius 2018-06-04
You're not allowed to express opinions on the content of the subreddit now.
When did this orwellian phrase get some special status as a rule? Did I miss the memo?
1 The-B-sharps 2018-06-04
Why didn’t you just title your post State of this Sub.
It’s like writing “ASAP (as soon as possible)” except nobody is going to use SOTS
1 3attheelephant 2018-06-04
Parody of state of the union....lol
1 The-B-sharps 2018-06-04
Oh lol
