For those who want this subreddit to return its focus to a space less inundated with politics, please spend some time in the new queue. The reddit algorithm gives more weight to those who vote in the new queue, and only in that way will the subreddit be able to reflect non-political content.

1  2018-06-21 by AssuredlyAThrowAway

I realize that it can sound like a broken record, constantly harping on about the importance of the new queue and such; however, it cannot be emphasized enough that we all, as a subreddit, must be the change that we want to see in this community.

So please, if you would like to see more variety in which topics are being covered on this subreddit, please spend some time in the new queue- https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/new/

In fact, some even set their browser homepage to the new queue as a way to establish a habit of visiting that queue.

All too often, as redditors, we can fall into the trap of only voting from the hot queue. This, in turn, reduces the cogency of content on the subreddit as insipid content, with eye catching headlines, will slowly swallow whole the board as if a conflagration.

As the nature of a user curated aggregate is rooted in user voting, and recognizing the endless attacks against this subreddit by outside groups, only through an increase in activity in the new queue can organic users hope to reclaim this space from those factions (on all sides and from every view point) attempting to utilize this space as a battleground.

This is not in any way to suggest that political conspiracies should be downvoted (as they are obviously quite important in light of current dynamics worldswide), but rather that the soul of this subreddit is truly those who spend time in the new queue.

Furthermore, for those wondering what kind of content hides in the new queue (simply waiting to be discovered) take a look at one of the greatest posts in the history of our community- https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/1cm0t3/original_research_the_mountain_of_evidence_for_a/

Thanks for taking the time to read through these thoughts and see you all in the new queue :).

This sub jumped the shark in 2016 and the astroturf for 2020 has only just begun...

Jesus...Your right. I don't even want to think of 2020...

Get ready for Tulsi "CFR" Gabbard vs Trump 2020. Another puppet show of epic proportions.

No way. We're winning. Look at threads. The hate is all in the collapsed comments. Keep it up everyone. Downvote the hate. Upvote the love.

This. 10/10.

"We". Uh huh.

"we"

The people who want capitalism to fail.

Keep America Great.

I don't think you're promoting love. "Keep America Great" is the hateful Trump's campaign slogan for 2020.

Found the illegal!

I'm not as illegal as Russia's puppet, Trump.

Bernout Blownout!

This sub has been manipulated as long as I've been here, which is as long as this account.

ive been around 2009/2010 it wasnt that bad until the occupy wallstreet stuff really picked up. the difference b/w now and then is crazy.

r/conspiracy helped to unite multiple dissident factions in an extremely effective push back against the establishment media's narrative. As a consequence, The Black Hole of Fuckery is finally cracking ... and it's full of lying spies.

More or less every conspiracy theorist can hope to find confirming evidence for his/her/nonbinary conspiracy theory as the tendrils of The Steele Fuckup uproot the establishment.

Now who on earth would want to miss that?

Now who on earth would want to miss that?

This.

Well said! Thank you!

The new queue is where anything that incriminates NASA goes to die.

Fake terror conspiracies are generally political anyway

I think you guys should sticky a post telling users to browse by new like this once in a while.

Also, my advice to users over here is not pay that much attention to news unless they are truly conspiracy related. Rather, search for corruption cases involving politicians, corporations or organizations. These aren't conspiracy theories but rather historical/factual conspiracies. These are usually my most upvoted posts.

They can always out-brigade any natural voting anyways.

But this way we still see it

Ding ding ding!

Yes, nothing the users of the sub can do will outpace the resist nuggets.

The mods are abdicating their responsibilities by allowing this place to go the way /politics did.

Feel free to hit us with solutions..

Dont believe them. We're making a lot of progress. These shills are being exposed and downvoted. Punish them for their hate and divisiveness. Downvote these chumps. We're taking this bitch back.

These shills are being exposed and downvoted.

Can you point to one definite exposure, or are you making accusations based on your feelings?

I think the subreddit would be a friendlier place without the vitriol against other users.

Cry about it shill.

Cry about it shill.

A good start would be to recognize that people like this will support you in watching the sub die as long as you're doing all the wrong things or at least not doing the right things.

They'll pretend like the rot we all see is actually "progress" and that they give a shit about the community beyond ensuring it isn't a platform for people they disagree with to congregate.

In reality the sub is becoming MSMplus where the plus represents a departure from the MSM's policy of pretending like they don't want the US to fail and become "that other European country" complete with lacking free speech and an overbearing nanny state.

You know it as well as many Americans do. They want us to fail. All the policies and goals are designed to weaken and divide us, any departure from that is punished in the court of media opinion.

Are progressives being banned from Twitter and YouTube and deplatformed from speaking events?

Are insane people who claim there are 72 genders being mocked by the media or just reasonable people who speak out against blatantly deranged ideas?

Fair and equal application of the rules would be a start. Evidently saying someone who told me in a private message that they are IDF that they are IDF is a rules violation but me being called shill 10+ times isn't.

I don't care at all about being called a shill but if the rules is going to be in place it should be applied equally.

We can't verify what you were or were not said in PMs so if you called someone a JIDF shill it's gonna get cleaved.

Use the report function or Message The Mods for rule breaking comments.

Use the report function or Message The Mods for rule breaking comments.

As a test I did report at least 5 of them over the course of multiple days then monitored those comments via a script that checked on them ever 3 hours.

Not a single one was removed.

Again, I don't care about being called a shill but I did test out my hypothesis before I said anything. You can look and see how many people are worried about losing their accounts by saying anything about stuff like this and it should not be that way.

Link them here.

I know for a fact the mod queue has been completely clear on multiple occasions over the last few days.

It's possible, but unlikely. Show me what you got.

Linking them here would put me in violation of several of the rules on the sidebar which puts my access to /r/conspiracy at risk. Even if you say you will not do anything about those rules violations that promise isn't binding on any of the other mods so I literally have nothing to gain by doing so and can only lose in this situation.

Oh, so you can't back up your bullshit?

Yes I can. However you can't guarantee me protection if I do so the rational think for me to do is not provide the evidence and the rules are setup in such a way that these matters can not be discussed without breaking them.

I do have to ask why you used approached this the way you did instead of actually addressing my points.

It's tough to address points that are made up.

This is my weekend on the Board and if you'd like to link (or even PM me) the comments that have you all tossed up, I'd be happy to help.

But if you're going to backpedal and still whine, I'll just call bullshit and move on.

But if you're going to backpedal and still whine, I'll just call bullshit and move on.

Why can't you have an open discussion about this? Are the accusations of my lying and backpedaling really required?

Keep in mind that the rules you enforce prohibit me from giving you the information you request. These very same rules strictly limit my ability to respond to your accusations so what do you expect me to do?

Perhaps this sub needs to have an open thread where ANYTHING can be said and where new accounts are allowed to post?

you've been on reddit long enough to know there are mods that do shit like this all the time, and a brigade of those TMOR fuckwits who would pounce on this guy so his concerns are not unwarranted.

the fact that you are asking him to post it here publicly makes me question your own motives considering you should know better.

this was enlightening to read, sorry anyone had to be the guinea pig, dude.

yeah, no politics on the sub. done. but you won't have that, because the politics bots n shills are half of this sub's userbase.

How about an open new mod process. As in the complete opposite of how the most recent mods were chosen.

If amything, we have a few too many mods. Some of them are in varying stages of inactivity, from a few months to more than a year of reddit user activity and a few years of mod inactivity.

Despite this, I think the team we have now is something solid to build on someday, but I don't see us needing anything more than temporary help during the America midterm ramp up.

I didn’t ask for more mods. I asked for openess in how they were chosen.

Considering this batch being handselected and invited to a private sub that denied other users. It really creates questions and distrust.

I didn’t ask for more mods. I asked for openess in how they were chosen.

They were nominated by users and vetted by mods who then voted accordingly.

Considering this batch being handselected and invited to a private sub that denied other users. It really creates questions and distrust.

Questions and distrust are what /r/conspiracy is all about, so I am unsure of any actual point you are making.

The the mod selection was shady. Thats my point. It was shady and not up front at all.

Well, we have to do things a certain way around here with all the games and shenanigans going on.

The sub has improved in my opinion since some reforms have been put in (and we're not done) and I am happy with where we are going.

You may not like it, but it is working.

What about the new alts getting approval to post without meeting minimum account age requirements. Or is that not a rule any more?

Users are free to ask to be allowed to post and we encourage them to do so. Sometimes people like to separate their Conspiracy accounts from their regular accounts.

Rational and civil requests are responded to in kind.

See my other comment.

My only issue with this is that when users do follow the mod advice, browse the new queue, and downvote/report any clear shitposts, suddenly they're accused of brigading.

It won't even allow me to read comments on a thread about reddit admins throttling non official reddit apps on mobile, which it def is! In the last week alone I've never seen load times as long as I've had them, it's getting to be ridiculous

Yeah, no. Conspiracies are political by definition.

NWO globalism is the single greatest conspiracy of all times.

You are just another neoliberal shill who wants to suppress anti-globalist views and opinions.

What would you consider as a politics post or a post that is a conspiracy involving politics?

One where there isn't a conspiracy and it's just a literal news story that has the intent of pushing an agenda for the posters preferred political party and there's been a good few of them over the last week or two especially. Ofc politics is a big part of most of not all conspiracies but there needs to be a line between the posts that just shill for left/right and the posts that highlight some funky shit going on within a political stage at least thats how I feel about it

Yes I understand that. But I’m looking for more concrete guidelines

Yeah but like, I mean, come on

This sub was originally created to discuss political content (9/11)

It's starting to feel like r/politics around here.

I don't think you much time in /r/politics. Some threads get brigaded pretty bad but for the most part this sub is not even close.

Reddit died when free speech was culled on the day r/coontown and the like were nuked. I dont even agree with the place but a website based on voting and freedom of expression loses itself when even the most egregious opinions are deemed too dangerous to view

Go to voat. Reddit is dead, white man ;)

How can you separate politics from conspiracies?

You can't. This narrative is obviously trying to neuter the sub. Watch the users who make suggestions like this closely.

You can't. But a "conspiracy theory" being pushed by a mainstream political apparatus is not a conspiracy theory.

If the CIA itself is pushing a conspiracy theory, and people here accept it as truth and want to discuss it here, something is terribly, terribly wrong.

Thank you, I am aware. I was attempting to be a little bit tactful.

Gone are the days on /r/conspiracy where it can be assumed that the majority of your readers understand that (a) the CIA is deeply involved in domestic politics and (b) the CIA is not the "good guy" in this or any story.

There are no good guys, and there are no bad guys. There is only power.

I used to believe that and then I met bad guys. Guess what? There are good guys and bad guys (but most people are kinda gray and flat and somewhere in the middle).

By censoring. We're building up to a politics blackout in 2020 so crimes such as those perpetrated by Bush or DNC can't be exposed.

Yeah let's just talk about the DNC and Bush instead of the current administration!

That's cool I can handle political and non-political conspiracies. I can multitask, no need to anyone to censor my feed, myself included. RIP Prodigy

Important to remember:

Irony and sarcasm defeat bots there was a long post about this somewhere from a guy who programs deep learning algorithms.

Whatever you do avoid marking it with /s or any indication, better yet, use /s and “jk” in the wrong part

Those are the only ways that they are trying to train sarcasm.

Memes are especially easy to “hack”

This place is totally fucked. Even mentioning that this sub is compromised gets your comment/ post deleted regardless of how true or upvoted it is.

I understand that the political talk gets old, but it could easily be argued that there's no such thing as non-political conspiracy. Be the change we want, and if we want paranormal talk, then let's go repopulate the r/paranormal sub and be that change we keep hearing about. Don't try morphing this sub into something other than conspiracy, or I'm going to start smelling a conspiracy.

This place is totally fucked. Even mentioning that this sub is compromised gets your comment/ post deleted regardless of how true or upvoted it is.

...like half the comments in this thread?

Nice how you let all the ones here stay so that you can use them as an example of benevolence. But any where else. Gone, then mutes, then bans.

Yeah. Sure. Yep.

Great response. Thats the wonderful attitude that really helps out in this sub....

That doesnt endear anyone to the team and that doesnt make anyone think you are receptive to the community

Well, when I call out a user on their bullshit, and then you chime in with

yeah but everytim but this tim it doesn't happen

Without proving any of your claims (or OPs) I'll give you just as much consideration to you as you give to proving any points.

Im sorry i did t see you ask for any proof. Great snark though keep it up. Does wonders for earning respect.

...this thread was my proof.

Where's yours?

In mine and others removed comments.

...I just went back and didn't see anything removed from you for at least a week.

How far back do I have to go?

Well last week i reported a post and I was immediately muted.

The post violated two different sub rules. When i reported i was immediately muted by axlotl. Thats the most recent example.

...I just went back and didn't see anything removed from you for at least a week.

How far back do I have to go?

Selfpost with zero content

That link goes to an image post.

That is an image of the mute message. Which you said you couldnt find.

And no one is calling me out there except for the guy downvoted to NEGATIVE 35.

Whats interesting is think the extremely downvoted comment is the best example to point too...

But we have drifted and i dont want to violate any sub rules by going too far off topic in a thread or saying anything thag could be considered “attacking the sub, users, or moderation team”

That is an image of the mute message. Which you said you couldnt find.

Nope. Anove you said you had comments removed. This is not the case.

And no one is calling me out there except for the guy downvoted to NEGATIVE 35.

The link that is in your screenshot points to an image post. Rule 12 need not apply. In that thread, another user told you this (I just linked to it) and you obviously didn't comprehend it then (Because you still don't).

Whats interesting is think the extremely downvoted comment is the best example to point too...

What? The bullshit comment that is [deleted]? Why is that the best example? What are you even talking about?

But we have drifted and i dont want to violate any sub rules by going too far off topic in a thread or saying anything thag could be considered “attacking the sub, users, or moderation team”

Exactly. Your BS is called out, again, and it seems all you're here for is to shit on the sub and it's mods and now that you have been confronted on your BS you are trying to walk it back.

You are not as clever as you think.

Look partner. I think there is a misunderstanding. The user talking about rule twelve misunderstood the subject title of that mail. You can ask em. Ill even ask em and provide you context further if you prefer.

im not looking to become some pariah here. I enjoye dthe sub before it got so politicized to one side.

You are being unnecessarily aggressive here.

You've had a mod ear and eye all night and chose to waste it.

Complaining about getting a mute 5 days ago after innapropriately flagging a post as Rule 12 (instead of just using the report function), after already being told by other users that you are incorrect, is how you chose to justify throwing shade at the sub and modteam.

Remember that.

Again, there was only one user who questioned that. The significant majority supported my comment. The user you are citing is not saying what you are choosing to believe. I talked to that user.

You have t addressed my original or ongoing point at all which was openness in how the mods were selected and ongoing actions regarding questioning it or discussing it.

I can see though that you have decided something about me already and you will refuse to just have a discussion about my original point.

So now we advocate censoring of topics. I can't wait to see the less than 1 year old accounts telling us how they miss the old days. Fucking hell.

How is voting on content censorship?

Dont be dummb, if the conspiracies are mostly about everybody in power, we must keep this board open, this is blatant censorship

Unless you're willing to go full UFO, most conspiracies involve politicians or people in the top echelon of power.

I have no clue what you’re on about (in the sense of queuing on Reddit), yet it’s refreshing to see a group of people waiting for something in an orderly fashion to be referred to as a “queue”, not a “line”. The world does not revolve around the US. Which unfortunately jumps at you when you skim this subreddit.

Went to new. Nothing but politics.

Trump & Epstein lawsuit alleging rape.

Smells like censorship when stories about Trump and Epstien start leaking the rules change

a 2 year old lawsuit?

Here’s a thought

Remove the voting algorithm from political threads

But I want other people to decide what I read.

The reddit algorithm gives more weight to those who vote in the new queue

You learn something new everyday.

Now I'm wondering about why the algorithm is set up this way. Also wondering if the algorithm is set up so that downvotes in the new column have more weight too. why?

Because that would make it ever so easy for a 5 man shill team to boost or zap incoming posts before those posts ever make it from "new" to the front page of the sub.

So are submission statements supposed to be completely pointless? because i can point out like 5 i've seen in the past hour that, along with their entire post and articles submitted, have next to nothing to do with actual conspiracy and are simply political posts that want to do nothing other than bash liberals.

I always blame the user when my software doesn't work right.

But, all the best current conspiracies are definitely politics related

Take the recent OIG report, the removal of Peter Strzok & his recent subpoena.

Almost like, something big is coming and the mainstream media cannot get us to look away fast enough.

I'm done looking away.

i fail to see how this will or would work, when the same people could just manipulate the new queue the same way...

i mean i guess its good at least the mods have some faith this place is going to survive...

I didn’t ask for more mods. I asked for openess in how they were chosen.

Considering this batch being handselected and invited to a private sub that denied other users. It really creates questions and distrust.
